I'll throw in some discussion to this whole thing counter point to whiplash argument: on standard and higher difficulties you receive hard damage using the whiplash, which is fine if you're good enough at dodging most hits. but if you aren't then the screwdriver offers more consistent survivability. obviously the counter point to the counter point is a player should get better at not getting hit as they play, so the whiplash becomes more usable with practice. I agree that screwdriver parries are a bit too precise to pull off and actually hit against anything that isn't as big as a cerberus. Perhaps it might deserve a slight aim assist to make landing it not as impractical. what else could they add? maybe it'd be cool if it had more mechanics around disabling or manipulating enemy behaviors? like disabling hideous mass harpoons? since it attracts lightning for some reason in wrath levels, maybe it could attract ferryman lightning to enemies instead of you? idk just spitballing. could make a neat mod idea ,what if screwdriver was overpowered?
Yeah there’s some fun stuff Hakita could do. Maybe some stuff with regenerating stamina? Other than that, doing things like disabling Maurice lasers or Cerberus stomps could give it a really nice niche

oof, im not a screwdriver fan, but i GOT to make a vid tomorrow explaining the use. for now, ill just be straight jorkin it. (also, not being able to line enemies up is a skill issue, nuking and railcoining is harder.)
It's a great supportive tool to help yourself deal with multiple high HP targets at a time Especially in the Cyber Grind, when a Swordsmachine or a Cerberus spawns in, it's helpful to throw a screwdriver on one and forget about them until later, especially with a swordsmachine since they follow so closely to you often (giving you more health support to then keep the fights going with the other enemies) You also don't have to parry the screwdriver immediately. Allowing the screwdriver to work it's work, and then at the end of it's life parry it will still give you that additional damage. Just because it's not a "skill based" weapon doesn't make it a bad weapon. It allows leverage for other cool shenanigans because it allows a good safety net to fall back onto/into. Combined with the fire to give it a bigger healing area helps it's situation as well.
I don’t know, lay one of those on a boss and you got a steady blood intake during the fight. I used this on Gabriel 2 and help me win. Definitely not the best, but certainly not useless.
Screwdriver is mainly about keeping you alive. For example, I take a ton of damage from a boss and I can’t risk getting to close, so I use the screwdriver to tag them, heal myself instantly, and have a safety net to go in and do more damage
Legit or not, I’ve been stirring this in my mind for days about making a possible video and calling it “why the screwdriver is the best weapon in ULTRAKILL” but let’s be honest- the only real reason anyone would refuse to use it is because they forget it exists. They read the description or something and realize “oh hey, this doesn’t actually deal a ton of damage” and they pass it off as bad. My fellow railcannon enjoyers, this weapon allows me to turn Minos Prime into a cheeseable fight. Not only do you get steady DPS guaranteed on the target, but you can heal from that damage at a longer range! Combine that with close range combat and this thing is a lifesaver. Trading damage for health restoration in a game where even one mistake can end your whole P rank is something worth considering here. And let’s not forget: you can PUNCH THE DRILL TO *RESET THE DURATION.*
electric railcannon is for multiple higher health enemies, malrail is for fodder and core nukes, screwdriver is for single or two to three targets usually, along with the constant blood supply while its in effect. while it is a bit too situational sometimes it is the best option in some scenarios and worth using up a rail charge tbh. not everyones playstyle is the same so i can understand how it doesnt work for you. good video
@@jevanfifkov7500Irrelevant, Jumpstart works very well with literally everything. Id argue all default nailguns (unless you want sawtraps then go blue sawblade launcher) are better. some of these takes are HORRIBLE. all weapons are good in their respective uses, even if they have less uses anyways. firestarter and jumpstare and cathartic to use when you pull it off right, and screwdriver is good for a first-time play. heck, its still good on harder levels like brutal p-2.
TBH it's not *that* bad 1. You can choose the biggest enemy in the room, screwdrive it and then burn it and you have a fountain of healing while you run around blowing up the other enemies 2. It's less costy than a x2 railcoin, so it's safer to use it and then spend the coins on smth else 3. it's overall easy to use, and it's healing capabilities make it a GREAT begginner weapon and can aid a bit when you are experienced 4. You can use it to take feetpics of the enemeis. The tec is called "feetbacker" and it does nothing other than wasting your railcannon charge and taking said feetpics
My man has your brain been rotted by "the meta"? Like, i can get alt marksman hate, the weapon is slow and isnt very reliable in some situations compared to the default marksman, but the screwdriver is objectively good, not just for health but for damage too, it deals a shit ton of damage and is very useful, its not really a crowd-control type but neither is the electric railcannon, hell, the electric railcannon is actually fucking useless without coins, while without coins the screwdriver outdamages it handily
screwdriver is a nice little tool to use when youre in a bad spot health wise and dont have time to railcoin or dont wanna use a slab piercer shot the parrying thing can be fun as well and honestly being fun is all a weapon needs
The Green one if you know how to use It can do x2 of normal dmg of a blue RAILCANON if you have skill issue and dont know how to use dont say IS the worst weapon.
