Brazil: INES and The Deaf Heart of Rio

Joel attends the four-day-long event at INES in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and learns about the Deaf people who are at the heart of the Deaf community and culture in Brazil. Fact check: Today, INES isn't just one Deaf school in across Brasil, we have many Deaf schools, but historically INES was only and first Deaf school during periods of Empire and Old Republic (First Republic or República Velha, 1857-1930), and now we are in period of Sixth Republic (1988-present)
Other fact check: About the Feijoada, Brasilian food, as you mentioned "Tapioca" erroneously, it's called "Farofa" (dry), a little different of tapioca (hydrated), but they are kind of same source plant called "Mandioca", known internationally as Cassava.

So wie ich das so sehe, kannst Du ,Joel, gar nicht sagen, was Deine schönste Reise war, stimmt's ? Unsere schönste Reise war eine Kreuzfahrt auf dem Mittelmeer. Es war damals sehr beeindruckend, in den Häfen zu sehen, dass 7 Busse mit gehörlosen Teilnehmern voll waren und dementsprechend 7 GebärdensprachdolmetscherInnen dabei waren. Es waren allerdings nur (ungefähr 130)TeilnehmerInnen aus dem deutschsprachigen Raum Österreich, Schweiz, Deutschland.
