I’m so happy to hear that Nessa is doing well and I’m sure her pack is happy to have her back. From one shopper to another, I love seeing your finds and look forward to how you incorporate them into the château! It will be like Christmas when that container finally arrives!
Thank you so very much Helen. You are so kind and with us from the start. We love rescues (and I had quite a few over the last 30 years) 😳 and also support responsible breeding of endangered dog breeds. And we will try to get 2 donkeys and maybe some sheep as rescues. Fingers crossed. Much love from us. ❤
@@patrickjourneytothechateau9452 Hello Patrick. The 4 dogs we have in our family are all rescues. We have one, my daughter two & my son has one. And our previous dog was also a rescue. They are the love of our lives ☺️ It breaks my heart how some animals are treated 🙁 Donkeys & sheep at the Chateau sounds wonderful 💕
Hi Jenni. It such a relief that she is doing great. She is extremely loving and has a newfound confidence. ❤. The container is here and it’s our stuff. Yay. And most is in good shape. Thank you so much. Hugs and love hugs from Colombe. 🥰😘🥰
Oh so happy for you, having your own 'stuff' around you is so comforting. Have a good week doing some of the unpacking. Give Nessa a big hug from me 🐕🥰
I’d put a day bed in there with tons of pillows, a tea set and pot. To cuddle up for a good book or just cuddle, and an easel. Love seeing support for rescues. I do rescue fundraisers and support pit bull rescues in NY. And adopt them too 🤣🤣 love the vlogs. So glad Nessa is home safe! Cheers 🥂♥️🇫🇷🏰
I run a dog rescue in Texas and all I can state is that rescue cannot happen without donations. Thank you so very much for doing your part. I am elated that Nessa has returned to the nest.
Hi there. Indeed help is needed. And we will purchase and donate and of course, when we are ready, apply to rescuer 2 donkeys. Cannot wait. Maybe even some sheep. Thank you for your work. Nessa is home safe and we are over the moon. Hugs to you from Colombe. 🥰🐕🥰
Good morning Patrick & Stuart, thank you for sharing your expeditions with us. Love the antique finds, the wall table will look stunning with some fresh gilding, it seems to stand in a place where the light will show off all the beautiful carvings and it looks very special as is, but better after a bit of a face lift. The small oak cupboard is gorgeous. It really looked great after the polishing. the wood just looks so rich, that is oak, always a good buy. That small outside room would be ideal for seedlings, if you could make some shelves in there is would be great and maybe squeeze a small working bench/table in there. Yes the windows do need attention, I think the ivy added to the deterioration of the frames and glass. It would look great if you can replace those. I think that project can wait for spring or even a bit later. I am sure Nessa is quite at home with the other dogs, maybe inside she realises that home is home sweet home after all. The private chateaux is beautiful, it is very big as well. Many towers even the gate house looks so impressive. It would be lovely to have some function there, yet, Chateau de Colombe does not have to shy away from any other property, it has it's own unique style and beauty. I am sure she can carry a function with her head held high. Yup, the ivy has to go unfortunately, it ruins walls, roofs and it can become uncontrollable. Remember to mulch the roses before winter to keep the roots away from the frost on the ground. Be happy, take care, it was a lovely video, kind regards, Elize/
Hi there Elize. Thank you. We love finding these small items of wood and revive them. The Ivy (Boston Ivy in this case) was so incredible destructive. I will order the roof tiles soon, not knowing how long it takes. We then can work on it on and off. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 You are absolutely right. That chateau is very impressive. But the cost of upkeep must be killing them. There are many buildings that are deteriorating. And I like your mentioning that all chateaux have their own charm. We actually talked about that we love it but wouldn’t want to. 😂. Stuart mulched thé roses. 😘. But we hardly ever get frost here. 👍🏻🥳👍🏻. Much love from us at Colombe. 💖🥰💖
No short cuts! love the gold finish (don't do a Billy by taking the quick and cheap way out).. put your love and soul and integrity into this beloved Chateau!! 😍
Oh my! I hope the shipping container is yours. Soo glad Nessa has no negative side affects from her journey. Patrick has magical powers bringing wooden pieces back together life! The tables look beautiful. Be well and stay safe, Doc❤
Hi Doc. Indeed it’s our stuff. Yay. 🤣😂🤣. So happy. Nessa is truly a miracle. We are blessed to have her back, more confident and so loving. I always loved working on antique wood furniture. Since I was about 10 years old. Be well too. Much love from Colombe. 💖🐕💖
It's beautiful. You have much to be proud of, Alex. Id be tempted to landscape the grass area in front of the pool house and down the left side of the pool with hydrangeas. Little maintenance, beautiful blooms, perfect light exposure. That would eliminate the need for mowing near the pool
Patrick and Stewart so good to see you. That château was absolutely gorgeous. Can you imagine what it would’ve been like back in its day with a horse carriages going across the moat through the gate keepers house. Oh it must’ve been grand. Well I wish you nothing but Luck and fingers crossed toes crossed and anything else I can cross that your belongings arrive gently to your doorstep. It’ll be like Christmas all over again when you get to unpack. Hold a good thought and surround it and lots of positive juju. As always sending all my love 🎃🤟🏻😎🇺🇸
Dog on it I keep forgetting to tell you how much I love your classical music. Much of it I have played for many years. But it’s so always so delightful. Thank you❤
You can clean old wood pieces, like the little side table you cleaned with cup linseed oil, cup turpentine the boil 2 cups water and mix with the oil and turns. And use fine steel wool and clean the piece. It comes out beautiful. I got this cleaning recipe years ago from an antique dealer. It cleans and also feeds the wood. ♥️♥️♥️😘
The greenery looks very charming and poetically rustic, but oh, the violence it does to walls and a roof! I feel for you! Thank you for the video! I hope you are having a gala time and always remember the progress you are making! I hope your naughty dog is still good and I am not surprised she is happy to be back home getting pampered! How funny if you were accidentally given a delivery that was intended for The Louvre! LOL! Then I would not complain!
