Corruption is an issue true. But who is corrupting and empoverishing Africa. For anyone to shout from rooftops about African poverty, it shows that they are behind on the African debate. The HDI is actually disputed between the UN and the World Bank.
Actually corruptions isn't an issue with the population. It is because ex-colonian powers like France are known to rig elections in these countries, and place people that are already close and trusted to the colonian powers. Some countries know this, and are starting to take actions like Niger's overturn. They don't want african to have the real talented people governing, because you saw what happened with Libya. Libya was getting rich so fast and it's population too with good conditions of living, that it's was challenging the permanent UN members. But when Gaddafi wanted to create an African currency based an natural ressource but wih countries like RDC sitting on 24 trillion USD worth of natural ressource you understand why he was killed...Noting to do with terrorism which is a dumb excue USA have been using since forever like Iraq. Now they exploit these countries togeder with countries like France for oil. If they actually let the real people run for president without always rigging, most of these countries wouldn't have such terrible living conditions.

If you have been to both Zim and Nigeria, you wouldn't complain. Rwanda is trying, but they are coming from a deep pit. Kenya is the home of one of the biggest slum in the world. Crime in Kenya is saddening. Zimbabweans are just too loud. They complain too much because at some point, Zimbabwe used to be the 2nd most sophisticated economy in Africa, so the disappointment with the current trajectory is huge. This is HDI ranking, not how beautiful a country is. It is human development index. How developed the the masses are in any country. It takes into account, education, health, distributed wealth etc. It is for this reason why almighty Nigeria is only slightly ahead of Rwanda in spite of the massive Nigeria wealth. Also people equate Kigali to the country Rwanda. There is real poverty in rural Rwanda. To date only 57% of Rwanda have safe drinking water. Only 53% of Rwanda have access to electricity. The capital Kigali has developed well, but the country Rwanda is a poor one.
Malawi cannot be said to have moved up from 49 to 39. These statistics are highly disputed. It depends on which side of the argument you stand. Fir example, rural communities may not have electricity and water. But they grow their own organic food which is healthier than the developed who eat go foods These folks do nit need much money to leave their lives as most of their food is generally free. Chickens give meat and eggs. Cattle, goats etc., produce free mill meet, hides, etc. The list goes on. The animal waste fertilises the soil. The homes are rent free. There is much more benefit as the air quality is amazing. I can't even begin to compare these two lifestyles..

I'm surprised, given the desperate need for us to leave ecosystems in tact, that a country like DR Congo doesn't get points for poor roads that prevent the massive destruction of its forests. That said (and having grown up in this country), I feel strongly that its people are the most resourceful and ingenious in the world. Hopefully, the younger generation will work toward a good balance of sustainably while harvesting the country's bounty.

Corruption is an issue true. But who is corrupting and empoverishing Africa. For anyone to shout from rooftops about African poverty, it shows that they are behind on the African debate. The HDI is actually disputed between the UN and the World Bank.

Actually corruptions isn't an issue with the population. It is because ex-colonian powers like France are known to rig elections in these countries, and place people that are already close and trusted to the colonian powers. Some countries know this, and are starting to take actions like Niger's overturn.
They don't want african to have the real talented people governing, because you saw what happened with Libya. Libya was getting rich so fast and it's population too with good conditions of living, that it's was challenging the permanent UN members. But when Gaddafi wanted to create an African currency based an natural ressource but wih countries like RDC sitting on 24 trillion USD worth of natural ressource you understand why he was killed...Noting to do with terrorism which is a dumb excue USA have been using since forever like Iraq. Now they exploit these countries togeder with countries like France for oil.
If they actually let the real people run for president without always rigging, most of these countries wouldn't have such terrible living conditions.

If you have been to both Zim and Nigeria, you wouldn't complain. Rwanda is trying, but they are coming from a deep pit. Kenya is the home of one of the biggest slum in the world. Crime in Kenya is saddening. Zimbabweans are just too loud. They complain too much because at some point, Zimbabwe used to be the 2nd most sophisticated economy in Africa, so the disappointment with the current trajectory is huge. You would also complain if you used to be 2nd, and now you are 17th or whatever the ranking is on lists like these.

This is HDI ranking, not how beautiful a country is. It is human development index. How developed the the masses are in any country. It takes into account, education, health, distributed wealth etc.
It is for this reason why almighty Nigeria is only slightly ahead of Rwanda in spite of the massive Nigeria wealth.
Also people equate Kigali to the country Rwanda. There is real poverty in rural Rwanda. To date only 57% of Rwanda have safe drinking water. Only 53% of Rwanda have access to electricity. The capital Kigali has developed well, but the country Rwanda is a poor one.
Namibia is by-far the best country in Africa, overall!
I have been to Morocco, Egypt, South Africa, Kenya, and Madagascar. Namibia is a place I want to visit next.

Malawi cannot be said to have moved up from 49 to 39. These statistics are highly disputed. It depends on which side of the argument you stand. Fir example, rural communities may not have electricity and water. But they grow their own organic food which is healthier than the developed who eat go foods These folks do nit need much money to leave their lives as most of their food is generally free. Chickens give meat and eggs. Cattle, goats etc., produce free mill meet, hides, etc. The list goes on. The animal waste fertilises the soil. The homes are rent free. There is much more benefit as the air quality is amazing. I can't even begin to compare these two lifestyles..

I'm surprised, given the desperate need for us to leave ecosystems in tact, that a country like DR Congo doesn't get points for poor roads that prevent the massive destruction of its forests. That said (and having grown up in this country), I feel strongly that its people are the most resourceful and ingenious in the world. Hopefully, the younger generation will work toward a good balance of sustainably while harvesting the country's bounty.
