That is smart to put Fultz in that position. That way his shooting motion will evoluate through the defence and adapt. A lot of shooters had to rework their shooting motion during their career to become less athletic and more reliable from outside. Tony Parker struggled a long time to completely revamp his motion but after that, he became much more reliable and his shooting from a dribble became deadly. Simmons will work a lot on his selection and that will quickly improve. Fultz will maybe struggle a bit more but once those 2 guys will find their groove, the 76ers spacing will be awesome.

Brad Stevens would still find a way to work Markelle Fultz, the man can't shoot but everyone else on the team can. This leaves perfect spacing and the defending players surrounding can't really leave their man because it leaves a high percentage shot for any of the shooters on the team.

Even though in the playoffs last year the Sixers would fine more success with TJ because he can at least knock down an open shot. Fultz is coming of an injury in his shoulder which is why the trainer is helping him with his ROM ( range of motion ). The trainer is trying to help Fultz adapt his shooting form to the impingement causing his form to change and shooting percentage to suffer. Being a basketball player myself and knowing how the game works, if you are having a bad shooting streak and are injured having the ball in your hands isn’t always what you want. It is like in Space Jam when the NBA players got their skills taken from them. Everyone is looking at you like there is something wrong and you are thinking the same thing. The mental game of basketball is crucial to an efficient player especially when you are not in peak condition.

Same problem with guys like Rubio rondo or lonzo, when the defense is set up in half court is difficult for them to do it good. If you were playing for or your life like Simmons and you shoot like that there is not much you can do.
Yeah all three of those guys are starting to shoot better. Lonzo could always shoot, just struggled adjusting to the NBA, Rubio just needed to get away from Thibs who crushes the confidence of young players, and Rondo knows he's getting older and the game is changing, so he's been putting in work on his shot.

Another good video, but it was also an engagement issue for Philly. Simmons at times looked disengaged when they weren’t in the open court. And Fultz just looked disinterested period. The Celtics honestly feel like what the Warriors did when had KD the first year: Everything will have to go wrong to beat them. It’s a funny problem to have though for Philly: your best offensive weapon is your center but he’s not in shape and slowing down your offense for him literally neuters your team offensively. I've been telling the idiots at Liberty Ballers that Simmons is not the right guard for us. He can't stretch the floor for Embiid. He can't break down his man to get lane penetration, thereby allowing the defense to stay on our perimeter players. And now he suddenly can't run a break, almost always taking an extra superficial fancy dribble for no reason other than to be flashy, meanwhile the open man gets covered. We needed a player like Fultz (pre-injury) to run the point for us. Simmons is a monster, no doubt, but his negatives as the PG outweigh the positives. We are forced to be a perimeter team, running JJ around the 3-pt arc like a madman, but when teams don't respect our ability to drive through those open lanes, then we get what Boston does to us: smother us. That's why we got Chandler and Shamet -- both can drive on players who overplay them. However, Ben Simmons isn't helping our offense against the better defensive teams, who we'll need to overcome to win a championship.

(there is always a but :P) in middle 00's a team in Europe CSKA Moscow had something like that... Teo Papaloukas 6'7 PG and most of the other players couldnt score the ball from the 3 point line... except Trajan Langdon (Like J.J Redick in 76ers case)... Ettore Messina is definetly not my favourite coach but he did something clever knowing that his absolute star PG couldnt score but he can create for his teammates all day all night... he used to shrink the floor both offense and defence... the result was 2 Euroleague Champions and as many runner-up in 4 years... and 2 MVP's for Theo Papaloukas... So i am guessing its going to be kinda the same for 76ers for the next 3 seasons (including this one)
Philly overachieved last year. No one expected those guys to be a 50 win team last year. I don't think they'll be a top 4 team this year in the east. Embiid is still crazy though, and Simmons is a beast even though he doesn't have a jumper. Not sure about Fultz though

The problem is that they dont have any scoring threats, you said it yourself. Get more shooters around those two and you have a solid squad who can beat the Celtics.

