Mercedes-Benz Vision AVTR is a concept car by Mercedes-Benz inspired by the 2009 movie Avatar by James Cameron.
About
The acronym AVTR stands for advance vision transportation, but it is also a reference to the 2009 film Avatar. [4]
The entire rear end of the AVTR is covered in 33 discrete scales, so called "bionic flaps" used to communicate with people outside the car. It also has special spherical wheels that were inspired by the "seeds of the Tree of Souls" from 2009’s Avatar. These wheels can rotate so that the AVTR can move sideways, or even diagonally. [2]
The car does not have a steering wheel. Since this futuristic car is autonomous, there is no need for one. Instead, passengers interact with the car through an oval-shaped controller that accordions up and out of the center console to meet a driver's hand. Once a hand is on the controller, it and the seats can vibrate along with the pace of driver's breathing and heart rate. Once passengers start moving in the AVTR car, the sweeping display in front of them can light up with 3D graphics of Pandora, the fictional world from the 2009 film Avatar. Back-seat riders have access to learning-oriented gaming and a "child-friendly augmented reality experience." [2]
The concept car is "powered" by graphene-based organic battery cells that do not require rare earth minerals, which may one day be compostable, and the interior is made from recycled plastics and vegan leather. [2]
Mercedes-Benz unveiled car in January 2020 at the 2020 Consumer Electronics Show. [3] Avatar director James Cameron collaborated with Mercedes to create the car, and took the stage alongside it. "I see a future where we continue to co-evolve with our technology... we will merge, we will absorb it and it will become such a natural part of our lives," said Cameron. [4]

@@MrAequitas Это называется "монтаж". Там склейка из нескольких роликов. Как он будет поварачивать если руля и рулевой тяги нет в принципе?! У него передние колеса тупо не поварачивают. В начале ролика посмотрите раму - там это прекрасно видно.

Reminds of the time my dad brought home my Christmas present when I was 9. Opened it up and asked why he got me carpet, he said of course you can't have it like that. You gotta boil it first.
? The guy could have spent this time actually with his son instead of building an over weight ego piece that the son can't even operate and the battery properly last about 2 mins. The son would value his time more

This is a real work of art. The author has golden hands. As a person engaged in the direction of "DIY", I can say that not everyone will be able to master such a project. The time and financial costs are simply enormous. And as for the skills, the author is just a genius. Thank you for your work, it's a pity that you didn't show the details of connecting the electric drive to the wheels.
All I can think about it how everything is made out of exotic hardwood. A sheet of crappy composite wood chip board at my local hardware store is at minimum, $30. A wall stud for framing, $6. The wood this guy used would cost as much as the real car, if he bought it where I live.

Initially I thought that this was just going to be someone who is super well equipped(3-d printers, cnc and what not). But nope, just an extremely talented wood carver with cool ideas. So good

Потрясно и просто невероятно! Сколько труда вложено. Не знаю, какое использовалось дерево, но должно быть очень тяжелая машина получилась. Но видимо каким материалом владеем, то и используем. С моей точки зрения использовать пенопласт и стеклоткань с эпоксидкой более эффективно, обработка проще, корпус легче, но у каждого свое мнение.
красное дерево, твердость почти как у железа, и да тяжелое, но фактический вечное, не боится не воды не термитов, из этого материала делают буддистские храмы и статуя, сотни лет стоят.
Смысл не просто сделать тачку, а сделать ее из дерева. Посмотри как называется канал и чем занимается человек. Как по мне - гениально трудолюбивый.

He is a brave soul to weld with sandals on he deserves all the respect
trust me, my mothers' stepfather is Vietnamese aswell, he and his brothers are probly the most fearless workers we've ever seen, our old house had a sloped driveway up to the house itself, at like maybe 10°, ye not too much but they fixed our windows' roller shutter after a storm broke it once, and they set up a rack to work on, without any protection or securing it against it tipping over, only one small piece of wood to stand on and they were still just working in their sandals, pretty much standing on the tips of their toes, me and my mom didn't wanna look outside as it worried the fuck out of us, thankfully nothing went wrong, and thankfully they've survived as my moms' stepfather has fallen atleast 3 times off of a rack, and in the worst case only broke his collarbone, which was the only time he got seriously hurt
they also install HVAC systems like that, and they also weld in their sandals, only using a welding mask for their eyes
these men are serious workmen, i've only got respect for that
they're pmuch like lets get this job done without really thinking about themselves

The unvarnished treated hardwood model would be suitable as a foundation for building a negative mould into which epoxy body components would be placed.