If you want more flowers on your climbing roses, tie the branches at least at 45 degrees to horizontal. More branches will sprout upwards from those and will produce even more buds. BTW I've bought a lot of large items in the UK (including a small antique boat with a grandfather clock wrapped up inside!) and shipped them to the states. It takes that long coming this way too.
Gosh I do hope that your shipping containers: 1. Do arrive; and 2. Contain your treasures. Who owns a chateau and has no space to store their belongings? Great job on the furniture restoration, the console will be fabulous when you have worked on it, a special piece. Can't wait to get the news on the containers next week.
O the Cranes! I live under the Pacific Flyway in Northern California & am always spellbound when the Sandhill Cranes fly overhead. Cheers for supporting Animal Rescue! 🥰
The cranes are unbelievable. They actually are resting a few minutes from the chateau. Hundreds of them. Overwhelmingly gorgeous. We have always supported rescues and I had about 8 dogs and Stuart cats. Much love from us. 💖🐕💖
Hi Guys! Yipee, shopping for the chateau. Great job on beautifying the petite desk and night table. Lovely. Yes, a delicate hand on restoring the console table is spot on. Thanks for the quick look at the former art studio. Those windows with the curved tops are wonderful. Can't wait to see it as a greenhouse. How exciting that you will soon be reunited with your belongings. Hugs to Nessa. She has a special place in my heart.🐕❤ Passe une bonne semaine!
Hi Wanda. I love your comment. The greenhouse and the containers arriving are two big items……. So to speak. 😂. Love your comment. Thank you so much. 😘💖😘
Pretty flowers potted Stuart and it’s always nice to clean up the gardens and prep for winter. You have wonderful pieces of furniture I especially love the console table in the hall I can’t believe it’s carved wood so lovely. Great tour of that Chateau amazing. P.S the wedge wood and 2 Busts are very nice on the mantle. Once again a fab video guys ❤❤
I eliminated bamboo with mineral turpentine once I cut it back to the ground. Once the root was dead, I could work on getting it out. The turps breaks down in the soil and doesn't harm sweet dogs, at the time I had my lovely Hobbit. Once the smell is gone you can plant. Might be useful against ivy which is as tenacious as bamboo. Loved the purchases.
Great input. Thank you very much. Will try it this weekend. Anything that helps getting rid of Ivy I’ll happily try. Huge from us and I’ll keep you posted. Hugs from Colombe. 🥰💖🥰
@@patrickjourneytothechateau9452 Good luck and a hug from Oz! Don't use it sparingly, be profligate, I was buying it in 4 litre bottles, 6 at a time. I had a few stands of bamboo so you may not need quite those quantities...
Animal rescue, As you know, is dear to our hearts also. 💕 Patrick, you really are gifted in restorative powers. Animal, vegetable or mineral.😊👍❤️. I pick up so many tips from you guys.
That room you want to make a greenhouse will be stunning once it’s cleaned up and repaired. What a difference clearing the ivy makes. Looking forward to the animal rescue event. Lovely writing desk and night stands. Happy that Nessa is safe without problems at home. Fingers crossed 🤞 your containers arrive soon. Thanks for sharing 😍😘
Hi Rosemarie. I agree, it will be a pretty room. The windows are so pretty. Ivy is so pretty but also a killer. Walls and trees will agree with me 🤣😂🤣. Needs to go. I made an appointment with them for next week. Fingers crossed for the container being all in one piece….. 🤣🥰. Hugs from Colombe. 👍🏻🐕💖🥰
château de baggegon i can imagine the scene of carriages and people in there finery there in the past , patrick the furniture you brought it back to life ,enjoy your containers finally ,stuart will loose patrick for a while looking in them boxes 😘
This was great! A little of everything…..furniture refinishing, gardening, the tour of that FABULOUS chateau….etc. etc. And, about that ivy! So much like the kudzu here in Georgia……Give it an inch and it’ll take a mile. Your future greenhouse will be wonderful. I so wish I could be there to bring you some of my fabulous heirloom tomato plants. Maybe one day. 🤞🏻 P. S. We too love watching the hundreds of Sandhill Cranes as they fly over Georgia every year! So fun that they fly over France as well! Love you guys!! 🥰🥰🥰
Hi Ginny. How are you? Ivy and Kudzu are awful. Lovely plants but a huge pest. We are always busy and that’s a good thing. We love it. I’d love some heirloom tomatoes. Will try to get some seeds here. The cranes are still foraging in the fields around the chateau. It is amazing to see them. They are majestic. Much love to you from Colombe c. 💕💖💕
Hi Sonia. Agreed. We can’t wait when the Ivy lets go and we can see the room. The desk was such a wish list item for me. 1750 and in such good shape. A jewel is a great way of describing it. Thank you so very much. Hugs. 🥰💖🥰
I've got the same they were my mother's; she always called them the Dauphin and Dauphine of France Marie Antoinette son and daughter. You done a lot of work; adore that little room you'll be making into a little greenhouse. Just love you guy's! ♥
Hi John. How are things my friend? The busts are Louise and Alexandre de Brogniart. They are so pretty right? The little room will be just lovely, once one….. 😳😳😳. Lol. That goes for a lot of things. . Be well and thank you so much. Hugs. 😘💋😘
Braver than i on pruning back roses w/ no gloves on even if they really don't help! Luv the mums! Sorry the containers have taken so long to get there but better late than never! Luv idea use the lil studio for a sun room to grow tomatoes!
