It wasn't the owners who pulled the league out of the Olympics, it was because the NHL, IIHF, and IOC could not reach an agreement on who would pay the cost of insurance for all of those contracts for that period of time. There are no injuries that playing through would actually help. In that same presser that Bednar talked about him playing through something he also mentioned that he is already not practicing, so yeah the two weeks off would definitely help him. Since he's a pro, you know that if he did skip out on the tourney he wouldn't spend more than a weekend on vacation, he'd be in the facility doing the treatments necessary to get as close to 100% as is possible mid season.
@@LockedOnAvalanche fine, if you want to look at it that way. why would the owners want to participate? they're assuming all the risks and not sharing in any of the profit? they don't get a cut of merch or ticket sales or tv rights or anything like that. yet they are letting hundreds of millions of dollars in contracts risk injury playing for a team that isn't theirs.
When Toews was interviewed by Sportsnet a couple of days ago it sounded like he'd cancel his family holiday to somewhere warm if he as asked to play (which by the way as an excellent interview)!!
Byram has been playing well this season for Sabres . The Sabres defense has been driving all their offense last bunch of games . Guys like Peterka-Cozens and quinn have been horrible all season long . Im a HUGE Byram fan but i got AVS -4 Sabres-3
I dont think we should be sending any players to the four nations cup, what an absolutely stupid idea to put a "competetive tourney?" in the middle of the season. yes. it is not the olympics, but when atheletes compete for their country it becomes harder to hold back with national pride is on the line. potential injuries are not worth the risk. Back in the olden days of hockey, the Canada Cup was at the end of summer, injuries were a risk then but it was not in the middle of the season. it is true the all star weekend has become lame, but if you need to showcase your superstars, they should go back to the 3v3 tourney format. i predict this will be the only four nations cup.

Right, so the owners pulled out. And they wouldn't let them promote individual players
From the way it sounds it just sounds like a management thing and I have taken time off to rehab injuries as well and it didn’t help

@briggsy5893 I didn't say I disagreed with them. Just said they pulled out of it
Shaggy, looking forward to your solo adventure next week. I promise the nitpicking will be very gracious 😉
Sticks and stones lol I can’t be hurt more than I already am Kuba 😂

Great interview. You really see how humble he is
@@LockedOnAvalanche No wonder he gets on so well with Cale. Peas in a pod!
The Avs currently have 3 more points than the Sharks. Oy. They need to go on an Oilers-from-last-season style winning streak.

Yes he should.
Then it’s settled lol
No, play him. This tournament may not be the olympics, but it's going to be exciting.

still so mad about juice
Lol as Americans, of course you would want him to sit it out😂
To benefit the US team? Gotta be honest, not one Avs player will be playing for team USA, so it has my rooting interest split.
I would say sit out because it’s not called the US vs Everyone tourney lol
@@LockedOnAvalanche would you rather he sat out if he were playing for the U.S team?
@@chemguy5468 I wouldn't have any difference of opinion on it
