Hmm not sure I agree. I think we spend too much time talking about a player's behaviour.
At the end of the day Ricky Ponting was the most non modest captain - his team delivered though. I don't think RR have anything to be very proud of - this was a game that they should have won by 8 wickets in 15-16 overs. They very nearly botched it.
Point being - I don't think it has anything to do with modesty or style of play - it's about being playing better as a team - that's it. The style is a cherry on the cake

To be fair, Star Sports has brought a higher level of professionalism to the IPL compared to Sony. While Star Sports' IPL theme songs might not be great, their in-game analysis is much better than what Sony offered. IPL seems like a much serious sport on Star & now with Jio coming too things have only gone better, Ipl on Sony was too much entertainment oriented Bollywood-type. Dugout commentary (though it's gone, should come back) & Insiders (analysis focused commentary)are some of the best things that happened after that period. I'm sorry to say this but I hope the IPL never becomes anything like it was from 2008-2017.

I can't understand why so much hatred for Kohli for a league game. He played extraordinarily good and still end up loosing because of bad team selection devoid of good bowlers. He is the most consistent batsman in the current crop with the likes of Rohit, Rahul or Gill. It's mindset to choke at crucial stage like RCB or Indian international team.
Tbh it's not hatred for Kohli. Kohli is the gem for Indian cricket. Without him we wouldn't have had such success. It's the toxic fans of kohli who entice everyone. I too am a Kohli fan but these other toxic fans make him look very very bad. He is a legend of the game but RCB toxic fans don't understand cricket they just understand Kohli.

That powerplay flamboyancy SRH followed this year most likely can only pay off during league stages. In the knockouts, you need patience and nerves and some extraordinary skills to be able to completely dominate both the innings. SRH have the weakest bowling as compared to RR and KKR.