Screw you, it got me through 0-5 on brutal. I used this, the jumpstart nailgun, and sawed on shotgun. I pretty much just used the screwdriver to heal, the jumpstart to get rid of hard damage (since it instantly gets you to ULTRAKILL) and the sawed on as my main damage source because I'm addicted to the saw. Tbh this is more me wanting to share my first time beating a boss through actual strategy instead of brute forcing it with the sawed on, but it still got me to be able to heal better without needing to risk as much hard damage while also doing decent damage.
Counterpoint: The drill is perfect for me for a very specific scenario: difficult bosses. Which is a great weapon to have a specific tool for. Of course double railcoining does more damage, however I still have difficulty hitting the coin normally with the marksman, find it near impossible to hit a normal coin with a railcannon, so tricks like that are out of my reach for the time being. During normal combat, yes, the screwdriver is bad. However the increased healing is nice on fast bosses like p-1 and p-2, not only because they are kinda jank to whiplash, but also because whiplash causes hard damage, and because said bosses like to get close, so it will provide a large safety net. Funnily enough I have the malicious explosion one unequipped, because I prefer line over explosion, since I at some point had the tendency to fire the rail at point blank, regardless of the type. Besides that, Just like I am not great at hitting coins (getting better, but it is going to take a while) I am very unreliable at core nukes, and they are a way bigger commitment than a few coins.
4:15 I suck, and I don't play this game all the time, I wanna play TF2 and SCP:SL because there's not much for me to do in ultra kill due to the singleplayer nature of the game. If I played this game more often, sure this would be a valid point, but this game simply rewards you more for being more skillful, it doesn't force you to be more skilled, just encourages it. If you can't hit a double railcoin because you work 9-5 then the drill is the best option 5:08 Why the fuck would you use the drill on anything besides a boss? This isn't valid because the most common use case for the drill is boss fights. If you are using the drill on something that you can safely whiplash to so you can heal you got brain problems. 5:53 Just get in parry range and look at what you want to hit and then you hit it easy as that you don't need to get behind them you just need to get to somewhere that the parry will hit. It shouldn't be any harder than hitting a shot with the drill in the first place. All of your points have holes in them that kind of discredit you a good bit. And don't forget that burning enemies take more damage so the two "Bad" weapon variations, being the drill and the fire starter work wonders together on bosses.
Double railcoinning isn’t something everyone is capable of, the whiplash punishes you for using it too much, and the Screwdriver isn’t bad at all. Sure it’s a little bit outclassed, but in terms of bosses and big enemies it’s a great tool, especially if you can hit a mobile boss like V2, if you can’t then that’s a skill issue, just practice some aiming and you’ll get it. The Screwdriver’s main purpose I believe is for bosses and bosses alone, it doesn’t shine as much with AoE like the electric or malicious railcannon but THRIVES off of bosses especially with the healing aura. It’s a safe way to get a bunch of quick hits in with close range weapons with a lot more room for error. It’s a utility first and a dps weapon second
Screwdriver is incredibly good, i thiught it was bad too when i had less hours in the game. The best way to use it is with bosses to keep a constant source of blood (very important on violent and brutal) and to parey it between heavier enemies during gauntlets.
You would've just solved the comment issue by adding *for vetran players* to the title. Being able to crutch off the screwdriver is actually the primary reason i am able to figure out bossfights and their attacks. (Specifically gabe 2, and minos prime for those wondering, and no, i haven't gotten to sisyphus yet, lol). Just cause the screwdriver objectively bad for vets doesn't mean it's horrible and should be buffed, its just a weapon that people will learn to stop using as they learn more combos and get used to the game. And one last thing, the whiplash gives hard damage, kind of a pain to heal when you literally can't - No hard feelings, man, good luck with stuff ^^
Its not useless in P-1 & P-2.Since prime souls are able to teleport you can use it to gain blood from it.Its not a bad weapon. But it shouldnt be usen to give damage.
screwdriver really isnt that bad. The worst weapon would better be put as something like the stock piercer. Its effectively useless after getting the slab piercer.