Thank you so much. I have always been the guy without gloves. Although sometimes I remember…. 🤣😂🤣. The mums are so lovely and yes, the containers are here……. And they are ours. Imagine that. 😮😂😮. Using that little room to grow tomatoes and peppers in the spring is going to be such fun. Thank you so much for your support. Hugs. 🥰💖🥰
Hi Heather. I once learned to slow down in South Africa. It was amazing and then the USA got me going again. We love to slow down and learn to live a calmer life. Thank you so much. Hugs from Colombe. 🥰💗💖
I watched this show about the building of Guedelon castle. They said that the start of the villages were from the homes & workshops of those building the chateaux.
Fingers, toes and everything else X for it to be your things and you get them next week. Just love watching you two, you alway make me smile 😊. Take care. Love and hugs ☺️x
Hi Robert. I am restoring the losses and then will reguild. The problem is the gold spray paint that was put on the console. However, I am using historically accurate gypsum products, historical red base and real leaf gold. I won’t be able to eat or drink for a month but it’s worth is. We had input from a restorer in Versailles. 💗💕💗
Thank you so much Christine. I think so too. We didn’t even know how pretty the windows are till we took some of the branches off (there is a gigantic wasp nest inside the roof…..)😮. Hugs from Colombe. 👍🏻🥰👍🏻
Ooh men, what a battle against Ivy. Ivy should be forbidden. But, once gone, you can put new rooftiles on the roof. Years of neglect are being removed. Love the classic music of intro and your choices. Love your vlogs
So happy you are supporting a animal shelter . I have had the same with ivy it just takes over it's a invader. I'm glad Nessa is settled and happy to be home. Love to all of you Xxxx
Hi Rosa. Yes we always have supported and donated to shelters (animals and women’s). Ivy is awful. Gorgeous plant but not on a house. An invader, indeed. Nessa is so very happy. And we are thrilled. Much love from us at Colombe. 🐕🥰🐕
Yes, we know that vines and other species of plants are stranglers and they can kill trees which is why we had already cut them at the bottom. It is easier to remove the vines from their hold on the trees/walls after they have turned brown and died.
Love the purchases! Good to support the animal rescue (looking forward to that vlog)! Horrifying to see just how destructive Boston Ivy is -- I had always heard it, but it is another matter to see it. Stuart, do remember that you have Patrick saying ON TAPE that he listens to you!! Might prove useful! LOL! Good luck with the container! I will be entertaining plumbers the next couple of days! God help me and my bank account!
Hello my friend. Thank you so much. There is more coming. 😳😜😳. Ivy and Boston Ivy have their place…… but not on walls or roofs…. 😂😂😂. You are too funny. Yes I said it and I might regret it too 😂😂😂. But it is true. I do listen to him…… 🤩🥳🤩. Good luck with the plumbers!!! Fingers crossed. Huge hugs and I hope your Midwestern winter will be mild. 😘🥰😘💗💗💗
Once again , a wonderful episode ! I missed the live but just made a cocktail and enjoyed the replay. Call me crazy , but since I have been watching you two & your interaction and care of your fur babies , I have always felt that you two would be great at rescueing donkey's. My husband and I rescued one that was never handled at ten years old, she is truely a treasure and great part of our herd.
