For anyone who is still arguing "Pastels are drawings, not paintings"... Watch this. We loved the part 1 footage of preparing and toning the panel! Great example of purposeful but improvisational layering, and working gradually toward detail. Beautiful!
I love everything about your videos: the paintings, the music, the asmr of the paper and the pastels, the inspiring nature, the editing, the books, the cats! So relaxing and inspiring.
People think that they can become rich by making money...No..You are getting rich by making your inner world beautiful like Misako..You are wonderful. Just love. Pure beauty..
Wow its so lovely to see how all your previous work has culminated into this amazing piece with so much professionalism and artistry. I am in awe of your work. Time to get my oil pastels out and see what I can do. Thank you so much for sharing with the world your journey.
This is really interesting and beautiful to watch. Thank you for sharing. You inspired me to try out pastels as a medium and I'm enjoying the feel of them immensely. :D I can't wait to see more from you!
I have seriously rewatched part 1 everyday! You are such an inspiration for me that I’ve decided to get back into art and take it more seriously, so thank you!!!💕 and I will be watching part 2 everyday until part 3 comes out😂😂😂
Aww thank you so much🥺 Part1 is one of my favourite videos too! it's really motivating to hear that you loved my video, I really appreciate it.💕Hope you're having a great Sunday!
You are a very skilled drawer and I enjoy watching your videos which are masterpiece productions in themselves. Oil pastels have been my medium of choice for a number of years but I do plein air on canvas paper in Toronto. I even have a very similar folding table easel as you, which was kind of comical to me. It's great to see your work in progress and have subscribed to your channel for updates.
Misako, you inspire me to return to oil pastel work! I’ve always been enjoying using them but have yet to have sustained discipline and a big push to make some time for it. Watching this 3-part progression of yours is such an encouragement. Thank you so much! ♥️
Misako, this piece is already so beautiful! 😍 In awe of just everything- you are doing such an incredible job! Thank you for taking us along with you as you create it. So excited to see it once it is finished! ❤
watching you work on this piece has been giving me so much excitement! i'm so busy with university that i've fallen off with my art-related work < i'm looking forward to the final piece, you're doing an excellent job misako. beautiful work ^^
Your videos are a piece of art themselves!! Your oil pastel technoque really impress me, it is just flowing so nicely. Great work and amazing colors. Keep up the good work :)

This is so relaxing and packed with a lot of talent and hardwork! if only people would reach more of this kind of video than watching some kind of nonsense tiktok videos that gets million of views and reactions basically because they are of the same mind
In the end painting come out so beautiful🤗 ur videos gives so cozy vibes ,thank u for sharing ur process, I'm always scare to try oil paint I thought its not gonna be easy to blend but ur videos inspiring me to draw😄
HI! Just wondering what Van Gogh book you're looking at in the Van Gogh portrait video. I thought I'd ask here because you're talking about books in this one. Your art is astonishing!!!
This is beautiful! Can you please tell me what that pushing rubber-looking tool is that you are using at 30:15? Is it some kind of rubber eraser? What a great way to push the pastel to sharpen edges and smooth the surface without adding color (like with a color pencil)!
This is truly inspiring! I want to begin with pastel oils, would you recommend buying the big sennelier sets, or would I be fine with just the set of 12? (I already paint with acrylic, oilpaint and gouache and usually just use my primaries)
Thank you! I'd say if you mainly paint portraits like me, I recommend their Oil Pastel Set of 24, Portrait edition. this set comes with lots of skin tones. (amzn.to/3f0jwwt) Mungyo is a good option as well. They are cheap enough where I can still get a large box of them with a variety of colours and easy to blend. (amzn.to/3UtRnOw)
wow wow wow!! love love love!! (Also the invisible life of Addie larue is so good I’ve talked about it on my channel a lot 🤩) Let me know if you’d like any book recommendations!
No problem! I use generic mixed media paper for thick layer drawing to archieve a smooth texture, and for light-textured drawings, I use Strathmore Pastel paper and canon pastel paper. •Strathmore - light textured/ good for fine detailed drawings. You can also use this one for thick drawings •Canson - heavy textured/ good for large size drawings. -Canson Mi-Teintes Pastel Pad 12”X16” amzn.to/37qXrUc -Strathmore Pastel paper amzn.to/3zQNh9A -Fabriano 1264 Mixed Media Pad, 11 x 14 amzn.to/3QT5077

Can I ask you a question? Where do you get the references for this type of paintings? I mean, for example, like this scene with ancient clothes, the horse, etc., all things that you may not have available. For certain particular subjects maybe you call models, or do you use a mix of online photos? Same thing about a certain type of setting for example; you know, sometimes we’d love to paint characters, clothes or ancient places or maybe many people together, but we don't know where to get the references. Do you know what I mean? How do you do? Thank you for your time!
The final part will be up in 3 weeks✨Thank you for supporting my channel, you guys are all so sweet☺
It's going to be worth the wait, I'm sure. Have a nice 3 weeks !
