A lot of other reaction channels are seeing the same thing where they get 1 or 2 thousand views per video but then when they review Bo Burnham the video gets 30k views. Bo has such a dedicated fan base that want to see anyone and everyone to watch him. So yes unfortunately most people are just here for Bo. It has nothing to do with the quality of your content. The increase in views is purely due to the subject. You have a lot of good high quality content, please don't doubt yourself! keep going man, you will get more popular with time and luck. but your quality is already really good!
The other caveat is that a lot of people who like Bo have a hard time following pop music, so you're kind of digging into a niche, but the upside is that if you're a decent performer then you can be the one introducing people to new artists because they just like hearing you talk about art

Bo’s performances where he plays two characters at the same time are always great (one of my favorites is the Break up song in Make Happy), it shows how versatile he is and I love it so much. And thanks for opening up at the end, I found it very touching to hear more about how you related to the song. I'm here because I enjoy reaction content for random things I like and generally don't have anyone to discuss it with, Tool or other band reaction videos, comedy reactions, etc. Finding your voice is big on this platform, and the best example I know of for someone who did find their voice was RTgame. He used to do exclusively Team Fortress 2 videos with the occasional pokemon video, and that's what he was known for. I'd stumbled across him like 4 years ago in a recommended video off of the FT2 promo videos (which I watched occasionally because they are pretty good for just being promos for a game I almost never played), and a few years back he decided to stop doing TF2 content and move to variety, and he took off explosively (randomly popped up in my recommended again after like 2 years). I think all the time he put into making his content and learning the platform while struggling with views or even enjoying his own content paid off whenever he finally matured, gained some self awareness and started doing whatever he wanted to do. Other TH-cam content creators I like, like Huggbees or Critikal, had similar arcs, where they got known for doing one thing, and managed to branch out and find more success doing what they felt like, and knowing the grind well enough to keep improving. They all found their voice after going at it for a while, it took a lot of effort for them, and they all found some help along the way also. It's obvious you're a thoughtful person, I've already watched all of your reaction videos of Bo Burnham and have enjoyed it, your reactions are pretty sincere. I'm also not into Warzone or Fortnight, battle royale type content, competitive fps content in general isn't what I'm watching (just me personally). I'm not saying you should go all in on being a reaction youtuber- nothing wrong with that if you decide to though, whatever works keep doing it- but I think you could build a community quickly if you're willing to experiment more, stay engaged with your audience and keep working to improve your content. (Btw, uploading these reaction videos is one way you've been staying engaged with your audience, you've got a pulse on something we like and your delivery is enjoyable). I think you'll wind up doing very well eventually, keep up the hustle

I think as far as your content goes, I love gaming myself. But when it comes down to it, there are hundreds of people doing Bo Burnham reactions these days. But there are litterally 10s, if not hundreds of thousands or millions of people doing Call of Duty or Fortnite content. So people looking for Bo Burnham are more likely to see your content, where as with the popular AAA games, viewers are basically casting a fishing line into the ocean. It's gonna be tough for people to find you. When I started getting traction on TH-cam, (I stopped doing youtube years ago.) I was playing a hunting simulator that hardly anyone ever heard about or did content for. There were like 5 of us at the time, and for a while i was the only one with a mic.

It’s actually a compliment since I don’t watch reaction videos for anything other than Bo and a couple other performers, and yours are great. Not into gaming so I’ll never be your target audience for most content, but love what you’re doing with these Bo Burnham performances. Interesting you choose to review this particular Bo song since it feels like your creativity and analysis are at war ;) Story time: There’s a really popular TH-camr called clair that started out doing random games that she liked and then decided to play Sims 4 and she blew up. It’s true that now her channel is predominantly sims related since it’s where most of her followers came from but she’s also free to do a lot of other content that we will all watch because we love her now and want her to succeed. The same will happen to you, you’ll see. At the end of the day, if you are still doing something you enjoy, it doesn’t matter what brought us all here, it’s your personable nature and ease in front of the camera that will keep us watching even if it’s not reaction vids :) also, you could, say, react twice a week and game a couple times a week so you are putting out both types of content :)

