This is the exact reason why I hate when people say that Bron can't win the the finals when people are GOAT debating. He would carry teams there, then get beat by the dynasty. MJ was favored in every finals, because the dynasty teams were always in the east WITH mj. He would lose to them in the conference finals, while lebron would always make it to the finals (8 years in a row like wth). Tbh I don't think 6/6 is much better than 4/10, because Bron was able to get to 4 more finals.
Bron carried a grand total of two teams to the finals, and no one blames him for losing those. That was in 2007 and 2018. 2015 he had his teammates through the playoffs but they were out for the finals. And hard quotations on 2007 because he had one of the best defenses in the league, and mainly carried the offense. He underperformed in the finals and couldn't deal with the spurs defense. But he still gets a pass for that by 95% of the community. But now you have 3 more finals losses to account for without the "carry" excuse. I don't know how to break this to you, but if you're talking about the greatest of all time, rings are one of the greatest indicators of success, and the greatest accolade in the sport. That's what you are playing for: to WIN. Not for a finalist spot. If you ask players if they prefer 6 finals appearances or two rings, most will tell you they'd take the rings. That meant the job was actually finished and the award was won. Most will play hard until they get their hands on that ring. Don't get me wrong, finals appearances are incredible. Being there 10 times is why bron is undisputed top 5 in the sport. But for greatest? There is no room for blunders. Having such a lopsided record in the finals and less rings than his competitor is a huge blemish on his GOAT case (not his overall career). And MJ didn't face any dynasties when he won because he didn't LET THEM become dynasties. The Utah Jazz were incredibly capable, but he stopped them twice. And like you said, MJ faced them in his conference, which were often times harder than the finals. He toppled the Pistons dynasty, which was one of two that he struggled with. And he prevented the Knicks, Magic, and Pacers from becoming dynasties. He is so highly regarded, not because he defeated the best, but because he was undisputably the best. He WAS the dynasty. That's not his competitors' faults for not being dynasties. MJ was just that good, and then retired multiple times because there was not much for him to prove. Bron is still fighting to prove something.
