The importance/significance of 5 steps in the Mukhya Mantapa of Sri Dharmarayaswamy Temple.
From the historic and ancient period for more than 800 years, these 5 steps in front of the sanctum santorium or garbhagudi, signifies the 5 Pandavas and Panchabhootas according to historical references, it is also believed that above these 5 steps the head of the community was delivering judicial judgments related to community or public matters.
Also, it is believed that whatever is spoken on these 5 steps will become true and those who speak false will be held with severe punishments by the Godess Aadhishakthi.
