I wonder why they have such low views when their content has always been top notch. Especially the 300ZX and Ferrari series, the videos average like 150k a video which is crazy
Too late. They got big sponsors which allow them to do bigger builds with bigger budgets. That's great until it isn't. Now they are at the mercy and whims of their sponsors. They won't bite the hand that feeds them. Always a dilemma when you grow big and accept the money. You either sell out or stray true to your roots.. rarely can one do both, successfully.
Grabbed my 06 EVO IX brand new at the dealership with 3 miles on the dash. Fast forward to now (2024) sitting at 68k non molested with the exception of a nice tune and full exhaust o2 back. I have teens kids now, and it’s funny to me how they and there friends think it’s super cool how I have a car from the fast and furious movies lol. Stay safe homies, and fellow EVO owners 🙏🏼
EEVVVOOOO!!! I love that you guys listened to the fan base and decided to keep this clean. Please don't ever go corporate. After this let's move onto a Saab, I will not give up on this lol
Pop the hood. So many memories. This was my dream car for so many years. I wanted one in 2003 the year i graduated. But couldnt afford it. Still cant today. They are timeless cars in my opinion.
paint correct and polish, carbon pieces, nice exhaust tone, upgraded suspension, intake noises, an up to date tune with a nice set of wheels and this will be a perfect oem+ evo.
Love the yellow. All front fenders are alloy on evo 7,8,9. Its a good idea to overfill your transfer and rear diff gear oils. I made a video about this... filling thru the drain plug! because its easy to accidentally under fill especially the transfer case
Bought my 1st Evo in 2003 was the 2nd person to register one in California. The 1st was Mitsubishi and it was a press car that was blue, my Evo 8 was white. Good Times, traded it for an Evo 9 MR in 2006 😎👍
6:01 Hey, it's super helpful to take off the oil fill cap before draining the oil. Also leave the filter off when draining the pan, it allows for a better, more complete removal! Surprised you didn't honestly. Just my HO, i'm no master tech, but have worked for dealerships and oil companies. Cheers!!
I love this show. I wish I had a car to fix up or even just have one lol. You guys do such good work, and you guys put top notch parts in them. Thank you throtl for giving me a dream to think about whenever I can get a car.
The transfer case isn’t always full when it comes out the fill hole. It’s best to pump slow, cap it and wait a bit then Check again. Sometimes it needs to be driven slowly around the block and topped off. Please check out EvolutionM forum for threads on what I’m commenting about . Also fluids that I’ve found that work the best in my 03 is 2x MT-90 and 1 MTL by redline for the trans, Heavy shockproof for the T case and 75w90 for the rear diff or 80w140.
I have always wanted one of these, since i first seen them at a dealership. Never been able to afford one. It's a long shot, but i might have to buy a shirt, and just pray. Hope you keep it yellow with red brakes.
Soo excited for this build, really glad you kept the OEM wheels! Always love Ricky and Quinn's bickering haha, they are like an old married couple. Always crack me up!
Make sure tcase fluids are properly filled. I think people fill through the drain hole so that it takes the full quart. Don't want run it with low fluid and develop a death whine.
Got to love Quin so I hate to be such a nitpicky nerd but dielectric literally means non-conducting. So dielectric grease is just to help protect electrical contacts. Not directly help them conduct better.
pretty sure the strut brace is stock, if I remember from my '06. OEM+ is the way, including all the better EVO IX stuff (turbo, etc). Maybe BBS SE wheels restored. JDM bumper.
Ricky and Quin's vibes are absolutely unmatched. The fact that they so professional and yet keep clowning around. I absolutely love it!
Never go mega corporate Throtl
To late.
Unfortunately this already happened.
is this a Donut roast?

great choice for OEM plus. This thing is a beauty. Gonna look amazing in my driveway next to my Evo X when i win ;) Can't wait for more Evo content.
So watch Devin’s videos he literally just finished one that’s OEM plus
I can't wait to see those calipers cleaned up and the paint fixed
Coming in an upcoming episode!
Ricky you lie! My 04 STi had a factory intercooler sprayer! Boom!

That's the plan! Except a brand new paint job!
@@throtl can't wait
Sti did in fact have the intercooler spray button 😂
On the s209
@@Bustin-Cider69nah my 06 sti has it
All STI models have it lol
Factory installed on my 2005 STI.
My 1998 STi has factory water spray.
Quinn with that kick move to lift the tire was clean af
“The clear coat is gone for lunch” had me dead 😂
Ricky is too funny 😂
love the plan to go OEM+
OMG my favorite car ever. Wanted one every since they came out and import tubers were a thing. Please make this beauty a beast.
Subaru's did actually have that intercooler spray option as well on the STi.
ahh man, the cameo Will callout at the end! Need that guy back for some guest appearances!
One of my all time favourite cars , nice choice guys 👍🏻👍🏻🇬🇧

Ricky and quin always make for a great video haha. Very entertaining stuff! Torqued to spec!!
My favorite type of build. Not doing too much. That's what I'm hoping for the Jetta mk4 I'm currently driving
14:30 the way Quin stood up that tire, full on grease monkey move.
Just got a set of these Evo 8 wheels on MP, really excited to refinish them!

