    Always great to hear and see Gael speak! But, permalink or URL structure was not discussed when talking about nested pages. When you go 3 levels deep, would you keep the parent pages in de URL structure or would you make all pages go on the root. Last option tends to rank better imo, as well as it is better for UX. But is it possible to do that with your way of working Gael, and the nested plugin?

    Great video. May I ask, I have a content site with 120 pages. I use RankMath, when I started building the site I utilised the 'strip category base' option, so although I do have categories, they are not in the urls. I thought this would help by having shorter url's on my posts & pages. Do you think this was a bad idea? Perhaps it would have helped if I left the category names in there?

    i have on question. If i have a online shop for Gin. And a lot of different categories, like colored gin -> Blue Gin, gin from different countries -> England.... Then the depth of the page grows big like, Gin -> colored Gin -> blue Gin -> product. Thet would be 4 steps to reach the product.
    Now my question. Would it make more sense to have more categories in the main menu? So that it would be colored gins -> blu gin -> product? Or do i really need the main category Gin ?
    Could i use different content hubs like, Gin by color , Gin by region, gin by story , Special offers? ore do i need a main hub like gin to make a good website structure?

    Hey! I have a question, it would be awesome if somebody could help me.
    Which way of creating your web structure is the best?
    1. You have a big category in your authority site e.g. computers and then you want to make it more concrete so you create more categories such as desktops / laptops / etc. Then in those categories you link to your main content pieces that link to secondary content. This is very organized but it takes 4+ clicks to reach the smallest pieces of content.
    2. Everything is the same, however you do not make the sub-category for desktops / laptops / etc. But you just link to those main pieces of content in your category page "computers" This would also be quite organized, however, the spread of distribution of link juice would go very widely.
    What to do in such sifuation

    • @AuthorityHacker
      @AuthorityHacker  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It depends on the site of your site. Do solution 2 while you are smaller and as you grow, build more sub hubs.

      @@domantasvanagas6911 Hi did you figure out, I have the same problem?

    • @domantasvanagas6911
      @domantasvanagas6911 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@fahadhafeez8086 It is a very complex thing, so I will not answer here, however, the most important thing IMO you need to keep in mind is the intent and potential cannibalization. So, what you need to make sure is if an article should consist of 2 similar keyword in an article ir should be 2 separate articles.
      You can check that by typing in the keywords into Google and see what SERPs do you get. If 70% of the SERP matches in both keywords, write 1 article consisting of both of those keywords. If the SERP is different, write 2 separate ones.
      Afterwards, is internal linking game, which I have not yet mastered.

    I'm not sure this video is relevant anymore or ever was? If you design pages you will need to create hub pages which is a lot of work as apposed to dynamic archive/category pages. 10 posts per archive page is a good number besides you can increase this number easily with a few clicks in WP. Use category pages, Google knows how these work and does not require lots of text to rank them. For link juice you simply link down through the silo from within the body text of each page and back up again. Realistically you only need one link per page to spread link juice.

    • @AuthorityHacker
      @AuthorityHacker  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      the problem with post grids is they create not 1 but multiple links per entry with shitty anchor text and those pages have 0 unique content. You can solve all these issues by creating your own hub pages.

    • @steveiws

      @@AuthorityHacker I get what you're saying but Google knows how WordPress works, the vast majority of bloggers use archive pages, and some make good money regardless.