for me: i found you because of bo burnham/the youtube algorythm. i stayed because of you as a personality. i don't watch streaming content but would watch play throughs with commentary and so on. Do what you like because in the long run that will be what gives you the viewers that stay.
Honestly timing I think helped a lot with this. Given that the special has only been out a few months and more than one song from it went TikTok viral, it was going to bring a lot of people to YT and websites to see info and reactions to Bo Burnham. So I'd say for content you could try to get into whatever is getting hyped up on TikTok, or has had viral history. For example, both Demi Lovato and Melanie Martinez had new albums last year and both had aspects of their projects go viral on TikTok. Though just keep in mind that certain artists have very active fandoms so be prepared lol

You ever hear of Dave Malloy? grew up playing jazz, huge catalog, he writes all his vocals almost like instrumental solos, so the melody winds up and down and rarely follows standard period structure but when it lands it's so fucking satisfying.

I also assume with an good thumbnail the person probably put a ton of effort into the video as well. Most reaction channels don’t put this much effort into a thumbnail so when I saw this one I was like woah that’s so cool!
As a person with adhd, depression, and anxiety I can also relate to this song. There can sometimes feel as though there is a discord in my brain and things just dont quite line up. I have to remind myself to be intentional and honest. Executive functioning is hard.
as someone who's watched Bo from the start, i think if you compare his work now and back then, he used to go on about religion a lot more, and he's mentioned how he grew up in a religious household, and there's a thing where a lot of people who grow up in a religious home, but are athiests, kinda rebel and come to the conclusion that logic, reason and rationality are the only means by which somebody should navigate lfe, but if you've ever met someone like that, they're an asshole. And there have been documented cases of people who, after a brain injury basically lobotomized them (seperated the hemispheres of the brain so there's no neural activity travelling between them) and they basically became emotionless and without an emotional frame of references they became completely unable to make decisions. If two cereals are nutritionally identical, which one do you buy? I buy the one I like the taste of better, which is a subjective, emotional choice. I don't even know where I was going with this, I'm just really high.

I love reaction videos. Seeing people enjoy art that I enjoy is my drug. Not really into video games on TH-cam, but music and comedy. Recently I started watching people react to history focused TH-camrs. Not sure what kind of music you listen to, but Falling in Reverse is incredible, so is any and everything touched by Corey Taylor.

If clever musical comedy is something you enjoy or want to explore more of, I highly highly highly suggest Flight of the Conchords. It’s two dudes from New Zealand and their tv show was on I think HBO. But it is absolutely hysterical. The humor is so so dry and silly and clever and they’re a musical duo and, it’s hard to describe lol. But a good introduction to them would be ‘The Most Beautiful Girl (In The Room)’ I beg of you. I wouldn’t recommend them if I didn’t think that judging by your humor you wouldn’t find them hilarious. I know you will.

I agree with your thoughts on this. It's all about balance. If you spend all your time playing video games, or partying, you're gonna run into issues by ignoring your responsibilities. That results in financial, possibly relationship troubles, car problems if you're not maintaining it, possibly loss of a job. All of this leads to anxiety and worry, which is your route to depression. But if you spend all your time working, taking care of all your responsibilities and not leaving time to relax and be yourself, you will lack the fun and recreation. Life will start to feel meaningless, leading to sadness and emptiness, which is your route to depression. Everyone gotta learn to balance that out.

Hey man, personally I love Bo and his content, but I also enjoy comedy numbers in general and watching people react to my favorite stand-up numbers, as it offers a "sharing the fun" feeling. Bo is exceptional at it because of his musical prowess, but if you wish to lean into this side more, you could check out other, more traditional, comics. You might enjoy looking into Bill Burr or Gabriel Iglesias' numbers. Hope this helps

I love how the hemispheres are never truly separate; Left brain is extremely emotional and insecure but plays it all off as logic. Like how can he say Rubik's Cubes aren't toys? You could react to different TV shows. Blindwave is a channel I watch because I like to hear what they have to say and they watch a lot of content that I do, and having the opportunity to listen to someone else's point of view about something that I have already seen and enjoy is priceless to me. Plus there's a lot of content available already for you to react to. (Brooklyn 99 is just one of the many shows Blindwave has reacted to that I enjoy, they have their patreon set up so you can watch them watch the entire thing but they have a slightly cut down version on youtube without the show in the frame so they can avoid TH-cam copyright)

