    Very nice video, Mikael. The truck looks so cool at the beautiful harbour - you sure gave it a hard time on those rocks! Great looking truck, and so far so good - no fires!!! (haha - reference to another 6x6 video!) Glad you showed us this one mate! :))

      Thanks, Mark. I had fun making this video. I love the looks of these little trucks and they are fun to run. I'll leave the upgrading, paint jobs and weathering to other channels though. MY Tamiyas come first :-) Ohh, fire?

    Nice video. I grew up in China and the Chinese in the 50's and 60's had been licensed to produce this truck under an agreement with the Soviet factory. In fact this was THE truck in my childhood years. I just ordered a dark green version and was wondering how realistically it will run. This is by far the best video of this toy. I plan to up grade but I have a much better idea how it will perform out of the box now thanks to you.

    • @NordicRC
      @NordicRC 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Very happy to hear all the video work was useful :-) Nice, didn't know it was produced in China as well. Hope you will be happy with yours. And yeah, could definitely need some upgrades, especially in terms of a servo. Thanks a lot for watching, mate :-)

    hi , i got one of these for my kid, and i think there is some issue with the battery/charger. The light on the charger starts fading after i plug the battery in , and it completely goes off after 30 minutes. The charger is warm for the 3 hours that i leave it charging , but the battery doesn't seem to hold a 100% charge, the play time is only 5-10 minutes. Is that the normal behavior for the battery for you truck also?

    • @NordicRC
      @NordicRC 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi! Ohh, no, I haven't had a similar problem, but I have also only had it for a couple of runs/charge cycles. I can't remember right now what the charger lights are supposed to do, but this one definitely runs more than 10 minutes for me, for the couple of runs I've had with it. Sometimes a new battery, especially the Ni-Cads needs a little more charging the first couple of times. Best thing is to measure the volts on the battery after charging to check if they are fully charged.

    • @NordicRC
      @NordicRC 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, I’ve seen both some cool paint jobs and upgrade projects of these small trucks. One could even make some cool little crawlers out of them with some shocks, as you say and some new electronics. Thanks for watching!

  • @christophercoconis2575
    @christophercoconis2575 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Cool little rig Mikael! Could be a sick little crawler with the 6x6 setup?

    • @NordicRC
      @NordicRC 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, would be fun. I think the leaf springs would be a problem for challenging crawling, but with upgraded electronics and some paint/weathering it could be a real cool realistic scale truck/runner. Thanks for watching, my good friend.

      Nordic RC Visions I agree with a little effort and proper running gear and suspension be a sweet truck..Maybe over the long winter after the Tamiya projects get wrapped up.. lol Well hope you have a great weekend my good friend!! I'm off to do some painting on the Blackfoot and do the MIP Super Diff conversion and add a mild 3000kv/45amp brushless system to it!! Oh I scored a Tamiya Astute off of EBay last week got it for a less then the cost for a Gool brushless system 😊 Just needs tires and a cleaning and a new body later on to be mint!!

    I know the steering is not proportional, just a shame they did make the throttle proportional if nothing else.

    • @NordicRC
      @NordicRC 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      A shame they didn’t make both the throttle and steering proportional. But still an amazing looking body, and the electronics can be upgraded. I like the new ones from both WPL and JJRC with proportional control out-of-the-box better though.

      Nordic RC Visions it is sweet! This one was upgrade by original owner. Seems to have GH shocks and a Novak motor and esc. Super balance, responsive as can be in jumps.

  • @8urgerkingfoot931
    @8urgerkingfoot931 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    no way that is straight out the box. got mince and it can barleyclimb a dvd cover. really needs a 20 a esc and the upgraded motor+ upgraded suspension.
    and that looks like you already plugged in a porportional steering and throttle. its a good truck for the money but really needs sum upgrades to it

    • @NordicRC
      @NordicRC 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nope, trust me (or don't), this one is all stock. In the videos I've seen the truck performs very similar. Like this from Tomley: th-cam.com/video/iL9ipZwnruE/w-d-xo.html ... You will have some trouble in fine dirt and some trouble climbing because of the differential. Runs fine when there is grip, like on the rocks in this video (as you can clearly see, the rocks in the video is on a road, with pavement and rocks, not just loose rocks). It's not really a crawler or a climber, but performs quite well on flat ground.

  • @MhWow66

    Shame you slowed the video to replicate a better realistic speed....it only has 2 speed settings..full or off....and 2 steering settings..full or nothing.
    If you could change the board and transmitter to have variable speed and steering and did some weathering it would be much better...as is..its a toy.

  • @pasijuntunen3572
    @pasijuntunen3572 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    • @NordicRC
      @NordicRC 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, nearly all these 1/16 4WD Military Trucks come with this steering. And most people change them to a servo. So what do you mean with "isn't so hard what video seems"?
