    Hey, Ben! Once again your tutorial has been very entertaining to watch! You are by far my favorite youtuber and motion designer.
    As for your question about deep dive tutorials, personally I liked it very much and would like to see both the quick fast ones and these deep dive ones. Diversity would be good for your channel and having the shorter ones means you won't have so much work every week.
    Keep up the awesome work!

    • @BenMarriott
      @BenMarriott  5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Thank you so much! That means a lot to read. :)
      I think you're right, great to know these deep dives are useful. I'm definitely going to try and keep as much diversity as possible and trying to throw a curve ball once in a while too. Thanks so much for sticking around :D

      @@BenMarriott Dude if you did step by step tutorials no matter how many hours long you could sell it as a series...I would buy that all day. I'm still too beginner to replicate what you do without exact instruction every step of the way. Basically, you alone would be the best motion design college ever!

    I just want to be this good at After Effects before I die...that's my life goal.

      You will be even better than me, Jesse. When I just started doing animation, there's not much resource at all, you've just got to keep practicing and believe in yourself! Good luck!

    I think that dark edge that you mention at the end is kind of a good thing, defines the edge a bit more like in a real print (screen print ink is above the paper slightly so might have a shadow, the edge of water based paints pool a bit at the edges, etc)

    Awesome video!
    I think you could probably get away with using a simple choker effect to reduce the presence of that black outline. I would also say that parenting the pizza and pineapple to a Null for the bobbing motion would save you some time.

    When you're using the linework as a luma matt (Around 18.44), you could (invert) to make the line work white, and the background black. And then use the effect (unmult). This would stop the edge of the line work being weird, and you'll get a hard edge. Hope this makes sense!

    I knoe its been 2 years, but maybe boiling that solid black on the pineapple's shaded side might reduce that 3d cel shaded feel. That or adding some small wiggle to the pineapple outline. It looks amazing and a great tute that ill refer to for any frame by frame animation im doing

    Hey Ben... Found your videos recently. They are really helpful and fun, thanks. Is there any reason you chose to colour everything in After Effects with shape layers instead of in Photoshop itself? Maybe I missed it in the video, but I didn’t understand if there were any benefits to doing that.

    • @BenMarriott
      @BenMarriott  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks so much! There's not a huge benefit for doing it in AE, I like to have vector shapes if I can so I can animate their path properties If i need too. The main pineapple was the only shape that really changes in this animation so It could just have easily been done in photoshop. :)