I'm 31 and I legit know what you going though myself. I made mistake myself with money and stuff epically after my dad died I made a lot of mistakes. And as I got older again easpically now I'm 31 living with my mom I'm starting to understand just how much mistakes I made and how I should of done different. Like keep the money I got after my dad did past so maybe I'm in a better place.

i think your reaction videos are great but honestly i’ve seen so many channels do one reaction vid, see that they got tons of views, and then become solely a reaction channel. which works well for some but i think if you want to be subbed to for YOUR personality and for YOU then my personal recommendation would be only do reactions when you feel like it and make the main focus of your channel your warzone/gaming videos. reactions could potentially get you high numbers but people usually watch bc they like what the channels are reacting TO, not necessarily the channel. either way i hope you do what you enjoy and have fun with it!
Hey man, you did a good job on this one, I enjoyed it, however I want to point out something I think people are totally getting wrong about Bo Burnham, I understand why people might be getting it wrong and I also recognize that it might be me who has it all wrong, but hear me out. I have watched many interviews with Bo over the last number of years and the following is my conclusions based on words straight from the horse’s mouth. Bo Burnham is an artist, an entertainer, one of his main passions is that he enjoys theatrical drama, music, comedy and directing, producing movies. He does indeed suffers from anxiety attacks while performing, this happened quite a few times prior to him doing his Netflix comedy and it is indeed a problem, however, I think many people are misunderstanding things a bit about Bo, while he suffers from these attacks, he has no signs of actually being depressed, comedy was how he started his journey but it simply got to the point that his comedy alone was not fulfilling to him and he decided to quit when his attacks also prevented him from any enjoyment of his art form. Bo’s real passion and interest has been theatrical drama and he just happens to be very good at it, so good in fact that I think many people as a result are mistaking all this as him being some depressed maniac when in truth, Bo has actually learned how to deal with the problems he does have and use it to his advantage. As far as I’m concerned, Bo is a master at creating art overcoming the underlying the issues of the attacks. He is very aware and I believe he has simply learned how to work around these types of issues, he is after all first and foremost a master craftsman. We must all realize and understand that first and foremost, Bo is an entertainer, he ended up taking 5 years off from comedy and spent that time working towards his other passions and interest such as Writing and producing a movie called “Eighth Grade” and then spent 3 years on his next Netflix special “What” and later on “Inside” which are both masterful works of art, it’s what real artist do. So for some reason, people have this idea that Bo has been sitting around alone in some room depressed as hell when in fact, he was just working on other passions, so not sure why everyone says he is depressed, as far as I am concerned, it’s all based on rumors, however, if we all actually take the time and listen to some interviews Bo has done, you will learn more about Bo and better understand that he is not depressed at all, he has masterfully learned how to turn a negative into a positive by him controlling his panic attacks instead of his panic attacks controlling him, get it? Does he still suffer from anxiety attacks, I have no idea, probably but again, he’s learn how to use this to his advantage but depressed he is not. he knows who he is. So please stop with all the rumors of nonsense. And pay attention to the magic of Bo Burnham and just enjoy his amazing talent but stop reading into that drama. Because you all look like fools. Lastly, what Bo could also be considered to be an Educator because he forces us to think beyond the surface, I’ve always said, there are multiple levels and layers to virtually everything in life, there is the surface level, this level is simplistic in nature, it’s quick, sometimes entertainment, and its often entertainment. Then there are deeper levels, the next level might come in the form of hidden message’s or things we on quick glance do not see. On the next level their might be deeper meanings and innuendos that take us even deeper, other levels might make us think even deeper still and on and on it goes and the deeper one goes the more understanding and knowledge we gain for better or worse. Bo is masterful in creating these types of layered works of art because he makes us think things on a much deeper level, these ideas are also used in News, we can’t just take the surface level of what the news is telling us and run with it and expect to actually learn anything, we must take deeper dives and research on our own because the MSM will never in a million years tell you anything other than the noise on the surface level. Anyway, I’m getting on a tangent. And just like Bo, I have a lot of shit to say… LOL

