Love it, or hate it! Wild West narrow gauge from Egger Bahn | Vintage Model Railway Review

Egger Bahn, known for producing narrow gauge items in HOe (009) scale, have made this Wild West themed steam locomotive and matched coaches. It's an 0-4-0 loco with a tender and "Union Pacific" on the tender. While the coach has "Western Union" on it.
In this video I take a look at these two items and attempt to get them running. It's a bit of a love/hate relationship, so see what happens!

The locomotive was originally just a Freelance French (or just general European) narrow gauge locomotive. In the early Eggerbahn days the range was very popular and was even expanded. However later on to keep up with market demand it was decided to simplify models to keep up with demand. In an attempt to gain more financial backing partnered with Constantin Films to produce western-themed rolling stock to go with the companies Old Shatterhand and Winnetou films. Instead of making a new locomotive, they just took the old one and 'Americanised' it. However, exactly as you described, the models were simply too fragile for children and too simple and unrealistic for serious modelers so the new line flopped, taking Egger-Bahn with it. Shame, because alot of stuff they made was so cool!
