He didn't quit. More took a break to study than anything. Great that hes back. The game needs people like him and akala. Two of the best and never rap about nonsense.
lowkey didnt just quit randomly, he recieved alot of threats due to obviously his views what he spoke about in interviews and what he sang about (cause he exposed) and americans didnt like it so he laid low and took time from music.. there was one track he even said it in before he stopped with msic but some reason no longer on youtube, other than that im so glad that he is back and with another deep track
He's back :') great reaction, I cried at this music video because it was depressing, I remember seeing that little boy by the shore lifeless on the news, and that night I couldn't stop the tears
The way you talk after the track make ur videos different and you actually listen to the whole song others jus talk through it all and miss good bars keep it up defo subscribing ‼️‼️
I think he is not aware of what the issues because it was the first time he had seen a boat capsize. In all fairness this is how you educate yourself. Maybe he will do some more research on it.
No offense but the glasses guy was off the mark completely, he couldn't make a point so he just said "blah blah blah" that's very disrespectful almost as if he wasn't listening to the what Lowkey was saying or reading the lyrics on the screen. Harvey mate you're cool, articulate and intelligent, lets try to keep the content like that especially when it comes to music as real as this, anyway bro keep up the good work, was waiting on this for a while, also someone else you should check out is Immortal Technique, he is American but he is a conscious artist like Lowkey and Akala, check out his song Immortal Technique - dance with the devil - animated short film.
Because he's hanging out with his mates he probably doesn't want to put a sad mood in the room as all you see is them watching the video but they obviously they will stay in that room and don't want to be sitting around in a bad mood so is putting it more lightly
Nah I think you're being unfair there mate with all due respect. There are two key areas they discuss here, content and delivery. They had covered in depth and given respect to his content and the guy in the video also wanted to highlight that Lowkey is very technically skilled with his delivery. Him saying "blah blah" isn't disrespect, its simply a tool to describe what he enjoyed about his rhythm. Just the same as when you describe a song to somebody you might say "The one that goes, dum, diddy dum dum de" or whatever. On top of that he was actually saying Lowkey does a great job of spitting fast but actually pronouncing each word so that his messages can be conveyed clearly and accurately. For example using the correct pronunciation of Ahmed. He was basically complimenting Lowkey's rapping technique, which has to be fair enough right? After all that's surely what separates a conscious MC from your average political activist. I rate Immortal though, take care.
To be honest I love Lowkey and all his works. However, this track Ahmed makes me weep. So powerful and desperately needed at this time. Hopefully, it might even change some peoples perceptions of the refugees. They aren't coming for our benefits, they're fleeing our bombs. Peace.
So you guys are from the UK so you must remember this story of that little boy with the red t-shirt on and they did refer to him as Ahmed in the media it was the front page of all the newspapers in the UK and Europe, you see him ( Ahmed) in the video he is the little boy with the red top on and he was found with just that top on and a teddy next to him and that's the name they gave him I don't know if that was his real name but it is what the media called him
Lowkey just shouted you out on his Facebook, for the reaction video. Also if you want similar music from Lowkey, check out, Terrorist , Relatives, Obamanation, and Million man march, a few of my personal favourite songs from him.
Also check out just shine, who really cares, dedication, one world, where did we go wrong ft logic and story to tell part 1, 2 and 3 plus check out logic sick artist as well always bring firreeeeee🔥
the song was about a boy who washed up on shores of greece from syria and then further explains how this came to be, basically outlining the war on the middle east and the current geo political situation between east and west, educate yourselves the dude on the left seemed most in tune with the track but you need to expand your consiousness before you can understand the truth depth of the song , the asian dude didnt have a clue and was way off the mark
nah, he sailed from Turkey. when they fled Syria and made it to Turkey they were in safety. the boys father made his family board a rickety boat to reach europe because he was an economic migrant.
Yip I totally agree with you there mate I am a huge Lowkey fan I got introduced to his music through activism work I had done before I met my boyfriend and he hadn't heard of him but he did like listening to the fire in the booth and charlie sloth radio show and when he heard Lowkey he said the same thing, that it was one of the best he had heard on there, You should listen to Jun Tzu, ( my boyfriend introduced me to him and to fire in the booth) fire in the both and also the song Here lies a soldier on Charlie Sloth
He didn't "come out of the game randomly" sources close to him at the time posted on Facebook that his home was raided by the police, they took all his books, Arabic scriptures and his laptop. Apparently the government had something to do with him "quitting"due to the fact that his music is so politically driven.
Just to let you know, Ahmed, the child in the video, those were real photos, was found on the beach, dead. His teddy was found nearby. He was a refugee. It disgusts me to see how the world is allowing innocent people to die.
His name was Alan Kurdi. I think lowkey just used Ahmed as a semi fictional character so as not to be quite so raw and to make the point that it happens all the time
I love Lowkey! He shows what the news doesn't and he calls out corruption! I've never seen one of your videos before but came across it while watching a Lowkey video. I've now subscribed. You seem like legit guys. Check out Immortal Technique too if you haven't already. He and Lowkey actually did a song together called 'voices of the voiceless'.
Action fueled by human empathy is how these problems can be reduced. Lets at least start by fueling up, right? These kinds of videos are depressing and do take an emotional toll, but that is because of how much they move us. We NEED to promote the videos, songs, and movies that tell us these stories and give us these messages of empathy. Thank yall for doing this reaction and promoting this song in your own way!
Great vid and in case you or some people are unaware, "Ahmed" is actually a real person a child who drowned on the shore of Greece it's not a made up character it's revolved around him.
Lowkey quit because the government kept on harassing him and he got raided without a warrant and he had to have some time off and now he is back spitting the truth #LowkeysBack
i don't think ahmed wad just any name. i do believe he was talking about a kid who was trying to escape his country and he ended up drowning and he was found at a seashore. i remember the article was circulating around FB a while ago. he was referring to ahmed as a general name but i do believe it was an actual story of a kid who died.
Ahmed was a little baby which was found on the shore of turkey dead he was lost at sea whilst trying to escape from his home country , that's where the name of the song comes from aswell as the song being about Ahmed just thought I'll let you know keep it up good video
well the mi5 n that raided his home n they tried to send him down for the content of his songs. Says bout it on Soundtrack to the Struggle album. Seems from that he fought it off in court.