Personally, I watch both for the person (being you in this case, obviously) and the type of content. Personally I find everything you have to say very interesting and find you to be a very entertaining individual. But most multiplayer games like warzone and fortnite are things I'm not very interested in. I have watched the try not to laugh video and did enjoy that and I would personally also watch other gaming videos if the video game itself also interests me more (but obviously the most important part is that you enjoy yourself while playing it) (the thing with try not to laugh videos is that they become way more entertaining and fun when the community sends you the clips to react to, the problem with that is that you do need a relatively large community for that in the first place). I think it's important to find a balance, do things you like but also try to do them in such a way that your audience will like and respond to. I hope you'll find your way here on youtube and are able to keep making content that you love making but that also manages to get views, since that is always the desired outcome. The youtube algorithm is a big problem for variety channels like yours, since youtube mostly likes a content creator making the same type of content all the time... which sucks. As for suggestions of what to react to, idk if you want to continue reacting to music or also other things. If you do want to react to some music I'll give you some suggestions (just artists I personally like since I do not know what type of music you enjoy): cavetown, Alec Benjamin, Grandson & Oliver Tree. Personally I'm not big on war zone stuff or Battle Royale stuff since I'm much more of a RPG guy but I do enjoy your personality. You come off as really cool dude. In terms of reactions, I can see Bill Burr doing well. George Carlin is always going to be relevant. And most Gabriel Iglesias should be good to react and post. Either way those are my other favorite comedians besides Bo

Tim Minchin I think you meant.. He is also a musical comedian with a similar style and very very good. He mostly focuses on religion tho from a non-religious perspective. I'd recommed checking him out too he writes some clever comedy - one of the first reaction videos most people do to his work is a song of his called "Prejudice" (which isnt religion centric but more of a word play and language song) But I'll leave that rabbit hole for you to fall into yourself lol Bo's got a lot more rabbit hole depth left though ahah ..I'd like to see your take on "How the world works" from his inside special.

I am part of the group that only watches the reaction videos, if you want to keep going with comedy reactions or something close to the Bo content I would highly suggest Tim Minchin, the more you dive into his old content, the more apparent it becomes how much Bo got inspired for a lot of his bits, not to mention Tims artistry is on another level. "Prejudice" would be the song I would recommend to get into his stuff with. Hopefully you find the best way for you to keep going with the channel.

Honestly, the stuff I see getting the most views nowadays is TikTok reaction videos, if you're looking for that kind of stuff. Either like saving a bunch of funny ones or going through the FYP--honestly thats something I could personally watch for HOURS. That and TIER LISTS. Tier lists have been pretty popular lately: like foods or games or movies or other people's videos and stuff, which honestly is also pretty fun to watch PFT For gaming, there is always Minecraft HAHA though I get not everyone exactly dreams of being a Minecraft TH-camr. Definitely good for getting people to stay for a longer series though, and its always fun building up your own world
I get it, and I'm part of the problem. I never watched a single reaction video before Inside came out, but now I'm so hyperfixated on Bo that I've watched dozens of reactions to his stuff. I've been a fan of his for a decade but I haven't been this hyperfixated on anything since I was in high school 30 years ago. I watch reactions for two reasons: for interpretations/insights I hadn't heard or considered before, and to vicariously relive the joy I felt hearing his stuff for the first time. So I have a hard time watching reactions to things I am unfamiliar with because it doesn't fulfill either of the two reasons I watch. And I don't seem to be familiar with or interested in most of the current pop culture music and games. The streamers I do watch are usually of the Just Chatting variety on politics, LGBTQ+, atheism, scambaiting, etc. Maybe when this hyperfixation dies down I'll feel more able to branch out. I'll definitely watch your try not to laugh video. Also I wish I'd been able to get my brain halves more balanced when I was your age. But my right brain still fucks up my life on the daily wheeeee.
I don’t know what kind of music you’re into but I’ve heard other creators say the same thing about reacting to Falling in Reverse and also Twenty One Pilots. Their songs are actually VERY complex and have deeper meanings when you really listen and start digging into the lyrics. Also - back to Falling in Reverse - they have reimagined songs that were released back in 2011 but now sound completely different. I like to watch creators that react to the 2011 originals and then immediately react to the new songs. Look up The Drug in Me is You and I’m Not a Vampire.
If you haven’t ever watched much of his content, I think you’d really enjoy George Carlin. He’s a big influence for Bo and you can tell when you watch Carlin then go back to Bo

