I really like that you showed actual photos of the Italian and Austro-Hungarian soldiers who fought in these mountains and timed them to appear on the "I'll be immortal" line. It was a Wednesday. No idea why anglophones call it white Friday, here in Italy we call it Santa Lucia Nera (black st Lucy) (On the 13th of December we celebrate st Lucy)
White Friday occurred on the Italian front of World War I when an avalanche hit the Austro-Hungarian barracks on Mount Marmolada, killing 270 soldiers. Other avalanches hit Italian and other Austro-Hungarian positions on the same day, killing hundreds of people. According to some reports, both sides deliberately fired shells into the weakened snow cover, trying to bury the other side. There is no exact estimate of the number of avalanche victims on White Friday. Historical documents show at least 2,000 casualties among soldiers and several dozen among the civilian population. Marmolada Mountain On December 13, Saint Lucia Day is celebrated, a memorable religious holiday practiced by most Italian Catholics. Although an avalanche in the Dolomites occurred on Wednesday in 1916, the term "White Friday" was used to denote a catastrophic day.
And this gives you a very good idea of the terrain they were fighting on along the Italian Front in WW1, especially along the Isonzo River valley. To give you an idea of how fierce the Isonzo fighting was, there were 11 battles fought (the 12th Battle of the Isonzo is also known as the Battle of Caporetto. It is treated as a separate battle because, by the time the fighting had stopped, the Austro-Hungarians and Germans had pushed the Italians all the way back to the Piave River, near Venice, and came frightening close to knocking Italy out of the war.) The Italians lost 300,000 killed in all 11 battles, while the Austro-Hungarians lost around 200,000 killed. Add to this the additional 305,000 kia, wounded and prisoners the Italians lost during Caporetto, and... you get the picture.

Idk why but this video isn't just bad ass but it's also very beautiful, I do have a request, my dad was in the Bosnian War as a US peacekeeper but all he did was guard mass graves and patrol the country side, but the things he saw haunt him to this day. Sabaton have made a song about this war that not many people have heard it's called We Burn, if you could make a video on it so I can show my dad that would be amazing
Politicians Also the war was inevitable, if there was no assassination attempt on that day, it will start later or even earlier by similar or entirely different reasons
And then we have switzerland alps the only defence that works better than the magnot line which confuse me why not attack it first I mean all other country wouldn’t care if some country took switzerland.
Well mountains are no easy feat to cross over, Only Infantry can. The only way through would be the roads. Armies of the past and today know its not easy to Invade Switzerland. The Swiss army has a doctrine that essentially made the roads kill boxes with explosives, well placed bunkers and have up to date AA (Anti-Air) capabilities so aircraft will have a hard time. The Swiss have the advantage when it comes to a defensive war, It would cost unnecessary casualties and resources to capture a country that barely has strategic significance
