I had the original Link mod, and I swapped it for the Sanwa removable stick that came out a few months ago. I thought the quick release on the Link would bother me, but it was fine. The thing that did bother me about the Link was using it with the plastic dust cover/washer. I don't know if this would be a problem on other sticks, but on mine, the Link's quick release lip would go below the washer and catch against it when I hit corner inputs, causing the washer to flick back up. It was pretty subtle, but I am OCD enough that I found it just annoying enough to ditch it when Sanwa released their version of the mod.
Wow I'm early this time. I see that you're getting deeper and deeper into fightstick modding/customizing and aftermarket parts, I'm loving these videos. What's next, Korean levers? Or maybe a full build from scratch? Messing around with fightsticks has become a really fun hobby for me as well. I'm doing a padhack/dual mod for my next project.
@@ashtonphoenyx I don’t see why it wouldn’t be. The majority of arcade components are interchangeable. The few that aren’t are usually easily modified.
I think you buy and mod and spend more money on arcade sticks and getting cracked out on coffee and buying parts than you do actually playing fighting games
nice video tx you . But is it possible to put a normal sanwa lever instead of the phreakmodz one ?? if yes the height would be the same ?? i mean if i don t go to tournament i dont really need the default vitrix or phreakmods to be mounted on the stick. Let me know if you could answer to that question plkease.
So if I buy a Victrix Pro Fs, and I want a custom colored ball top, I have to first buy a phreakmods shaft for 28$, and then the sanwa ball top of my choice, is that correct?
Yeah phreakmodz link or just use the standard sanwa JLF shaft which is included with the pro fs. the only ball tops that will fit the victrix “Link 2” shaft are ball tops that are counter sunk.
@@NihongoGamer hello i know this is late but do you know if the phreakmods link work on a JLFD joystick? i recently both of them because i was careless and manager to break the shaft for the regular JLF joystick
@@NihongoGamer also keep up the good work man, you actually help me get my builds for my fightsticks never would have discovered gamerfinger buttons or the qanba obsidian
you can screw a battop onto a link and it'll work just fine. the issue is just when you want to remove the lever as you probably already know. theres a certain technique to it that makes it possible to attach and detach it but it is a little tricky. i used a battop on my stick for a long time before i went to kstick, and now theres even some ksticks with quick releases.

It's so cool that you can just walk to the store and buy arcade parts like that in Japan. I'd love to be able to do that in the US lol
Well it’s quite a specific store in akihabara. Not the sort of store that’s common in every town
It depends on where you are actually! I believe stores like paradise arcade and arcade shock have physical stores you can buy stuff from.

The Link EX-Groove doesn't have the gap and has a lip for the dust cover.
can you use the groove with the victrix?

does playing a stick without the dust cover feel different?
Does the Phreakmods Link fit in the bottom compartment to stow away the separated balltop?
hilariously...yes! Fits perfectly! Looks like they were expecting that many people would swap out the lever for "The Link"
@@NihongoGamer is the phreak mods link groove ex any different in fitment?
I just use a sanwa detatchable lever
Ps And you can change from ball top to bat top which im going to do

The victrix pro fs ships includes a standard sanwa shaft in the box as an extra for people who don’t want the removable shaft
Can u use bat tops with these ?
I really hope they make character head ball tops
Do you have the link in where i can buy it?

Phreakmodz needs to make a detachable/re-attachable bat-top.