One of my favorite cars of all time. I love the yellow too. Would love to win this one!
draining out quality oem gear oil and putting in cheap wrong oil is CRAAAZZZY work
I love this show. I wish I had a car to fix up or even just have one lol. You guys do such good work, and you guys put top notch parts in them. Thank you throtl for giving me a dream to think about whenever I can get a car.
So cool you are going for OEM+. Those stock wheels look amazing. ❤
"See? anyone can do Quinns job" technically yes, but no one does it like Quinn's, mad love and respect for ma dude quinn🤌

OEM are just refreshing and look good
OEM+ build. I'm sure cool parts and improvements have come along since this car has been out. 💪🏆
3:01 I like this new approach for this channel! You should do at least 4 a year of these. The next one should be Ricky's AE86 please!!!
I have always wanted one of these, since i first seen them at a dealership. Never been able to afford one. It's a long shot, but i might have to buy a shirt, and just pray. Hope you keep it yellow with red brakes.
Top 5 of all time on my list
Oreilly's oil, k&n filter and master pro tranny fluid? What happened to oem build?
Soo excited for this build, really glad you kept the OEM wheels! Always love Ricky and Quinn's bickering haha, they are like an old married couple. Always crack me up!
I had an 04 Evo 8 in Silver. I definitely miss it.
Ricky the STI also has water spray
18x10 Volks, coilovers, JDM rear bumper, FBO engine upgrades, done.
Make sure tcase fluids are properly filled. I think people fill through the drain hole so that it takes the full quart. Don't want run it with low fluid and develop a death whine.
Definitely one of my dream cars
OEM+ Thank goodness 🙏🏼
Change the rear bumper for the japanese version. For the front use only the front lip.
Yooooo now TJ and THROTL have matching evos😍💛
Should we race them?
@@throtl you shoulddd
Ricky, all of them have aluminum hood, and front fenders including that car. MR and SE got aluminum roof.
, nice job 👍🏻
I prefer them in white, first one I saw was in 1997, a white Evo IV in a yard of hundreds of imports.
🙌🙌 I’m praying
Oem plus. I'm looking forward to it
Oem+ with carbon bits is the way to go! 500whp now you cooking
Always liked EVO’s. Almost bought a X in 2015 but the dealership was playing games.
Love the Quinn and Ricky vibe. Need me a work wife like that
Ricky is the best part of this channel.
I have been waiting for this build ALL MY LIFE YOU HEAR?
STi DOES HAVE INTERCOOLER SPRAYER, same year as the Evo, it came with the little tank and the I/C Sprayer button.
Love the EVO!!
Quinn and Ricky tag teams never fails 😂😂 19:48
i’m buying so much merch!! an evo is my dream car!
Definitely the most excited I've been about a giveaway car in a long time!
The 2004 Subaru STI did come with an Intercooler sprayer.
Evo rally build boys!
I love car but come on Rickey, please look up the 2004 and 2005 model STI. They came with the inner cooler sprayer. I love mine
I wish i could win this car 🥺. Thank you for restoring it and keeping it oem.
Man I hope keep goin with the modern f&f cars like a modern Dom rx7 or Brian's skyline
The evo 9 has mivec (mitsu’s vvt) and a bigger turbo. because of the mivec they use different size spark plugs and some other minor changes
Have ya'll ever considered putting these cars on a dyno after you finish doing all the fluid changes and cleanup?
Got to love Quin so I hate to be such a nitpicky nerd but dielectric literally means non-conducting. So dielectric grease is just to help protect electrical contacts. Not directly help them conduct better.
sick another evo. Def gonna buy somthing for a chance
pretty sure the strut brace is stock, if I remember from my '06. OEM+ is the way, including all the better EVO IX stuff (turbo, etc). Maybe BBS SE wheels restored. JDM bumper.
Get seat lowering brackets best “mod” for an Evo as far as driving experience
Throtl & Tj hunts EVO'S let's go!!!...🤩🤩🤩
I'm from South Africa sending love to the crew 🙂Hello but here we say EXE or OLA
Can you please build a 1980s Nissan Datsun 720 pickup?? 🛻 💨💨 much love and respect for what y’all do!
Evos transfer case fluid is different to the gearbox one otherwise it’ll shit it’s self you need to put super thick fluid in the transfer
My favorite Dream Car 🙈👉🏽👈🏽
I will getting soon 💪🏽
something you definitely want to do on this car is coil on plugs.
Great video! Can’t wait to see the OEM plus add on bits !
Happy birthday luqi
I need this big bird in my life.
2005 Subaru sti had a factory intercooler sprayer
Dude this car is beautiful idk what I’d do if I got this thing. ❤
Would LOVE to see another Mitsubishi VR4 build!!!!!!! Please?!?!?!?!
The outtakes are great 😂
TJ Hunt vs Throtl Evo build-of :) Let's go
Sti does have the intercooler spray
You should build it with the name “Cream Puff” in mind. Maybe a livery to reflect it?
Team Throtl, can yall do a full rebuild on my 99 silverado and make it a beast of a truck, you know mo powa
OMG... My dream car...
I love the bloopers
You fallas are the best. Wish we have something like what you guys do here in Australia....God bless.
Sleeper build..??
The some sti’s of the era did have intercooler sprayers
Ricky!! Subarus did have intercooler sprays, but does a evo have a DCCD gearbox ??? Great video nice to see a bone stock evo.
Nice O'Reilly autoparts. Work there
23:19 Carburetor cleaner spray ftw!
Great start on this cool project!!!
so excited for this build
Will u do a budget build! That’d be sick
Quinn??? Normal spark plug sizes are either 5/8 or 13/16. 13/16 may not be super normal for Japanese cars but it is a standard spark plug size.
Actually Ricky 🤓 a select few STIs came stock with a intercooler sprayer
Sti indeed did have the intercooler spray
