G-man later discovered that Corporal Adrian Shephard died in his "prefect stasis" from eating a contaminated chocolate bar, when asked g-man replied "Indeed, this was an unforeseen consequence.".
"Tell my brother to wipe the hard drive on my computer" And tell him not to join the army, and meet that guy in the suit. It will begin and end in disaster.
"Shephard's Mind" is now my new headcanon for cpr Adrian Shephard: a wrong individual in a very wrong place at a very, VERY wrong time; a man who didn't even want to be in HECU, who was assigned there at the very last moment before Black Mesa went nuts; smarter and more morally aware than most of the grunts in his unit; one who sometimes gets overwhelmed by the chain of events around him; but at the same time one who knows when duty calls and knows how to adapt and find a way out of seemingly hopeless situation. I hope that if he returns, he'll be Freeman's ally, since as it was pointed out - he never really had a chance to learn WHY they are after him (blown out of his chopper before briefing was finished, only heard about Freeman a few times, never got anything explained right).
It would be so awesome to have a Episode where Freeman's Mind, Barney's Mind and Shephard's Mind meet together. Although Barney's Mind and Shephard's Mind are over since 3 years. :/
It's worth keeping in mind that while someone like Cpl. Shepard probably wouldn't be as smart as someone like Gordon Freeman, he'd still be a fairly intelligent person to have made it in the HECU. Units that handle CBRN situations, like the HECU does, look for people who are quick, critical thinkers (they'll be the guys everyone looks to when gas rounds are exploding all around them), and have a strong interest in science and technology (as they have to understand the science behind the weapons they're protecting their comrades from). My headcanon for Cpl Shepard was that he's such an individual; someone who with a strong interest in science (though not enough to entirely dedicate his life to it the way Freeman did), who's also aggressive enough to take action in and fight his way out of hazardous environments.
+DWSimmy Actually Adrian was never interested in science in the first place. When HECU military assigned Adrian and his team for an unknown mission in Black Mesa, Adrian wrote in his diary that he thinks the BM research facility "doesn't sound too exciting to me" or that the mission there "doesn't seem to have much excitement potential". He says he wanted to try something more on combat. Also, keep in mind he was only 22-years old, a young dude who should be on university study right now. 16:56 "And nothing if value was lost." G-Man; Quite so. Damnit it's been five years and I'm still noticing more pieces of dialogue that fit with Shephard's commentary. You were truly a mastermind.
"Black Mesa is the only place in the world where I can tell someone I'm a DM and they won't know if I mean Designated Marksman or Dungeon Master" best quote of the series

I remember watching this series as a kid, just started middle school. Only had about 11-13 episodes back then, but I was obsessed with it. Out of all of the Mind's Series, Krim's "Shephards's Mind" was always my favorite. And after coming back and binging all 3 in as many weeks for old times' sake, I can honestly say that it still is.
Captain Wealthy Penis Yes it would be awesome if they combine all Weapons, enemies and other stuff from Half Life, Half Life Opposing Force and Half Life 2 to create a great Half Life 3 Game.
Fact: At the end of the Portal 2 co-op, when the test subjects are being scanned, the scanner monitor will eventually display the name 'Adrian Shephard'. Coincidence or easter egg? Or maybe a teaser for a canon Opposing Force 2? Who knows? Who cares? We're just here for Shephard's Mind.
I always feel so bad when it comes to Shephards ending. All that shit he's done, and the government keeps him in a place where he cannot run, hide, and no one knows he's alive.
It's not the Government. The government doesen't employ some weird time bending alien in a suit with a briefcase.G-man's employers are probably some unknown space corporation that we don't know of that sells planets.
+MultiBloxy actually gman has been known to pull strings in the government he's the one who got hecu to kill those scientists he's shown talking to scientists, soldiers and even a security guard at black Mesa
I was actually hoping that Lydia would have another brief cameo at the end by piping up from a dark corner of the chopper and saying something snarky and sarcastic.
If there is ever an Opposing Force 2, or even another appearance of Adrian Shephard in a future Half Life. I really, really hope Adrian gets to keep his two bugs.
I've never watched these other ones because at the time I didnt find the comedy to match FM. But I just got done with this and loved it. Now onto Barney's Mind.
Technically, he's not. By the time Opposing Force starts, Freeman is already (by my approximation) past the part that Freeman's Mind is currently at (near the desert cliffs). The only three ways to judge Freeman's progress during this time: At the beginning you see the cliffs with no soldiers on them, meaning they got killed by Freeman. Next you see a radio transmission that Freeman hears. Then you see him jump into zen, which is near the end of the game for him but you're barely halfway.
Wait so Shepard learned how to at least understand what Sparky and whatever the other alien he has is saying in the last what 5/10 episodes? Seems legit
Sparky: Hey, squidward, you wanna point that barnacle at this dudes face for kidnapping us? Squidward: Aww hell yeah man, fuck this guy. Shephard: Oh fine I'll go fire the laser turrets, I love you guys
*Shepard starts giving awesome bad ass speech* *awesome music begins to play* Me: this is going to be bad ass..... Shepard: Ow! leg cramp Me: ..... you freaking ruined it Shepard!....
Damn all this mind stuff is old, nostalgia trip. Never saw this series before, looked at some of your older episodes then jumped to your last one to see how your style changed over time. Honestly, I'd say by the end of this series you got SO close to the quality Scott had in his series, it really would be cool to see you do a new "Mind" series. I wager you'd be even better by the end of that one.
I just realized... After 9 FUCKING YEARS the song you're playing is an INSTRUMENTAL of 'Ballad of Clay Carmine' from Miracle of Sound. Krim, you are a man of culture.

That was fantastic. From start to finish, I enjoyed every bit of it. Very satisfying conclusion, granted the ending is ambiguous at best otherwise. Amazing job and very well done all along the way.

I'm looking forward to Season 2, and good luck in all your future endeavors :D
+Mega P.fans I hope, too, but I'm not very optimistic. This game was done by Gearbox, not Valve, so the rights to Shephard's character probably belong to Gearbox and Valve can't use him even if they wanted to.