If you want fans to flock your videos, there is a rapper called NF and he is really great. He raps about life and it all comes from the heart. And his fans are crazy. Also, twenty one pilots have a huge fandom and you’d get a lot of views with those videos. Probably
I recommend that you react to music videos for example; cartoons (cartoon network or anime), youtuber (vtubers or music of TH-camrs) and video game music. Hope that helps if you need more exact examples tell me :)
Bo is a bit of a phenomenon. Gotta find your niche man, but yeah just like seeing what other people think about Bo’s work with all the new Bo fans around. Personally I mostly watch a lot of people’s commentary streams on games like rocket league and Mount and blade. Not really into Warzone and don’t normally watch reactions in general sorry man.

A lot of other reaction channels are seeing the same thing where they get 1 or 2 thousand views per video but then when they review Bo Burnham the video gets 30k views. Bo has such a dedicated fan base that want to see anyone and everyone to watch him. So yes unfortunately most people are just here for Bo. It has nothing to do with the quality of your content. The increase in views is purely due to the subject. You have a lot of good high quality content, please don't doubt yourself! keep going man, you will get more popular with time and luck. but your quality is already really good!

The other caveat is that a lot of people who like Bo have a hard time following pop music, so you're kind of digging into a niche, but the upside is that if you're a decent performer then you can be the one introducing people to new artists because they just like hearing you talk about art

I'm here because I enjoy reaction content for random things I like and generally don't have anyone to discuss it with, Tool or other band reaction videos, comedy reactions, etc.
Finding your voice is big on this platform, and the best example I know of for someone who did find their voice was RTgame. He used to do exclusively Team Fortress 2 videos with the occasional pokemon video, and that's what he was known for. I'd stumbled across him like 4 years ago in a recommended video off of the FT2 promo videos (which I watched occasionally because they are pretty good for just being promos for a game I almost never played), and a few years back he decided to stop doing TF2 content and move to variety, and he took off explosively (randomly popped up in my recommended again after like 2 years). I think all the time he put into making his content and learning the platform while struggling with views or even enjoying his own content paid off whenever he finally matured, gained some self awareness and started doing whatever he wanted to do. Other TH-cam content creators I like, like Huggbees or Critikal, had similar arcs, where they got known for doing one thing, and managed to branch out and find more success doing what they felt like, and knowing the grind well enough to keep improving. They all found their voice after going at it for a while, it took a lot of effort for them, and they all found some help along the way also.
It's obvious you're a thoughtful person, I've already watched all of your reaction videos of Bo Burnham and have enjoyed it, your reactions are pretty sincere. I'm also not into Warzone or Fortnight, battle royale type content, competitive fps content in general isn't what I'm watching (just me personally). I'm not saying you should go all in on being a reaction youtuber- nothing wrong with that if you decide to though, whatever works keep doing it- but I think you could build a community quickly if you're willing to experiment more, stay engaged with your audience and keep working to improve your content. (Btw, uploading these reaction videos is one way you've been staying engaged with your audience, you've got a pulse on something we like and your delivery is enjoyable).

I think as far as your content goes, I love gaming myself. But when it comes down to it, there are hundreds of people doing Bo Burnham reactions these days. But there are litterally 10s, if not hundreds of thousands or millions of people doing Call of Duty or Fortnite content. So people looking for Bo Burnham are more likely to see your content, where as with the popular AAA games, viewers are basically casting a fishing line into the ocean. It's gonna be tough for people to find you. When I started getting traction on TH-cam, (I stopped doing youtube years ago.) I was playing a hunting simulator that hardly anyone ever heard about or did content for. There were like 5 of us at the time, and for a while i was the only one with a mic.

