Collaborating for Circularity in the Aluminium Value Chain: Benedetta Nucci, European Aluminium

Benedetta Nucci, Senior Manager Mobility & Life Cycle Assessment with European Aluminium, did not participate in the EU-funded SALEMA project. But in March 2024 she moderated SALEMA’s final event session on #aluminium #circularity to help make the #automotive sector more #sustainable.
With her background in environmental management and footprinting as well as #lifecycleassessment and experience as a European Commission DG Environment policy officer, the SALEMA team took a few minutes to get her views on what the project achieved by:
• bringing together partners from across the value chain
• designing, creating and testing new low-CRM (#criticalrawmaterial) / high-recycled content aluminium alloys;
• using the SALEMA alloys in standard industrial processes to create structural car parts and validate that they meet the high-performance needs of #electricvehicles.
