I would like to add that the first video of terrified Yuna in her tiny cage reduced me to tears, and I was mentally begging for someone to help her. I donated on a few occasions to try to do a little because I couldn’t bear to think of her suffering, and knew I couldn't be thinking that somebody should help without doing something (however small) myself. Today I am crying again, but this time it's because I am so happy to see Yuna so much improved already, and on her way to living her best life. Thank you, BCS. Love to Yuna.❤
Me quedo sin palabras ante la barbarie humana. Sólo puedo llorar de rabia e impotencia. Thank you a todos los rescatistas de todas partes del Planeta.🤝🫂
Next time you think “I want this I want that, I need this new item” just think on Yuna and how the only thing she needs is a ball and some grass to make her happy. I think you’ll find that your new item won’t make you happy. That you’ve probably already got what you need
Well done, Yuna. You are so brave - keep going, your life will be better by the day❤ Well done, BCS. Such a massive improvement in Yuna in such a short space of time. I know there is a way to go, but there is already no comparison to the cat that was in the cage in Ukraine, growling in sheer terror. Thank you for all you are doing to build up her mental and physical strength.❤❤❤
On a tv news bulletin a few weeks ago, BCS said they hope to form a mini pride with the other lions being rescued from Ukraine. I would imagine that their health and compatibility will need to be carefully assessed first, so it could be a slow process.
Yuna you are such a magnificent majestic queen I am so happy to see your progress you are absolutely amazing and BCS thank you for taking care of this spectacular big cat she is a beauty ♥️🇨🇦

@@dreamer8474 "This insane war" was started by him. So Yuna's suffering is in great part because of this maniacal messianic cleptocrat. Not that traditional Zoo's should cease to exist anywhere thought. Just imagine this lovely cat in some other place like Kevin Richardson's rescue lions proyect in South Africa, just to name maybe one if not the best example. Maybe if her condition allows in the future she has a chance.
Hi. Yuna was suffering before the war, as she was part of illegal pet trade, but the war made her suffering so much worse. She has a bright future at the Sanctuary. She has only ever lived in a confined space and only had human contact. She needs to be rehabilitated in an environment that feels safe to her. At the Sanctuary, she will eventually have some lion companions, all being well, along with the human contact she is familiar with. She will have more space than she has ever had, alongside the security of the Sanctuary. Poor Yuna has endured enough - it would be terribly cruel to put her in a completely unfamiliar environment in the name of freedom. I don't believe that all zoos and sanctuaries are bad, considering the role of properly regulated facilities in conservation and education. It is not an idealists world; humans have not left many safe wild habitats for animas. In addition, many African reserves allow their animals to be.hunted for financial gain and, at the moment, due to a drought, some countries in Africa are culling animals such as elephants to feed the population.
Luv u, Yuna. Hard to contain tears. Immense thanks to the magnanimous hearts who donated $$$$$, rescued & the beautiful & dedicated care team at the sanctuary. Is it possible to have a live cam for a global community to follow her & other residents? Thanks kindly 🙏 💕
I just came across your channel. Unbelievable. What you’re doing for her absolutely brought tears to my eyes. Keep up the great work and keep rescuing as many as you can.
What a marvellous video. So good to see her settled in and trying out new things. This must be so different from her previous existence. Many more years ahead for her in her new home

I LOVE that this kitty was rescued so thank you for that. But WHY is every video from The Big Cat Sanctuary so SHORT? I would love to see longer videos please? Surely you must have thousands of hours worth of videos of every cat you have?

Just yesterday I thought what's happening w-Yuna. This was really sweet. Will she eventually gain full muscle tone in her back legs. But what's going on Rori -- will you give an update -- we'd love to see how he is.

@@Mcat7101 Yes absolutely watched it. I just get too emotional/concerned with the animal situations. I've been watching the rescues those amazing people are doing in Lebanon, putting their lives on the line in the midst of bombings to get out as many cats (pets) & some dogs as possible. Thanks.

Yuna has a dim view of her own kind in that she was caged with a male lion that kept attacking her whenever bombs fell in Ukraine, so integrating her with other lions will be a long process.
@@starriderkittykat9064There was a feature on TV a few months ago about BCS and the rescued lions, and the hope is that they will form a mini pride. This is awesome. I’d like to know more of Yuna’s story but scrolling videos at this channel I can’t find her backstory (only from other commenters). Playlists would be helpful.

I did the scent thing with my rescue dog and a sock with a knot. Put some lamb fat on it. He didn’t know how to play and had acted like it was a torture device. Two days later, I saw something hanging from his butt. Yep. He ate it. Never did that again… So I got a big hefty bone from a hunter and gave it to the dog. The next day I came home from work to discover the dog had removed all traces of the scent from the bone that had transferred to the carpet…by licking the carpet bare down to the backing. It was a six inch diameter bare spot in the middle of the living room. The dog was fine, but he got bones outside after that. But when they came out with the big dog toys with a chamber for food, I tried it with a new dog. (First one had lived to old age and passed.) The new dog with the toy…he shredded it, ate some of the pieces. Vet X-rays to ensure he didn’t have a blockage, and a few meals of rice w/ a few spoonfuls of canned pumpkin helped them pass. I only use food as treats, now, and never combine it with toys.

Perfume? Ok, lion chews on perfumed ball. She's now conditioned to chew things with perfume on them. Unsuspecting care taker wearing said perfume is cleaning the cage and forgets to close the lion's gate. Lion smell perfume, chew time, chews on care taker, lion gets put down.
The ball will leave a scent on the grass as it is moved about. Yuna is not being trained to eat perfumed items, but being given the chance to pick up scents as she would in the wild, where she would pick up any scents other than prey.