Story time: There’s a really popular TH-camr called clair that started out doing random games that she liked and then decided to play Sims 4 and she blew up. It’s true that now her channel is predominantly sims related since it’s where most of her followers came from but she’s also free to do a lot of other content that we will all watch because we love her now and want her to succeed. The same will happen to you, you’ll see. At the end of the day, if you are still doing something you enjoy, it doesn’t matter what brought us all here, it’s your personable nature and ease in front of the camera that will keep us watching even if it’s not reaction vids :) also, you could, say, react twice a week and game a couple times a week so you are putting out both types of content :)

Honestly timing I think helped a lot with this. Given that the special has only been out a few months and more than one song from it went TikTok viral, it was going to bring a lot of people to YT and websites to see info and reactions to Bo Burnham. So I'd say for content you could try to get into whatever is getting hyped up on TikTok, or has had viral history. For example, both Demi Lovato and Melanie Martinez had new albums last year and both had aspects of their projects go viral on TikTok. Though just keep in mind that certain artists have very active fandoms so be prepared lol

as someone who's watched Bo from the start, i think if you compare his work now and back then, he used to go on about religion a lot more, and he's mentioned how he grew up in a religious household, and there's a thing where a lot of people who grow up in a religious home, but are athiests, kinda rebel and come to the conclusion that logic, reason and rationality are the only means by which somebody should navigate lfe, but if you've ever met someone like that, they're an asshole.
And there have been documented cases of people who, after a brain injury basically lobotomized them (seperated the hemispheres of the brain so there's no neural activity travelling between them) and they basically became emotionless and without an emotional frame of references they became completely unable to make decisions. If two cereals are nutritionally identical, which one do you buy? I buy the one I like the taste of better, which is a subjective, emotional choice.

I love reaction videos. Seeing people enjoy art that I enjoy is my drug. Not really into video games on TH-cam, but music and comedy. Recently I started watching people react to history focused TH-camrs.

If clever musical comedy is something you enjoy or want to explore more of, I highly highly highly suggest Flight of the Conchords. It’s two dudes from New Zealand and their tv show was on I think HBO. But it is absolutely hysterical. The humor is so so dry and silly and clever and they’re a musical duo and, it’s hard to describe lol. But a good introduction to them would be ‘The Most Beautiful Girl (In The Room)’

I agree with your thoughts on this. It's all about balance. If you spend all your time playing video games, or partying, you're gonna run into issues by ignoring your responsibilities. That results in financial, possibly relationship troubles, car problems if you're not maintaining it, possibly loss of a job. All of this leads to anxiety and worry, which is your route to depression. But if you spend all your time working, taking care of all your responsibilities and not leaving time to relax and be yourself, you will lack the fun and recreation. Life will start to feel meaningless, leading to sadness and emptiness, which is your route to depression. Everyone gotta learn to balance that out.

Hey man, personally I love Bo and his content, but I also enjoy comedy numbers in general and watching people react to my favorite stand-up numbers, as it offers a "sharing the fun" feeling. Bo is exceptional at it because of his musical prowess, but if you wish to lean into this side more, you could check out other, more traditional, comics. You might enjoy looking into Bill Burr or Gabriel Iglesias' numbers. Hope this helps

I love how the hemispheres are never truly separate; Left brain is extremely emotional and insecure but plays it all off as logic. Like how can he say Rubik's Cubes aren't toys? And what kind of objectivity is "I'm the adult and you are the child."? Whereas Right Brain is saying things that are objectively true but just putting more feeling INTO them. Blindwave is a channel I watch because I like to hear what they have to say and they watch a lot of content that I do, and having the opportunity to listen to someone else's point of view about something that I have already seen and enjoy is priceless to me. Plus there's a lot of content available already for you to react to. (Brooklyn 99 is just one of the many shows Blindwave has reacted to that I enjoy, they have their patreon set up so you can watch them watch the entire thing but they have a slightly cut down version on youtube without the show in the frame so they can avoid TH-cam copyright)

I'm 31 and I legit know what you going though myself. I made mistake myself with money and stuff epically after my dad died I made a lot of mistakes. And as I got older again easpically now I'm 31 living with my mom I'm starting to understand just how much mistakes I made and how I should of done different. Like keep the money I got after my dad did past so maybe I'm in a better place.

i think your reaction videos are great but honestly i’ve seen so many channels do one reaction vid, see that they got tons of views, and then become solely a reaction channel. which works well for some but i think if you want to be subbed to for YOUR personality and for YOU then my personal recommendation would be only do reactions when you feel like it and make the main focus of your channel your warzone/gaming videos. reactions could potentially get you high numbers but people usually watch bc they like what the channels are reacting TO, not necessarily the channel. either way i hope you do what you enjoy and have fun with it!

