There's one very, very important thing about capturing prisoners : If you knock out a bunch of targets and change maps, you'll lose them, be it NPCs or Animals. And that includes changing Z-Levels on the same map too. I believe you'll also lose the priosoner if you take too long and the Unconscious debuff wears off, and maybe that's what's happening, when you change maps all debuffs are cleared out. I don't know if it's a bug of the current version or working as intended, but I already lost a bunch of cool prisoners like that before I figured out what was happening. So what I usually do it, once I finish exploring and capturing around a ?, I just exit control mode to get eveyone back to base and ensure all my invonluntary collaborators are brought with me. Then I go back and continue exploring. Never lost a full squad of Dryads ever again.
Really nice Video, great work! One thing that found super useful as well is the "unclaim tile" order. When you dig down really deep or high then your dungeon will expand. You recognize these yellow dots on the floors. Your minions will walk around in these areas randomly when they got nothing else to do. This can be very bad when you get attacked and your "MVPs" are hanging out down in level 18 or somewhere. To avoid this use the "unclaim tile" funtion in the Orders tab. And dont worry about broken traps or doors and stuff on unclaimed tiles, these get repaired as far as ive seen. Your minions will go to these unclaimed areas if they need to. For example: you can have a guarding zone on unclaimed ground. Also when it comes to make prisoners that you really want, like that insanely strong Dwarf Baron, look how many turns of unconsciousness are left before he wakes up. He may also be poisoned for example. I lost very strong potential teammates by not paying attention to this. Have a nice day guys.
Yep. I'm with Kunze-- nice video! KeeperRL has become my new vidja game obsession and its nice to hear from someone that has taken it on, beaten it, and can provide some advice from the other side. Several of your tips were new to me and will be very helpful-- dog-legs, controlling your keeper (I was controlling the meat shield and let the glass cannons pop off), nuances of full control... all very helpful. Cheers
I used to be addicted to swimming. Thankfully, I've been dry for about six months
