What a gorgeous country. 13:28 was breathtaking for me and I found myself pausing the video there and just admiring it for a few minutes and imagining being there. Can't wait to see the rest of the journey!
During the Surfshark spiel you were sitting at that light talking to the camera. The look on the ladies face next to you was priceless! You could just see she was thing "WTF is he doing?" She was just over your shoulder to the right my left. It was so awesome!
Just want to say, best commercial I’ve EVER seen!! One handed on the bike…LOVE IT!! And the info regarding how they charge different prices depending on your location was top shelf, thank you again!!
You never fail to surprise us Nick, this is epic! You showcase Vietnam so well they should be paying you - we love the way you tell it like it is. Vietnam & it's people are amazing. 👏🤙👍
Good emphasis on safety. By far the most dangerous situations I've been in while traveling are on the roads. When we travel we tend to get this fuzzy glow that all is wonderful (which often it is) and safe (which may not be the case.) I think more travelers are injured and worse from road accidents than anything else. Hats off to you Nick, you've done your due diligence, learned the language, passed the driving test.
"...most dangerous are the roads..." Yeah, no kidding. I often tell people that the most dangerous thing about walking the streets of Tijuana, BC, Mexico are the sidewalks. Just strolling along you have to pay strict attention to every footfall. It's almost as if you were on a sketchy trail up in the High Sierras.
Nick , the title on this episode " VIETNAM TRAVEL : 1000 Miles Through Vietnam On A Motorbike " already sounded epic. And, despite the heat , humidity, dust , dangerous potholes , and being on guard of other drivers and livestock , you've endured and delivered !! Great footage of the country-side and local villages. So interesting about the nearly empty towns where you passed through ; and even more interesting where you mentioned about that remote Russian village. It's much appreciated that you're documenting the trip "live" and limiting the voice overs. Stay safe and healthy in this eye-opening adventure.
Mũi Né is the Russian tourist capital of Vietnam, and Nah Trang further up the coast is a close second. A lot of the street names are in Russian and so are the menus in restaurants etc. Further north DaNang is the Korean tourist capital of Vietnam, a lot of both permanent and tourist South Koreans.
Being an avid motorcycle rider for over 50 years this was a cool vid to watch. Would rather see you and Terysa on the big water having adventures but this will do for now. Stay safe.
Lived in DaNang for a year, 1971-1972. Stunningly beautiful countryside and mountains that come down into the South China Sea. A truly beautiful country.
What a great trip, Absolutely gorgeous. I am surprised that there wasn’t more flora. My sis-in-law (Filipino) makes that breakfast all the time it looks so yummy. Glad it didn’t rain on ya. Thanks for sharing.
I find this video very interesting and entertaining, but it casue some reflection back in time to me. Yes It is a beautiful country that is what I thought back in 1969 when I spent my time in country working on Huey Helicopters. My impression is the road you are traveling is Highway One? Interesting how time will provide us a view of changes. I would imagine the almost complete but unused buildings and developments are the opposite of the Field of Dreams Phrase "Build it and they will come"? Movie reference Silent Runninng (1972) with Bruce Dern and the three robots he nicknamed Huey, Dewey and Louie. Looking forward to your next video of this trip.
Hi Nick, nice to see you proving yourself to be much more than merely being surgeon turned Ruby Rose's skipper. Editing is superb in this velog. Drone shots seems as if you flown on your bike🙃. Looking forward to seeing you on board again in one piece😎
Hey Nick, we (my Viet wife and I) did Saigon to Mũi Né, then Mũi Né to Da Lát a few years ago, but not on a bike but by bus, the pot holes on the way up to Da Lát were massive and a very uncomfortable ride in the back of a 20 seater bus. Spent another week in DaLat just before this last Christmas and toured around the rural farming areas outside of the city, a very interesting place and like you say a coffee (Ca Phe) drinkers paradise, especially Ca Phe Sua. We bought lots of coffee back to New Zealand with us.
Looks great. I did a similar trip myself maybe along the same route a few years ago, thanks for the memories especially the ferry. It's great riding Vietnam by motorbike, I would recommend other who have been motorcycling in Asia to give it a go.
Looked like a great ride and the scenery was fantastic. Thanks for bringing us along. Can't believe you ragged out Australian roads. They support an entire industry of wheel repairers and suspension upgrades.
OUTSTANDING!!!!!! i WISH I was Riding with you... Its Still FREEZING here in Oregon But I am Getting My Harley Ready to Ride HAVE A BLAST Nick and BE Careful