Bro if you've played p-2 on brutal you instantly know just how helpful the screwdriver is. Sisyphus in phase 2 when he's fucking flying all about with explosions going off is utterly impossible to railcoin unless you are an absolute specimen of a gamer. I ended up P-ranking P-2 on brutal BECAUSE of the survivability offered by the screwdriver. Even if these are the only moments where it's viable: a fast moving boss that is difficult to heal off of, then I think that's just fine because it fulfills that role pretty damn well.
Very good against sisyphus prime, he barely lets you do crazy combos. Unless he taunts, but I parry all of his moves and even play it on Brutal. The red railgun can get you killed through self damage and knockback, you may need to even dash which consuming one stamina is a big deal when fighting him. The blue railgun is fine I guess, it’s 8 damage not the worst thing. Green one is great bc you can use it to instantly heal yourself and parry which is added on top of the screw driver damage.
I think people are over hating on this video but I mostly disagree with your points. The screwdriver feels more like a boss healing weapon rather than just for raw damage. Yes, very skilled players probably wont use it but for more casual players like myself its really nice if you struggle with a boss, the regen can make a huge difference.
@@cokeblock4043 eh just putting in a bit of my personal opinions and also since this comment I figured out things about jumpstart, the more nails are in something, the more dmg, magnets increase range, and saws reduce the time it takes for it to happen regardless of the variant, still prefer normal variant but that’s just so I can stick in a lot of nails, and switch to a sawgun to make it charge faster,

Screwdriver single-handedly carried my ass when I was p-ranking p-2 on brutal. As a weapon, yeah it could be better, but as a support item, makes it a must for your arsenal. This guy doesn't know what hard damage is, nor what he's talking about.

coldest and most incorrect take of all time, but don't worry the ultrakill reddit will LOVE it
NOOB LOL! you are just sooo trash that you have to use screwdriver noob weapon. you will NEVER be pro
I'll throw in some discussion to this whole thing
counter point to whiplash argument: on standard and higher difficulties you receive hard damage using the whiplash, which is fine if you're good enough at dodging most hits. but if you aren't then the screwdriver offers more consistent survivability. obviously the counter point to the counter point is a player should get better at not getting hit as they play, so the whiplash becomes more usable with practice.
I agree that screwdriver parries are a bit too precise to pull off and actually hit against anything that isn't as big as a cerberus. Perhaps it might deserve a slight aim assist to make landing it not as impractical.
what else could they add?
maybe it'd be cool if it had more mechanics around disabling or manipulating enemy behaviors? like disabling hideous mass harpoons? since it attracts lightning for some reason in wrath levels, maybe it could attract ferryman lightning to enemies instead of you? idk just spitballing. could make a neat mod idea ,what if screwdriver was overpowered?
youre right about screwdriver giving consistent survivability but I still think its weak and needs a change to be as viable as the other railcannons
Yeah there’s some fun stuff Hakita could do. Maybe some stuff with regenerating stamina? Other than that, doing things like disabling Maurice lasers or Cerberus stomps could give it a really nice niche
@@prep5181 yeah, as soon as a player experiments with weapon combos it gets pretty overshadowed. funny enough I find that I don't even use it to panic heal much. electric railcannon or piercer headshot burst heals just fine for me.
@@prep5181screw is fine as is and is really good if you know what ur doing, in normal play i use the screwdriver more that the other two rails just cuz its going to do the most single target damage out of all the variants without any resources (instantly at that), if anything malrail is the weakest now since you have railless nukes and jumpstart both able to do that at less cost and be just as if not more effective than a regular nuke
@@prep5181- 14 damage = weak. Slab piercer does 1.25 = meta?
- whiplash is MEAN with hard damage on violent and brutal
- I've got 700 hours in ultrakill and STILL can't railcoin consistently, especially Ariel
- the argument of doing damage to multiple enemies makes sense!
- the HEALING factor not only increases radius but also heals REALLY fast
Also it got buffed CRAZY in the full arsenal update, I still consistently use this weapon, it's my main railcannon, malicious second, electric last
THE STYLE IS +CONDUCTOR
THE SCREWDRIVER IS HEELS
THE SCREWDRIVER +CONDUCTOR IS ULTRAKILL
oof, im not a screwdriver fan, but i GOT to make a vid tomorrow explaining the use. for now, ill just be straight jorkin it. (also, not being able to line enemies up is a skill issue, nuking and railcoining is harder.)
It's a great supportive tool to help yourself deal with multiple high HP targets at a time
Especially in the Cyber Grind, when a Swordsmachine or a Cerberus spawns in, it's helpful to throw a screwdriver on one and forget about them until later, especially with a swordsmachine since they follow so closely to you often (giving you more health support to then keep the fights going with the other enemies)
You also don't have to parry the screwdriver immediately.