Hey man, you did a good job on this one, I enjoyed it, however I want to point out something I think people are totally getting wrong about Bo Burnham, I understand why people might be getting it wrong and I also recognize that it might be me who has it all wrong, but hear me out.
I have watched many interviews with Bo over the last number of years and the following is my conclusions based on words straight from the horse’s mouth.
Bo Burnham is an artist, an entertainer, one of his main passions is that he enjoys theatrical drama, music, comedy and directing, producing movies.
He does indeed suffers from anxiety attacks while performing, this happened quite a few times prior to him doing his Netflix comedy and it is indeed a problem, however, I think many people are misunderstanding things a bit about Bo, while he suffers from these attacks, he has no signs of actually being depressed, comedy was how he started his journey but it simply got to the point that his comedy alone was not fulfilling to him and he decided to quit when his attacks also prevented him from any enjoyment of his art form.
Bo’s real passion and interest has been theatrical drama and he just happens to be very good at it, so good in fact that I think many people as a result are mistaking all this as him being some depressed maniac when in truth, Bo has actually learned how to deal with the problems he does have and use it to his advantage. As far as I’m concerned, Bo is a master at creating art overcoming the underlying the issues of the attacks. He is very aware and I believe he has simply learned how to work around these types of issues, he is after all first and foremost a master craftsman.
We must all realize and understand that first and foremost, Bo is an entertainer, he ended up taking 5 years off from comedy and spent that time working towards his other passions and interest such as Writing and producing a movie called “Eighth Grade” and then spent 3 years on his next Netflix special “What” and later on “Inside” which are both masterful works of art, it’s what real artist do.
So for some reason, people have this idea that Bo has been sitting around alone in some room depressed as hell when in fact, he was just working on other passions, so not sure why everyone says he is depressed, as far as I am concerned, it’s all based on rumors, however, if we all actually take the time and listen to some interviews Bo has done, you will learn more about Bo and better understand that he is not depressed at all, he has masterfully learned how to turn a negative into a positive by him controlling his panic attacks instead of his panic attacks controlling him, get it? Does he still suffer from anxiety attacks, I have no idea, probably but again, he’s learn how to use this to his advantage but depressed he is not. he knows who he is. So please stop with all the rumors of nonsense. And pay attention to the magic of Bo Burnham and just enjoy his amazing talent but stop reading into that drama. Because you all look like fools.
Lastly, what Bo could also be considered to be an Educator because he forces us to think beyond the surface, I’ve always said, there are multiple levels and layers to virtually everything in life, there is the surface level, this level is simplistic in nature, it’s quick, sometimes entertainment, and its often entertainment. Then there are deeper levels, the next level might come in the form of hidden message’s or things we on quick glance do not see. On the next level their might be deeper meanings and innuendos that take us even deeper, other levels might make us think even deeper still and on and on it goes and the deeper one goes the more understanding and knowledge we gain for better or worse.
Bo is masterful in creating these types of layered works of art because he makes us think things on a much deeper level, these ideas are also used in News, we can’t just take the surface level of what the news is telling us and run with it and expect to actually learn anything, we must take deeper dives and research on our own because the MSM will never in a million years tell you anything other than the noise on the surface level. Anyway, I’m getting on a tangent. And just like Bo, I have a lot of shit to say… LOL