Great stuff. I used to do Motovlogs myself a long time ago and am super jelly of the beautiful scenery. Looks like you had the time of your life. What are you using for sound recording and camera? Insta 360 with a mic attached? Oh and I about fell off my chair…. Crimea LMFAO
That looked like an awesome road trip especially once you were out in the countryside. I never would have guessed those motorcycles are only 155cc or at least the one you're on.
Just to note - there are not that much of dead russians in Crimea, but we are working hard to improve on that ;). Most of them are in Donbass at the moment
A very nice ride. A lot of things to see and do. All those buildings have been collateral damaged of Covid. Same here in Thailand. It is coming back though.
It’s pretty padded. But the engine is small and the bike shakes like a sh!toting greyhound. So after an hour my ass feels like I’ve woken up after a night in a dodgy club, with no memory of the night before and my underwear is on backwards
If you need to do a visa run Laos is also a brilliant ride North from the China border down to Cambodia. I always planned to do the HCM trail but couldn't get my bike in to Vietnam. Enjoy.
Happy Trails! What a beautiful landscape Vietnam has as you motor through the farms and villages. I would imagine that as you become more rural, English becomes almost non-existent. True or has this changed. It is still the case in Thailand.
I guess the foreign tourism industry hasn't really recovered post pandemic... I know Vietnam was going through a tourism development program, trying to become the next Thailand a few years ago, but obviously the last few years has resulted in empty resorts. As a kite surfer living in Asia a few years ago, we all knew Mui Ne as the place to go to get good winds from Oct - Mar. Were all the Russians kitesurfing?
That was pretty Epic. I miss riding, but mine was a Kawasaki 900LT, made for long touring rides. What kind of mileage do you get? Top speed? After watching far too many dashcam videos, the idea of riding in Asian countries terrifies me! LOL
Same thing happening further north in DaNang, tens of thousands of hotel etc rooms abandoned at all stages of construction. Sky scraper buildings abandoned along the coast between DaNang and Hoi An. There are two 60 storey appartment buildings with no windows installed abandoned in the most prime position on DaNang beach. Apparently they were abandoned in 2018 before Covid, and this also applies to many other construction sites. Covid really made sure of it and finished the rest off. Being Coastal the reinforcing steel is a corroded mess, most of these buildings will need to be demolished. Mind boggling.
So disappointed in your summary of Muine. I lived there for yrs have not visited in 14yrs however used to be thriving kitesurfing spot with lots of international expats all kiting everyday and lots do surfing at 5am across the bay. Party's that where legendary. How things must have changed. Did you go on the beach or even visit Jibes Surf Resturant centre, Full Moon Beach resort or only stay do the strip and goto snow for food ?
I saw you on the Wynns and really liked you and went back to the beginning, read all your blogs and watched all your videos. Binge watching! I absolutely love all your videos, you 2 are adorable and so much fun to watch. I have even loved most of your non-sailing videos and road trips. You 2 are really awesome and I can’t wait for your next sailing adventures! However I am going to be honest, I have bypassed most of your RR2 updates, way too technical for me and not interesting. Also I absolutely hate the song you used for your intro. Always cringing when I hear it. I so wish you guys had kept Alan walker music, which was way more appropriate! Having said all that, I love love your videos, keep them coming! Ps: I absolutely love this video. Thank you showing me a place I will never see. My favorite videos will always be what you filmed in the French canals, being French and so far away from home, I have adored all your videos. Thank you!
Are you serious. My goodness doing an ad for surfshark, sometimes with only one hand on the handle, and lane-splitting to boot. Have to admit riding when I was young was the most exhilarating experience.
What a gorgeous country.
13:28 was breathtaking for me and I found myself pausing the video there and just admiring it for a few minutes and imagining being there.
Can't wait to see the rest of the journey!
Silent Running with Bruce Dern on the Valley Forge with Huey, Loie, and Dewey.
During the Surfshark spiel you were sitting at that light talking to the camera. The look on the ladies face next to you was priceless! You could just see she was thing "WTF is he doing?" She was just over your shoulder to the right my left. It was so awesome!
Haha. Yeah I get some funny looks
As an avid motorcycle adventure rider I enjoyed this.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Just want to say, best commercial I’ve EVER seen!! One handed on the bike…LOVE IT!! And the info regarding how they charge different prices depending on your location was top shelf, thank you again!!
Beautiful! Thanks so much for taking us along for the ride 🏍
Glad you enjoyed it