The weapon that helped me to p-rank P-2 on brutal
its not only about damage also the screwdriver gives ludicrous style
Using Screwdriver parrying in 0-5 on Brutal makes it easier
I don’t know, lay one of those on a boss and you got a steady blood intake during the fight. I used this on Gabriel 2 and help me win. Definitely not the best, but certainly not useless.
Yeah for bosses, I agree. 👍
What if you don't get hit the blood fountain becomes useless
idea what if magnets made the screw go out where the magnet on the enemy was facing or screws get attracted to magnets
They do I think
Wrong the Screwdriver is the Goat
screwdriver railcannon, my beloved
Screwdriver is mainly about keeping you alive.
For example, I take a ton of damage from a boss and I can’t risk getting to close, so I use the screwdriver to tag them, heal myself instantly, and have a safety net to go in and do more damage
"You're wrong." - V1
7:47 that insurrectionist maurice parry into the mindflayer is so fucking good tho
You are NOT TRASHTALKING MY GOAT
electric railcannon is for multiple higher health enemies, malrail is for fodder and core nukes, screwdriver is for single or two to three targets usually, along with the constant blood supply while its in effect. while it is a bit too situational sometimes it is the best option in some scenarios and worth using up a rail charge tbh. not everyones playstyle is the same so i can understand how it doesnt work for you. good video
Screwdrives + red launcher
+blue sawblades +green sawblades +red nailgun
@@jevanfifkov7500Irrelevant, Jumpstart works very well with literally everything. Id argue all default nailguns (unless you want sawtraps then go blue sawblade launcher) are better.
That's like saying
"Erm well double railcoining is actually a waste of damage because if you were skilled enough you'd use all 4 coins and have had deadcoined beforehand! ☝️🤓"
@@S_whoelse Ok. +blue sawblades +overheat nails +jumpstart

I think it has really good utility in Cyber Grind, when you can deal passive damage to tougher enemies, and clean of fodder.
finally someone who doesnt hate on slab mark
the screw driver is better for bosses, especially ones like minos, sysiphus, and gabriel, where when they get very close to hit you, they are bleeding auto healing any damage they deal to you. This simple tech idea single handedly helped my p-rank sysiphus

I've had enough of you. SCREWDRIVER RAILCANNON GO!
i made a new video on the screwdriver and i did it justice this time (its not the worst weapon)
combo with a screwdriver on any boss in the game: screwdriver when they are stunned --> you're invincible for the duration of screwdriver being in them.
don't like killing bosses easily? okay. any hard room has at least one tanky enemy. screwdriver on tanky enemy(maurice/swordsmachine/mindflayer/ferryman/insurrectionist/cerberus/guttartank/guttertank) --> you're invinicble around them
damn you're biased
Woah! Coolio Julio!
best weapon against bosses when you are not a sweat
It's not about practicality, it's about having fun
And having fun is subjective
some of these takes are HORRIBLE. all weapons are good in their respective uses, even if they have less uses anyways. firestarter and jumpstare and cathartic to use when you pull it off right, and screwdriver is good for a first-time play. heck, its still good on harder levels like brutal p-2.
TBH it's not *that* bad
1. You can choose the biggest enemy in the room, screwdrive it and then burn it and you have a fountain of healing while you run around blowing up the other enemies
2. It's less costy than a x2 railcoin, so it's safer to use it and then spend the coins on smth else
3. it's overall easy to use, and it's healing capabilities make it a GREAT begginner weapon and can aid a bit when you are experienced
4. You can use it to take feetpics of the enemeis. The tec is called "feetbacker" and it does nothing other than wasting your railcannon charge and taking said feetpics
My man has your brain been rotted by "the meta"?
Like, i can get alt marksman hate, the weapon is slow and isnt very reliable in some situations compared to the default marksman, but the screwdriver is objectively good, not just for health but for damage too, it deals a shit ton of damage and is very useful, its not really a crowd-control type but neither is the electric railcannon, hell, the electric railcannon is actually fucking useless without coins, while without coins the screwdriver outdamages it handily
screwdriver allows you to stay close to the boss so its very good
"its the worst weapon" names every reason why its good in the first 3 minutes
screwdriver is a nice little tool to use when youre in a bad spot health wise and dont have time to railcoin or dont wanna use a slab piercer shot
the parrying thing can be fun as well and honestly being fun is all a weapon needs
The Green one if you know how to use It can do x2 of normal dmg of a blue RAILCANON if you have skill issue and dont know how to use dont say IS the worst weapon.
its actually great, u can use it to one shot many difficult enemies with the giga drill break
whole drill of green railcanon in air gives you 2088 style, but nuke multikill x18 only 1771 style => green railcanon useful if low style
Screwdriver + Whiplash + Feedbacker Maurice instakill is my reason to use the screwdriver
Yummy green laser goes boom on flying head
MY ANTI MAURICE DIVICE GETTNG DISSED
Screw you, it got me through 0-5 on brutal. I used this, the jumpstart nailgun, and sawed on shotgun.
