OMD were (still are) hugely important in my life. I got to see them play Coachella 2013, and was weeping (literally) in those same 'happy' tears you cry when watching a soldier be reunited with their family. To think in 1983 at 14 I would dance alone in my room to 'Messages', and here I was in 2013 dancing to them live again. They are not a band with a shelf life, they need to go on forever.

For people like me who are now in their 40's and vaguely remember listening to their music on the radio this is very moving. Makes me feel guilty for not paying to view it. Thanks for uploading ... transported me back through time.

Loved this so much, i always said best 2 electronic bands from the 80's were DM & OMD. I feel old but lucky at the same time.

      Runners up?
Yazoo, Erasure, Soft Cell, Human League, New Order, Tears for Fears, et al.
I'd rate Vince Clarke top of the list for catchy tunes but he has always lacked a Dark Side (Of The Moon) so to speak, and a chart topper that he wrote and performed.
Curiously, I like Pink Floyd, Yazoo and OMD. Am I Right, am I wrong or am I just Dreaming?

Great documentary. Thanks for uploading. Like one of the fans interviewed near the end, OMD were the first live band I ever saw, aged 14, Architecture & Morality Tour, 1981, Manchester Apollo. The only fan club I have ever joined and I too still have the programme from that show :)

Thanks for uploading this, I just bought my copy of it. Can't wait for it to arrive! What Andy says at the end just brought tears to my eyes, I'm one of those fans he was talking about with OMD's music touching and really being a part of someone's life. Thanks OMD!

Andy and Paul, the British Ralph and Florian.......they claimed to be heavily influenced by Kraftwerk but for me they have a sound all of their own. Great stuff!

Actually Andy, 0:32 that bass sound is *very* pronounced in the song. He is so modest! It was that very low-end that layered even more emotion to the song. Souvenir is one of those songs that does so well because of the multi-dimensional layers. So much for our ears to take in. This is why the song still sounds great 37 years later!

9:28 I still preferer the single version, cheesy organ from the Casio CZ230S, drums from the Alesis HR16. Orchestras trying to do pop just doesn't do it for me.