Hi Karen. Thank you and cheers! 😘. We will be looking for 2 rescue donkeys and maybe a cat or 2. Although, who’d have guessed, there are 2 cats who might be residents of the empty barns now. 👍🏻. We just need a bit more time and work done and the right fencing. So glad you found a donkey to rescue. I envy you. 🥰😘🥰
Hi fellas, lovely to see your smiling faces. Great find on the table and to support a rescue, doesn't get better than that. Sorry, no guess on the date for the table. God bless you and yours. Love, jenwhite 🥰 ❤ 💖 ♥ 💕 💓
Hi Jen. Hope you are recovering fast. Thank you so much as always, I love your comments. We are looking back to the next visit to the sanctuary. We love what they do. Hugs to you and greetings to your hubby. 💖🥰🐕
Unfortunately I found out last week that the fall I had caused some problems with my wounds and it isn't healing as fast. So I am putting all my effort into getting well by resting quite a bit of the day choosing one thing to do as a project like painting for a little while or cooking for a little while. Seems silly but one must do it one must do. I did find out that I lost 16 lb. Which is a miracle because I have Cushing's disease. So they need to go in and take a tumor off of my adrenal gland. And it'll go away it's the only cure. But I can have a surgery without the wound healing and I'm so close on that. I haven't lost any hope at all because I know that I fight for everything I need physically. So if you and Stuart have a moment please pray for me. God says that were two or more of you are gathered together there am I in the midst of you and you are two. I don't know if you're religious, however, I am. In high school I went to a Christian boarding school. Thank you so much for caring about my life, as I care about yours and s t u a r t s. It's very nice getting to know you and I'm hoping to see you in a couple of years for a 40th anniversary we plan to travel there in France to stay with a few of you that we are getting to know. Tom lives vicariously through me. LOL you would like him he's a kind man. God bless you and yours. Love, jenwhite 🥰 ❤ 💖 ♥ 💕 💓
@@jenwhitelife2464 Hi there my dear. We are so sorry to hear that. We will absolutely light a candle for you in our chapel and pray for your recovery. Why did we get a chapel that was consecrated in 1644 if not to use it! Loosing 16 pounds, that is amazing. And concentrating on one things is a great way to keep busy without overdoing it. Please let us know when you go in so we can pray for you then too. We are very spiritual and we are with you 💖🥰💖🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Patrick, thank you so much for the encouragement. I'm so looking forward to visiting each chateau and meeting the people that I've been writing to. You've been so blessed to be a part of that big group of people now. It's good that you all have one another over there. jenwhite ❤
Boy, you’re a busy boy Patrick! All that gardening and furniture restoration too! I’m sure Stuart has been a contributor too but seems to be the other side of the camera and editor as well. Fingers crossed that you get your shipping container although then you have to unpack which is one of those painful jobs. 😣 But still it will be wonderful to have your things around you again. The chateau will feel more yours then.
Hi there Jennifer. You are so right. Stuart is as busy as I am and doing the videos (I couldn’t do that), and working with me. But as you noticed, he is filming almost all of the footage. I love you noticed. The containers are here……. Don’t tell anyone yet. Hugs darling
Hi guys, Thanks for the great aerial view of your property! I had no idea there were so many buildings involved. And a swimming pool! The night stand turned out beautiful! Love from North Central Florida!
Hi Rita. The only part that is not ours is the swimming pool. 😳😭😳. But the rest is ours (everything to the left from there). Hugs to Florida (I loved my 5 years in FL. 😍💖😍
They ought to put a tracker on the containers just as they do with our parcels. Interesting to see where exactly in the world, or the ocean they might be.
Another wonderful vid. The cranes leaving were stunningly beautiful. Thank you both so much for sharing your journey So we can all go ooh aah with you!
Catching up this week, the outdoor area of your Chateau is so lovely, it is really big with lots of little nooks and crannies, I love all the trees and shrubs and I hope it's your stuff and it's all in good shape. Cheers to you both!
Thank you Susanne. It is true. All the small spaces and surprised makes this so magical. Fingers crossed for those containers. Huge hugs from Colombe. 💖🥰
Wow great Ariel shot you have so many buildings to get too your going to be busy for a very long time yeh yeh!!! Love seeing the new gardens and buildings. 🍷🍷🐾🐾🥰💐🇨🇦
Thank you so much Marilyn. It is such a joy to have her back. I think she is happy too. Not kidding. She seems so happy now. Glad you enjoy our journey and we appreciate your comments. Hugs. 💖🥰👍🏻🐕🐕🐕🐕
That little town was so quaint and fingers crossed for the shipping containers, I'm definitely someone that likes my "things" around so I couldn't imagine not having access to them for months on end
Thank you so much Stephanie. The town is adorable. I know what you mean and we are looking forward to the arrival and having certain things back. Hugs from us at Colombe. 🥰💖🥰
Love the furniture pieces you found. And taking us sightseeing with you is the best. It is the only way some of us will ever see such beautiful places. That chateaux was huge for one family! Can just imagine the small village that must have lived there back in the middle ages. Thank you so much for taking us a!ong!