Personally, I watch both for the person (being you in this case, obviously) and the type of content. Personally I find everything you have to say very interesting and find you to be a very entertaining individual. But most multiplayer games like warzone and fortnite are things I'm not very interested in. I have watched the try not to laugh video and did enjoy that and I would personally also watch other gaming videos if the video game itself also interests me more (but obviously the most important part is that you enjoy yourself while playing it)
(the thing with try not to laugh videos is that they become way more entertaining and fun when the community sends you the clips to react to, the problem with that is that you do need a relatively large community for that in the first place).
I think it's important to find a balance, do things you like but also try to do them in such a way that your audience will like and respond to. I hope you'll find your way here on youtube and are able to keep making content that you love making but that also manages to get views, since that is always the desired outcome.
The youtube algorithm is a big problem for variety channels like yours, since youtube mostly likes a content creator making the same type of content all the time... which sucks.
As for suggestions of what to react to, idk if you want to continue reacting to music or also other things. If you do want to react to some music I'll give you some suggestions (just artists I personally like since I do not know what type of music you enjoy): cavetown, Alec Benjamin, Grandson & Oliver Tree.

In terms of reactions, I can see Bill Burr doing well. George Carlin is always going to be relevant. And most Gabriel Iglesias should be good to react and post. Either way those are my other favorite comedians besides Bo

I'd recommed checking him out too he writes some clever comedy - one of the first reaction videos most people do to his work is a song of his called "Prejudice" (which isnt religion centric but more of a word play and language song) But I'll leave that rabbit hole for you to fall into yourself lol

It is up to you to decide the balance of your content with what is getting you more views and what you enjoy doing yourself. I am part of the group that only watches the reaction videos, if you want to keep going with comedy reactions or something close to the Bo content I would highly suggest Tim Minchin, the more you dive into his old content, the more apparent it becomes how much Bo got inspired for a lot of his bits, not to mention Tims artistry is on another level. "Prejudice" would be the song I would recommend to get into his stuff with. Hopefully you find the best way for you to keep going with the channel.

Honestly, the stuff I see getting the most views nowadays is TikTok reaction videos, if you're looking for that kind of stuff. Either like saving a bunch of funny ones or going through the FYP--honestly thats something I could personally watch for HOURS. That and TIER LISTS. Tier lists have been pretty popular lately: like foods or games or movies or other people's videos and stuff, which honestly is also pretty fun to watch PFT
For gaming, there is always Minecraft HAHA though I get not everyone exactly dreams of being a Minecraft TH-camr. Definitely good for getting people to stay for a longer series though, and its always fun building up your own world

I get it, and I'm part of the problem. I never watched a single reaction video before Inside came out, but now I'm so hyperfixated on Bo that I've watched dozens of reactions to his stuff. I've been a fan of his for a decade but I haven't been this hyperfixated on anything since I was in high school 30 years ago. I watch reactions for two reasons: for interpretations/insights I hadn't heard or considered before, and to vicariously relive the joy I felt hearing his stuff for the first time. So I have a hard time watching reactions to things I am unfamiliar with because it doesn't fulfill either of the two reasons I watch. And I don't seem to be familiar with or interested in most of the current pop culture music and games. The streamers I do watch are usually of the Just Chatting variety on politics, LGBTQ+, atheism, scambaiting, etc. Maybe when this hyperfixation dies down I'll feel more able to branch out. I'll definitely watch your try not to laugh video.
Also I wish I'd been able to get my brain halves more balanced when I was your age. But my right brain still fucks up my life on the daily wheeeee.

I don’t know what kind of music you’re into but I’ve heard other creators say the same thing about reacting to Falling in Reverse and also Twenty One Pilots. Their songs are actually VERY complex and have deeper meanings when you really listen and start digging into the lyrics. Also - back to Falling in Reverse - they have reimagined songs that were released back in 2011 but now sound completely different. I like to watch creators that react to the 2011 originals and then immediately react to the new songs. Look up The Drug in Me is You and I’m Not a Vampire.
You should definitely check out Ninja Sex Party (comedy muscians) and Starbomb (video game comedy songs) they are also apart of Game Grumps.

If you want fans to flock your videos, there is a rapper called NF and he is really great. He raps about life and it all comes from the heart. And his fans are crazy. Also, twenty one pilots have a huge fandom and you’d get a lot of views with those videos. Probably
I recommend that you react to music videos for example; cartoons (cartoon network or anime), youtuber (vtubers or music of TH-camrs) and video game music.