Aside from a helmet where's the protective gear for someone talking so much about safety.
God bless him. Great road trip!

Beautiful country, beautiful people. Period
Nice landscape pan, Nick. You're right, what a view. Thanks for taking us on your journey.
Stunning, Nick, Wow! I can’t wait for the rest of your footage! The ferry ticketing process…amazingly funny.
Movie reference: Bruce Dern . . . Silent Running?
I woulld say yes the Robots were Huey, Dewey and Louie
(Nephews of Donald Duck and Grand Nephews of Scrooge McDuck)
What a fun trip! There’s no feeling like exploring somewhere new and how much better to be so immersed at motorcycle level. Very cool.
Nick, I love the way you maneuver the drone seemingly like being in a helicopter. I also love the smell of napalm in the morning…lol
Best video you've done in a while with the build going. Looking forward to more like this one.
My favourite channel and on a motorbike too! Doesn’t get any better than this!
This is really a great video and I'm looking forward to the next one!
What a great trip, Absolutely gorgeous. I am surprised that there wasn’t more flora.
My sis-in-law (Filipino) makes that breakfast all the time it looks so yummy. Glad it didn’t rain on ya. Thanks for sharing.
Fantastic video. Looking forward to the next one
More to come!
your spirit of adventure is remarkably big. good video!
To see you so happy!! Well that says it all. Truly the Cheshire cat smiles!!! Thank you!!

GOOD Morning VIETNAM ~
What an amazing journey. Trip of a lifetime.
How beautiful!! Thank you !!
Thank you too!
Absolutely amazing country. Being an ex biker, this really sang to me! Bit of escapism from the boat work and nerves about splash day!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Brilliant drone work and editing.
Thanks for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it
Thanks for the travel tour. Nice to see outside the sprawling cities. It does look beautiful.
Glad you enjoyed it
This one is a good video Nick ✌️😉👍
Love it - thank you for sharing the beauty of Vietnam - your eyes become our eyes
Our pleasure!
This country has long been on my must see list. I look forward to your commentary and videos. Good luck mate and stay safe
That science fiction film you were thinking about - Silent Running with a Bruce Dern?
Loved that Nick, look forward to the next episode 👍 spectacular scenery there
Cool stuff, Nick. Glad you are on the bike and not me, though. Cheers.
No worries!
Hi Nick, nice to see you proving yourself to be much more than merely being surgeon turned Ruby Rose's skipper. Editing is superb in this velog. Drone shots seems as if you flown on your bike🙃. Looking forward to seeing you on board again in one piece😎
Hey, thanks!
Like the vids of On her Bike and the Netherlands Lady Noraly... 😁😉
Wow, audio was incredibly good while you were on the bike. Really fun video overall and scenery shots were stunning!!!
Looks like someone got an DJI Avata for Christmas. Love the videos, cannot wait until you get RR2
Stunning scenery! Great video thanks for taking us along. Looking forward to next week
Glad you enjoyed it
Much prefer these very interesting videos than watching the build of a boat that isn't RR2.
Very cool video. Thanks mate.