Tables were very pretty. And I do hope you receive ur containers very soon. And as Stuart said, if it’s not your stuff it at least better be better stuff,,, tooo funny. 🤣🤣🤣
So happy Nessa doing well the work on the console and the night table is looking good you could cut the fig tree all the way down they’re will grow back
Hi Danielle. I love working on old furniture. 😊. Thanks for the tip the first two trunks really need to go. I may attempt to shorten the branches too. Hugs 🥰💖🥰
Love your happy go lucky attitudes. Too many grumbling grumps around now days… you seem to step over each hurdle and just keep persevering. I’m 78 years old and can attest from years of experience that your positive attitudes will propel you to a successful and happy life. Patrick, did you cut your hair? I really like it this length…it is curly and so pretty (oh dear, I’m afraid my adjectives are very old school). You’ll have to excuse my grand motherly ways. Keep filming your daily videos as I’m still watching and enjoying from PA, USA. … You and Stuart are definitely keepers…. tickled that Nessie is back safe and sound. 😀❤️
Hi Paula. My granny, who was born in 1907 always said that complaining doesn’t change anything and she was right. I miss her often. She’d love it here. Being positive is so important. I haven’t touched my hair in months. It curls up at times. I use the same adjectives, so we are both happily old school. We send you much love and hugs from us at Colombe. 🥰💖🥰
In response to your question: the console is Napoleon III, neo Louis XV which was very popular with the Empress Eugénie. So, third quarter 19th century.
Saw you trimming around a climbing rose. Are you aware that you will get many more blooms if you tie the canes into as horizontal a position as possible? A vertical cane will just bloom at the top; a horizontal one will send up small vertical shots along its entire length and each shoot will produce blooms. So you'll increase the number of blooms by a factor of ten, twenty or more depending on the length of the cane. You guys are so knowledgeable that you probably already know this. A ton of work ahead to get your jungle under control but I envy you all the mature plants to work with! Have you considered some plexiglass roof panels on your greenhouse-to-be to increase light? Since you're having to replace the roof anyway incorporating a few would be a great way to maximize light.
Hi Elizabeth. Yes we know about the horizontal canes. I will get to that in the spring. Although we also want a few flowers up high. 🥰. I will order some glass tiles for the roof. Same shape. They fit right in with the other tiles. Great comment and input. Thank you so much. Hugs from Colombe. 💗👍🏻💗
Great video again look forward to the conclusions of the containers hopefully they are yours but if not what a volg you always look on the bright side of life cheers
Cheers Jim. Thank you so much. So kind of you. It would have been quite a surprise but it is our stuff….. yay. And yes, my glass is always half full and if it’s not, I can refill it (I hope) . 🤣😂🤣. Huge hugs from Colombe. 👍🏻🍾👍🏻
@@patrickjourneytothechateau9452 That is one of the earlier ones….there are several ones on jewelry: how to buy gemstones and „If you want diamonds but can‘t afford them“ (many useful tips and tricks). BTW, the console table is amazing!
I have never commented before, but I enjoy you both! I just have one suggestion, if you have to replace that portion of the roof, can you make that glass or plexiglass? That would really solidify the greenhouse idea.
Hi there Joyce. Welcome to comments and thank you so much. We appreciate it very much. We will try to het glass tiles for some of the roof love your input. Thank you so much. 👍🏻🥰👍🏻
Thanks for the steal wool tip! I always learn something from you two. The little desk is beautiful. I’d still love to go to France on a buying trip, and fill a container. By the time I receive it, it will be worth much more as it will take years to reach its destination 😂😂😂. As always, I wish you both a great week.💗💗
Hi Sarah. 🤣😂🤣. You’d make a fortune from the time you buy till you get the containers….. 10, 20 years…. 😳😂. It is actually our stuff and we helped unloading. Great guys. Love that you posted this before the premiere. Huge hugs from us at Colombe. 😍🥰🐕💖

Lovely vlog....nasty ivy! SO excited for your shipment to arrive from the USA! It will be like Christmas opening all the boxes! The "greenhouse" room will be perfect for spring plants! I'm interested in the neighboring property with the pool and it look like this was once part of the chatuea..... Hate to see the fig trees come down but they are getting out of hand and will be healthier when pruned and cut back. Carry on! Cheers!
Hi Jill. Ivy is nasty on trees and buildings….. 😳😡😳. The greenhouse room will be so pretty. Once repaired. The property next door was part of the chateau. Barn yard and grain storage. Sold the our neighbors in 1990s. We’d buy it if we could afford it. 😜🤗🤩. The fig tree needs to be pruned. It’s actually 6 trees…. 🥰. Thanks for the feedback. And big hugs from Colombe. 💕🥰💕
Love the ivy room with all those windows. It’ll be amazing once restored. Good luck with the container.😉😂 Daumen sind gedrückt! Bannegon is beautiful!😍
So happy your shipping container is arriving. Will be so nice to have your personal things at long last. The cranes were beautiful. Thanks for sharing them, ive never actually seen them in person. You guys are so special, my husband and i are dealing with his serious health issues now and believe me watching you guys puts a needed smile on both our faces. Love your channel. Cant wait to see you unpacking and remembering all your stuff.
Thank very much Angela. I saw a few hundred of them in the fields South of us. Amazing sight. We are very sorry to hear about your husband’s health issues and wish a speedy recovery. I will light a candle in our chapel for you two.. We are glad we can bring smiles and a bit of distraction to people. Love and hugs to you both from us in Colombe. 💖🥰😘🥰💖
I had a fight with some of that darn Boston ivy and in fact it completely took over the back fence until one day there was a huge windstorm and the weight of that stuff flattened the fence to the ground....posts snapped off and all....what a mess. That stuff is stronger than cement! I love your recent purchases! Oh, I am so happy to hear you are finally going to HOPEFULLY get your container!!! Love the little verbal smack you gave Stuart when you spoke German! Good to hear Nessa is doing well.