Fultz is coming of an injury in his shoulder which is why the trainer is helping him with his ROM ( range of motion ). The trainer is trying to help Fultz adapt his shooting form to the impingement causing his form to change and shooting percentage to suffer. Being a basketball player myself and knowing how the game works, if you are having a bad shooting streak and are injured having the ball in your hands isn’t always what you want. It is like in Space Jam when the NBA players got their skills taken from them. Everyone is looking at you like there is something wrong and you are thinking the same thing. The mental game of basketball is crucial to an efficient player especially when you are not in peak condition.

Same problem with guys like Rubio rondo or lonzo, when the defense is set up in half court is difficult for them to do it good. However, it’s funny how people say “when he improve his shooting he will be great”. The truth is that is not that simple. If you were playing for or your life like Simmons and you shoot like that there is not much you can do.

Lonzo could always shoot, just struggled adjusting to the NBA, Rubio just needed to get away from Thibs who crushes the confidence of young players, and Rondo knows he's getting older and the game is changing, so he's been putting in work on his shot.

Another good video, but it was also an engagement issue for Philly. Simmons at times looked disengaged when they weren’t in the open court. And Fultz just looked disinterested period. The Celtics honestly feel like what the Warriors did when had KD the first year: Everything will have to go wrong to beat them.
It’s a funny problem to have though for Philly: your best offensive weapon is your center but he’s not in shape and slowing down your offense for him literally neuters your team offensively. Brett’s gonna have his work cut out for him.

in my opinion it's embiid who's hurting the philly or we could say both of them doesn't compliment each other. simmons play better when he is surrounded by bunch of shooters ex: ylasova, belinelli, jj etc.. but when embiid is on the floor, simmons become a non factor player since embiid holding the ball most of the time and we all know simmons can't shoot. just look at last year long winning streak when embiid was hurt, philly's offence was fantastic but it's all gone when embiid came back

I've been telling the idiots at Liberty Ballers that Simmons is not the right guard for us. He can't stretch the floor for Embiid. He can't break down his man to get lane penetration, thereby allowing the defense to stay on our perimeter players. And now he suddenly can't run a break, almost always taking an extra superficial fancy dribble for no reason other than to be flashy, meanwhile the open man gets covered. We needed a player like Fultz (pre-injury) to run the point for us. Simmons is a monster, no doubt, but his negatives as the PG outweigh the positives. We are forced to be a perimeter team, running JJ around the 3-pt arc like a madman, but when teams don't respect our ability to drive through those open lanes, then we get what Boston does to us: smother us. That's why we got Chandler and Shamet -- both can drive on players who overplay them. However, Ben Simmons isn't helping our offense against the better defensive teams, who we'll need to overcome to win a championship.

(there is always a but :P) in middle 00's a team in Europe CSKA Moscow had something like that... Teo Papaloukas 6'7 PG and most of the other players couldnt score the ball from the 3 point line... except Trajan Langdon (Like J.J Redick in 76ers case)... Ettore Messina is definetly not my favourite coach but he did something clever knowing that his absolute star PG couldnt score but he can create for his teammates all day all night... he used to shrink the floor both offense and defence... the result was 2 Euroleague Champions and as many runner-up in 4 years... and 2 MVP's for Theo Papaloukas... So i am guessing its going to be kinda the same for 76ers for the next 3 seasons (including this one)
Philly overachieved last year. No one expected those guys to be a 50 win team last year. I don't think they'll be a top 4 team this year in the east. Embiid is still crazy though, and Simmons is a beast even though he doesn't have a jumper. Not sure about Fultz though

The problem is that they dont have any scoring threats, you said it yourself. Simmons isn't the problem, it's more like Embiid and Simmons get most of the attention, that's why he doesn't have a good shot selection. Get more shooters around those two and you have a solid squad who can beat the Celtics.