Ever since Top Gear did their Vietnam special I've wanted to do this trip.
It’s great to see some travel content.
Thanks for the ride and perspective Nick.
No worries!
I'll bet you a pint , this is the most watched video to date.
did not look like that in my days, glad you brought the beauty of that place, thanks Nick, be safe
Glad you enjoyed it
Silent Running.... excellent movie!
Looked like a great ride and the scenery was fantastic. Thanks for bringing us along. Can't believe you ragged out Australian roads. They support an entire industry of wheel repairers and suspension upgrades.
Wow i love this see you next week
Sounds good
I am impressed with the countryside. It is a beautiful country.
As to the movie, I believe you were referring to 'Silent Running' with Bruce Dern.
OUTSTANDING!!!!!! i WISH I was Riding with you... Its Still FREEZING here in Oregon But I am Getting My Harley Ready to Ride HAVE A BLAST Nick and BE Careful
Stay safe my friend
Fantastic Idea! Thanks for going full Top Gear on this (without the fracas :)
Tony & Susan here, Those roads look like Michigan roads.
Nick another great review, try the mekong cruise with terysa, less painful !!!
Looks fantastic 👍
Excellent video, really enjoyed it. So different than kingingit, which was a great enjoyable video, your has given a new dimension to Vietnam.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Fantastic!
beautiful! Drive carefully.
Thank you, I will
great video. really enjoyed it.
Glad you enjoyed it

11:15 You'll be receiving my shirt dry-cleaning bill! :D :D :D honestly, haven't laughed this hard at any video for over a years!
Glad you enjoyed it!
the convoluted ticketing process is also to deter pocketing the cash and to generally reduce corruption.
@11:10: looool oh no he didn't!
A very nice ride. A lot of things to see and do. All those buildings have been collateral damaged of Covid. Same here in Thailand. It is coming back though.
Sorry to hear that
The ‘construction rot’ set in before Covid, ie 2018
Love the bike adventures 👍😎🦅🇺🇸
Thanks 👍
The quip on Crimea was brilliant. Sarcasm? Perhaps. But hard to tell because you’re British.
Interesting how everything is empty thanks for bringing us on your journey
Thanks for watching!
Hey Nick. As you are at the source, are there any whispers of a 1370 inspired 1500 or 1600 soon!!
amazing
To avoid a pothole, don’t fixate on it and you will get past it without event.
WOW
"...all the ass-ache...". 😆I was wondering. How padded is that bike seat?
It’s pretty padded. But the engine is small and the bike shakes like a sh!toting greyhound. So after an hour my ass feels like I’ve woken up after a night in a dodgy club, with no memory of the night before and my underwear is on backwards

Loved the Crimea comment! This trip reminds me of my road trips around Spain on my motorcycle back around 1980.
Nice road trip...
The countryside and yes, the food. I am an asian food junkie.
what kind of bike to you have?
Yamaha xsr
Happy Trails! What a beautiful landscape Vietnam has as you motor through the farms and villages. I would imagine that as you become more rural, English becomes almost non-existent. True or has this changed. It is still the case in Thailand.
The second person’s job is to keep the first person honest.

Dead Russians, visit Crimea. 🤣 Sick sense of humor. No Russians were harmed in the filming of this video.👍
r u planning on going all the way north and then coming back on a different route? lovely looking country. thanks.
Eventually
@@sailingrubyrose cool :-)
finally a normal video, after more than 2 years of boring advertising videos. thank you

I wonder if COVID had anything to do with all of those uncompleted/abandoned properties.
Same thing happening further north in DaNang, tens of thousands of hotel etc rooms abandoned at all stages of construction. Sky scraper buildings abandoned along the coast between DaNang and Hoi An. Silent Running…
Nick, I’m sorry to tell you that your mrs and by mate from the pub were more than just …