Boston Ivy can be a huge disaster. I’m sorry you had that happening to you. 😡. We love our little purchases and it’s fun to restore the wood to full life. Don’t tell anyone but we got our containers. 🥰💖🥰
Wonderful episode gentlemen, I had to be more of an observer as kids were also wanting to talk to me but I was there! That table in the hall is going to be amazing once restored! Glad to see all are well and keeping busy. Not that I think you two are idle very often. ❤️
Hi Steph. Like you, we are never quite idle. Glad you are there for your kids. Love your comment. The table will be really pretty and quite an eye catcher. Hugs from Colombe and our love to your family. 😍😘🐕
Hi Patrick, the greenhouse might need a window or skylight with an adjustable mechanism (like loft skylights) which allows air into the greenhouse but prevents rain from entering the building. The interior of the exposed building could become too hot or too cold for plants depending on the season. It might also be necessary to protect any fabric or plastic stored in the greenhouse. during damp or very cold weather. When I was a gardening novice, some of my plastic wrapping and materials deteriorated when left in my greenhouse as the seasons changed. I don't know if some type of heater might be necessary for the plants too as the weather might become even more unpredictable due to climate changes in the near future.
Hi Christine. Thank you. We will have glass tiles and open the door daily. We hardly ever get frost here. Low temperatures yes but not the -20 we were used to in the Midwest. Like you, I made the same mistake of leaving things and they deteriorated. Weather is becoming unpredictable. We are, according to climate scientist, in a safer zone. Hugs to you 💖

Hi Joyce. What an honor to have you stay and watch us for a year now. 💕💖💕. It is indeed our stuff. Yay. 🎉🎉🎉🎉. I have to confess, I always wanted to visit Dumfires to see Dumfires House. Sorry it is so very wet right now. 😳. Much love from us and one day we will stop by and see that wonderful estate (if we are lucky). 💕💖💕
Oh my goodness, I certainly hope they are your belongings being delivered, and I hope the delivery comes as promised. Even having nowhere to put everything, you are going to feel like it’s Christmas as you open boxes and crates. It will feel good having your familiar things around. The chateau you visited was so extremely magical. Thank you for sharing it with us. I’m so happy Nessa is doing well and I hope she told her brothers and sisters that it’s not much fun running away from home! Will you be able to add some glass to a small section of the roof above the space you want to use for a greenhouse? Like a skylight that can open for ventilation when it gets warmer. Just a thought. I love greenhouses, my parents had a beautiful one, and I had a small one but I loved taking cuttings of my annuals and rooting new ones for the following summer for my urns and starting seedlings of vegetables. Anyway, hugs and I love your vlogs. xx
Hi Stephanie. They were our belongings…. 🎉🎉🎉. We started unpacking and finding things is wonderful. Lots of fun. The chateau we visited is truly overwhelming. In beauty and upkeep. We love it. I sure hope Nessa told her family that being alone in the wild during thunderstorm and hale storms is no fun. We honestly have not fully recovered from searching for her every day. I will be ordering glass tiles for the roof. We will be opening the door for ventilation. Next year we will try to take cuttings. Love the suggestion. Huge hugs. 💗💖💗
@@patrickjourneytothechateau9452 I am so happy you are taking my suggestion for the greenhouse roof. My parents had gorgeous gardens and urns. They rooted everything in the greenhouse. My mom would carry a pretty hanky every time she went to special gardens and would snip a small cutting of a plant and put it in her hanky until she could dip it in rooting hormone and potting soil or sand. My parents enjoyed gardening well into their nineties and were married over 70 years. Flowers were their hobby together. My sister and I have giant plants from cuttings from our great grandparents!!! 💕
Nice to know that Nessia is doing well, great work in the garden's and you both bought some beautiful pieces of furniture this week too came up beautifully, the trip out to the quaint town a lovely day for it too ,nice video once again Patrick and Stuart see you both Sunday xx
Hi Carole. Thank you. It’s fun work preparing for spring. 🥰😘🥰 Glad you enjoyed the furniture. The day was just perfect for our outing, weather charity and the town too. See you Sunday and huge hugs from Colombe. 💖🥰💖
I’m so happy to hear that Nessa is doing well and I’m sure her pack is happy to have her back. From one shopper to another, I love seeing your finds and look forward to how you incorporate them into the château! It will be like Christmas when that container finally arrives!
Thank you so much. We are all happy to have her back. We love our little sopping trips. It’s like a chase. 😊😂. They are here and you are right. 💗🐕💗
Oooh .. your channel just gets better & better .. you supporting an animal rescue & sanctuary ☺️ I’m all up for that, well done guys ❤️
@@patrickjourneytothechateau9452
Hello Patrick. The 4 dogs we have in our family are all rescues. We have one, my daughter two & my son has one. And our previous dog was also a rescue. They are the love of our lives ☺️
It breaks my heart how some animals are treated 🙁 Donkeys & sheep at the Chateau sounds wonderful 💕
Вот это красота нашей Земли -клин журавлей ,летящих на юг!