Saawan Krushnan It's both. Don't think you can separate them. It's the politics (US, UK, French, Russian) imperialism that causes the refugee crisis in which Ahmed and other refugees died

Well said my brother, well said.
way to make a big deal out of nothing
Ahmed drowned and all was blinded by celebrities that we couldn't see him. This tune is a true story Ahmed is real
To be honest I love Lowkey and all his works. However, this track Ahmed makes me weep. So powerful and desperately needed at this time. Hopefully, it might even change some peoples perceptions of the refugees.
They aren't coming for our benefits, they're fleeing our bombs.
Peace.
Terrible isn’t it? Then you watch the news about how they are all coming over here to take our jobs.
it's Ahmed not Achmed

Don’t answer this post with facts. They aren’t interested. The guy on the left spent half of it smiling.

Lowkey - Relatives !! Mad track !!
I love that you mentioned that plan b lyric that lyric has always stood out to me as well! ! respect
super political bla bla bla. You mean he started rapping about important stuff?
You shouldn’t have needed to say it. The Teletubbies didn’t pick up how real and important what low key was saying. What a joke.
Best classics Lowkey - Why & Lowkey - Happy Ending

Great vid and in case you or some people are unaware, "Ahmed" is actually a real person a child who drowned on the shore of Greece it's not a made up character it's revolved around him.
It's So sad that many people(even british)today don't know what 'balfour alien act' was.
Achmed is an actual person, a young child, who drowned. This song is about that child.
Lowkey quit because the government kept on harassing him and he got raided without a warrant and he had to have some time off and now he is back spitting the truth #LowkeysBack

Lowkey the king of rap
I dont think this is a political song.. It is a Humanitarian song. He is making a humanitarian point, privilege.
Saawan Krushnan It's both. Don't think you can separate them. It's the politics (US, UK, French, Russian) imperialism that causes the refugee crisis in which Ahmed and other refugees died
