Nice concept, bug there is one thing i dont get. when you disengage the brake on the outside gear, the wheel and its fixed central gear become the élément with the more résistance, and nothing prevent the outside gear to run backward, leading to loss of speed, up to complete stop, unless you are one a steep climb and the bike Will go backward ! i'm very curious to know, thank for answer. is this a school work or personnal hobby ?
Victor Vernay hello, I think this animation shows the sun gear (center gear) moving when the brake is disengaged, however it should not be moving. There's a freewheel mechanism that will make the ring gear to act over the wheel instead of the sun gear. Really nice design by the way.