So happy Nessa is ok. You two make me laugh out loud, you really are good fun. Hope the container comes safely, and is yours! 😘
You are absolutely right.
You only have to laugh Patrick, you always change my mood to smiling back at you 😊
Hi Sharon. Thank you so much, you just made my day. Much love from Colombe. 💖🥰💖
The chandelier looks beautiful reflected in the mirror behind you.
YAY for finally getting your belongings!!!
Thank you❤
Hi Liz. What a wonderful comment. I love it. We will keep have more footage about the containers next week. Hugs and love from Colombe. 💖🥰💖
@@patrickjourneytothechateau9452 Back atcha sweetie!!
Great recipe. Thank you. I always use the finest steel wool. It’s the best. Hugs. 💗🥰💗
Gosh I do hope that your shipping containers:
1. Do arrive; and
2. Contain your treasures.
Who owns a chateau and has no space to store their belongings?
Great job on the furniture restoration, the console will be fabulous when you have worked on it, a special piece. Can't wait to get the news on the containers next week.
Thank you so much Jayne. Much love from us and there will be news next week…. 🥰💖🥰
Love you guys ! And happy that Nessa is doing well! Send you love to both of you , keep your positive attitude.
What I love about this chateau is all the pinks and blues. Whether it’s on walls with faded paint or shutters, it makes it rather enchanting….
Hi Kim. That is such a great insight. I absolutely love it. Thank you so much. 👍🏻🥰👍🏻
Thank you Ivy. Very kind of you. We like the items too. Hugs from Colombe. 😘🥰😘
Thank you, Gloria! ❤️❤️❤️
💋💋💋💋. Thank you darling. We will be back there this week….😮😮😮😮. And we went to 2 antique fairs last weekend. I’ll send you photos. 🤗🤩🤗
thanks gents

château de baggegon i can imagine the scene of carriages and people in there finery there in the past , patrick the furniture you brought it back to life ,enjoy your containers finally ,stuart will loose patrick for a while looking in them boxes 😘
Hi there Kath. That is so true. And I spend a lot of time working with gesso paste on a soft restoration on the console table. 😘🥰😘. Love your comment.
Oh how lovely that room would look with all that ivy gone! That ivy totally hides those windows😢 I love that little writing desk, it is such a jewel😍
Hi Sonia. Agreed. We can’t wait when the Ivy lets go and we can see the room. The desk was such a wish list item for me. 1750 and in such good shape. A jewel is a great way of describing it. Thank you so very much. Hugs. 🥰💖🥰
The flowers are so beautiful and I love how you guys don't try and mend everything and honor the house's age 😍
Thank you so much. I like that you understand why we don’t want this to look “new”. Huge hugs from us at Colombe.
Hugs. 🥰💖🥰

I watched this show about the building of Guedelon castle. They said that the start of the villages were from the homes & workshops of those building the chateaux.

🤣. Absolutely true. Thank you so much. 🥰💕🥰
Omg love that console table, I agree keep its history is the right way to go..
Hi Robert. I am restoring the losses and then will reguild. The problem is the gold spray paint that was put on the console. However, I am using historically accurate gypsum products, historical red base and real leaf gold. I won’t be able to eat or drink for a month but it’s worth is. We had input from a restorer in Versailles. 💗💕💗
Patrick I so love your positive attitude! LOL
Hi Donna. Thank you so much. That is truly kind of you to say. Love from Colombe. 🥰💖🥰
Love the idea of the south facing greenhouse, the windows are so pretty there.
Thank you so much Wanda. Ivy is a huge problem. We will reroof and repair the damage. Very nice to read your comment. 🥰💖🥰
I noticed you have vines growing up your fig trees. I heard Nick, who is Stephanie's tree guy, say that vines on trees slowly strangle them.
A wonderful idea to use that old stable for a greenhouse, with those arched windows, it will be a lovely space that you'll really enjoy!
Hi Lora. I think you are right. A few restorations and it will be a lovely light filled space. Can’t wait. Hugs. ❤
I envy you. 🥰😘🥰

I love the windows in your „studio ferme“ - so incredibly beautiful!
Thank you. They are so pretty. Need a lot of restoration and it’s going to be fun. I have to watch your latest vlog. I saw diamonds……. ❤
Or even repurpose old windows
My idea too 😊
Hi there Joyce.
I posted this before you mentioned your containers 😂😂😂
Hi Sarah. 🤣😂🤣. You’d make a fortune from the time you buy till you get the containers….. 10, 20 years…. 😳😂. It is actually our stuff and we helped unloading. Great guys. Love that you posted this before the premiere. Huge hugs from us at Colombe. 😍🥰🐕💖
Just wanted to pop in and say that I have the music you use now on my Spotify playlist! And supporting an animal rescue - you both are the best!!
Hi Char. It is such lovely music. Glad you got it. 🎉. We will be back to the rescue later this week……. Just saying 🥰😘🥰
Fingers crossed 🤞 the container arrives! That will be exciting.
