Sitting here with tears streaming down my face…my sister passed away at 37 I was 30…this was her favorite song of all time…the line you emphasized in the song says it all…I love Jackson Browne…I’ve been going to his concerts with my family members including my mom since I was little…The Pretender is one of the best albums of all time…he is an incredible writer, singer, & musician…thanks for seeing the true artist that he is…Real music! Real life! React to The Fuse, Daddy’s Tune, The times you’ve come, For Everyman… ✌🏻☀️
David Lindley teamed up with Jackson after Jackson's first album in the early 1970s. David played slide guitar, lap steel and fiddle for Jackson throughout the 1970s including the Pretender album. That said, Lowell George is playing slide guitar on this track of the Pretender album. You cannot go wrong with any Jackson Browne song from the 1970s. Some of his later songs are also nice.
I havent heard this in decades. I reminds me of what I see missing in today's society - nobody even seems to comprehend the idea if introspection and its value. Give this song to someone in their 20's and I'm sure the reaction would be ???? what's this all about???
Love Jackson, a true poet. I've seen him 3 times and he never disappoints. So many great albums but this one is special to me. His lyrics just hit so close to home and really resonate! For example "I thought I was flying like a bird so far above my sorrow but when I looked down I was standing on my knees" Also "take my hand and lead me to the hole in your garden wall and pull me through". Please more JB! The late great David Lindley on guitar
The late, great Lowell George from the band Little Feat (you really need to react to Little Feat, anything from their "Waiting For Columbus" album will do just fine) on slide guitar and backup vocals. Thank you Biz, this song is my anthem. So glad you listened to it. Ah. It's funny that you mention,"Free Bird" while reacting to Jackson. During one of Jackson's summer tours many years ago, some guy kept showing up at the concerts and hollering out "Free Bird, Free Bird" over and over. Finally, after several concerts, Jackson acknowledged the guy and did Free Bird. What a great guy Jackson is!
thank you, one of my all time favorite songs, great lyrics, great music, brilliantly performed, just brilliant. He played it at the Lowell George Tribute Concert (clip 8 of 13 with members of Little Feat) which is a version well worth hearing as is the concert itself which is multi starred. r.i.p. Lowell
This is my song. ❤ The anniversary of my sweet love's passing was just a few days ago. Miss him every day. (I'm pretty sure it was Lowell George on the guitar. )
Big Soul Biz, thank you for playing the Jackson Browne music you've done lately. It's greatly appreciated, and your commentary touches so many people. You're a good man.
I felt called out by watching my "life from the sidelines ... I don't mean to be cruel, babe but you're looking confused." How busted. Head describing my passive approach to life to a T. Thanks for reacting to this gem! ❤
Hey, this is not an reaction to this song. Have you heard of INXS (into exticy). It's a band from Australia. Their album KICK was huge in 1987. New sensation, Never tear us apart and I need you tonight were great hits. New sensation was a positive bomb, Never tear us apart a ballad and Need you tonight was sexy as hell. The videos were pieces of art. They played also live. Wembley station 1991 was the top performance of the band. In 1992 The lead singer suffered a brain injury and that was the downhill for the group. In 1997 Michael Hutchence died in strange sercumstances. Another great loss. Nile Rodgers had worked with them on their single The original sin, when he was working with Bowie on the Let's dance album in Australia
The original sin put the band on the map, the rest came later. Nile Rodgers has a magic touch in lots of bands. A puch in the back. The man is a genius
God I love this song and Jackson Browne, one of the finest songwriters this world has ever known.

what do you mean?
The original sin put the band on the map, the rest came later. Nile Rodgers has a magic touch in lots of bands. A puch in the back. The man is a genius
The video is awful. The live version from 1991 in London is the best!
Thanks!
You bet!