I pretty much just used the screwdriver to heal, the jumpstart to get rid of hard damage (since it instantly gets you to ULTRAKILL) and the sawed on as my main damage source because I'm addicted to the saw.
Tbh this is more me wanting to share my first time beating a boss through actual strategy instead of brute forcing it with the sawed on, but it still got me to be able to heal better without needing to risk as much hard damage while also doing decent damage.
I like the screwdriver because it lets me fix my mistakes.
If you can't hit a double railcoin because you work 9-5 then the drill is the best option
5:08 Why the fuck would you use the drill on anything besides a boss?
**LOUD INCORRECT BUZZER**
screwdriver railcannon can be useful to heal thats what i use it for every time and im not complaining
i use screwdriver mainly to prevent mindflayers from teleporting
It’s a utility first and a dps weapon second
screwdriver railcannon is just getting free blood that helps out a little for beginners ig
Screwdriver is incredibly good, i thiught it was bad too when i had less hours in the game. The best way to use it is with bosses to keep a constant source of blood (very important on violent and brutal) and to parey it between heavier enemies during gauntlets.
2:33 bro the stray💀
I mean the screwdriver does the most damage out of all railcannons and you can parry it to reset its timer and attach it to another enemy
And one last thing, the whiplash gives hard damage, kind of a pain to heal when you literally can't -
No hard feelings, man, good luck with stuff ^^
i dont like the screwdriver but this mf did a terrible job explaining why its statistically bad
the screwdriver cannon is great chip damage for bosses and amazing for gaining health off high priority targets
Its not useless in P-1 & P-2.Since prime souls are able to teleport you can use it to gain blood from it.Its not a bad weapon. But it shouldnt be usen to give damage.
i just use it to heal me really easily, it has kept me alive by using it a lot up to wave 80 in the cybergrind so yeah
I really like the screwdriver since I typically stick very close to big enemies
hating the screwdriver after the full arsenal update is crazy
Every weapon in this game is balanced so that i fits in certain situations. The screw driver is epic
screwdriver really isnt that bad. The worst weapon would better be put as something like the stock piercer. Its effectively useless after getting the slab piercer.
Your point about how you can just whiplash lesser enemies to heal is invalid because all damage gets turned to hard damage
bro sounds so happy 😆
v2 in brutal is honestly so fast you cant even grapple onto him so the screwdriver is essential to heal in that fight
As a screwer (peak name) myself, v2 can be very hard to hit in his second fight
What about +parry +corkscrew blow. That shit does SO MUCH DAMAGE in such a short amount of time with no setup
He talks about it, outclassed by railcoining but it does take such little setup to do.
I think people are over hating on this video but I mostly disagree with your points. The screwdriver feels more like a boss healing weapon rather than just for raw damage. Yes, very skilled players probably wont use it but for more casual players like myself its really nice if you struggle with a boss, the regen can make a huge difference.
The nailguns are WAY WORSE than the screwdriver, expecially the blue one and green one
Green one is pretty good, just overshadowed by the green nailgun alt. And the red nailgun is better than the red nailgun alt
Yeah that's why he didn't say red, however they are both practical for different playstyles@@Ultracultchaosultimate
@@cokeblock4043 eh just putting in a bit of my personal opinions and also since this comment I figured out things about jumpstart, the more nails are in something, the more dmg, magnets increase range, and saws reduce the time it takes for it to happen regardless of the variant, still prefer normal variant but that’s just so I can stick in a lot of nails, and switch to a sawgun to make it charge faster,
As sm1 whos still relatively new to the game (only p ranked p-1 yesterday), I havent really had too much time to experiment with different weapon combos. The screwdriver came in clutch for beating all the bosses, the healing is really useful. The only reason u consider it shit is cuz u think its for noobs. Also its not hard to line up a screwdriver parry. U are just biased. Every weapon is relevant, if u dont like a weapon, its not cuz its bad. Its cuz it doesnt fit ur play style. Im sure theres a group of people out there who use the alt marksman.
Anyways I continued using the screwdriver
i leave the ultrakill fanbase for a minute and now everyone is supportive of the screwdriver??? insane