Thank you. It indeed is exciting. Did you ship stuff over to France? 💋🥰💋
@@patrickjourneytothechateau9452 Yes, I will be shipping stuff. I'm sorting through the content of my two houses. I will be shipping my art collection, a few key pieces of furniture, and some household & kitchen items. The rest of it will be sold via an estate agent. One house is already sold so it's my focus first and the other house is about to be listed. Thanks for asking. 😄
@@nativetexson Hi there Glenn. I do not envy you but once you are here, it is all worth it. Congrats on you fist sale. Have you already purchased here? Sorry if forgot..... blonde and ageing 🤣😂🤣 I hope you'll stop by sometimes. If you want any input, please let me know. There are things, depending on what you bought, you might want to bring.
patrick@journeytothechateau.com
Don't hesitate to email me. fingers crossed for your second sale.
🥰
Omg those crains.beautiful.
Aren’t they?!? Almost make me cry thinking about their long flight south. Love them. 👍🏻💖👍🏻
Love the ivy room with all those windows. It’ll be amazing once restored. Good luck with the container.😉😂 Daumen sind gedrückt! Bannegon is beautiful!😍
Hallo Nicole. Thank you so much. It is quite lovely (or will be once a bit restored). Die Kontainer wurden geliefert. Hurrah. Huge hugs. 🥰💖🥰
👍🏻 coming along nicely.
Thank you 👍🏻💖👍🏻
Night stand looks so nice. great job. hopefully u get your shipping container
💕🥰💕
@@patrickjourneytothechateau9452 HURRAY!!!! I can't wait to see what's in them!!!!
I love the little room with the beautiful old windows. What a joyful place it will be to grow things 💜
Thank you so much Book Hermit. It would be a nice place to read but we have a few of those. Hugs. 😍💖😍
Very nice 🙂
I can't wait to see the next chapter in the console tables story, it is so beautiful!
Hi there. I love that you are excited about the next chapter of the console table. We will be very gentle. Hugs from Colombe. 🥰😍🥰
Hugs to you 💖
Your doing great! I look forward to seeing the shipping containers and all your lovely things once again, thanks for the giggles x
Thanks so much! 😊
Hi there. Pleasure to make people giggle. I truly mean that. I see myself as a boring guy. 😂 am looking forward to some new clothes….. 🤣😂🤣. They will seem new. Thank you so much for your comment. Hugs 💖😘🥰
@@patrickjourneytothechateau9452 boring I don’t think so! You bring smiles to everyone’s faces with your views on life, I for one know I will giggle watching your vlogs and you brighten my day.
Loved seeing the cranes
They are resting in the fields around us before flying to Africa. Amazing. 🥰💖🥰
It will be exciting to see all your own things again after all this time, and you’ll feel you are finally home with your personal things around you at last .
That is such wonderful observation. Thank you so much. Hugs from Colombe. 💕💖💕👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
My goodness that is some stout ivy! I hope it isn't holding up the building! LOL
Hi Cathy. You might be right….. 😳😂😳
It's such fun watching you two living your best life! My life's ambition is to have a donkey (never happen) they are such beautiful creatures, I look forward to you accuring one? ! I will live vicariously through you! Point to note....no good just having one donkey. They will be lonely!!!!!! 🤭
Another fantastic vlog!!!! Oh my life fingers crossed, arms crossed everything crossed in hopes that the shipping container is yours ❤❤❤❤🥳🥳😂 ill cry for yous if its not 🤣 still such a relief to hear about nessa. I'm glad she's happy to be home ❤🥰 she has great loving parents and a great home ❤❤❤❤ that side table is beautiful if only it could talk...imagine the stories it would tell just like the chateau...out buildings...the ground itself. Its such a fascinating thing to me. ❤❤❤❤❤ can't wait to see the next vlog. So much excitement!!! 🥰🥰🥰
Hi there Frankie. Thank you so much. 🥰💋🥰. I feel the same way about the containers. 😜😳😜. Nessa being home is the best thing we can think of.
Like you, I imagine what furniture, rooms, buildings and gardens could tell us……. Love it. Hugs 💕💗💕
💛💛
Loved this episode. Please can you tell me the name of the piece you played during the tour of the other chateau that can be rented for weddings. A gorgeous piece, I played flute in school. So enjoyed the view and the piece. Stuart you should wear your glasses more they look very smart on you. As well your positive outlook is so refreshing and lovely to watch. So enjoy your vlog. Patrick I so enjoy your camera work. So calming and professional. ❤️❤️
My apologies gentlemen I got your names mixed up. In my defence I am on a strong antibiotic for a sinus infection. I will certainly be more aware next time.🫤
Forgot to say I’m not sure I can make it for later, I’ll watch as soon as I can .. here’s cake to share for later .. 🍰🍰💕 🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾😊
Love it. ❤❤❤
Just to let you know I just love these blogs watched from day 1 it get better and better hope you get your own trunks you've waited long enough sending hugs from joyce in stormy very wet Dumfries Scotland
💕🌼🌼🤗
Hi Carole. Thank you. It’s fun work preparing for spring. 🥰😘🥰 Glad you enjoyed the furniture. The day was just perfect for our outing, weather charity and the town too. See you Sunday and huge hugs from Colombe. 💖🥰💖
