The problem I have about these reviews, you're trying to compare all the specs and hardware to flagship devices. Why not talk from the point of view of a budget smartphone owner!? Maybe I should just set-up my own channel for these reviews!
I have it and it hasn't disappointed me, actually in some ways it's even better than Samsung S5. It has a sensor to light, so you can set your brightness to 0 and set it on Auto and when you go outside and it's sunny you don't need to change the brightness yourself because the phone does it for you just in a second. And when you set this command for Samsung it takes like 4-5 seconds to adapt to the amount of brightness. Also what Huawei P8 lite does is it sets a different signal light and vibration to a different app. For instance if it's Facebook the light is blue and if you've got a text from Messenger or someone else from your contacts the light is green, and for Snapchat the light is yellow. The Samsung does it too, but this is just a fun feature I wanted to mention. And about the vibrations. Everything has its own vibration length and style and when you hear it you can guess what app has 'texted' you. Maybe one minus it'd be the inside battery but that's okay because when the phone freezes you can click the volume button and the unlock button at the same time and it counts as rebooting like you'd take a battery off the phone and put it in again. The battery itself is okay, I get through the day with it. And I very often get a text saying that some of the apps are using too much energy so if you're not using it you can just turn it off. And that's how I get back from school with a 90-95 percent battery.
+Emilija B.B. wow thank you for your input with your P8 experience. I'm looking in to purchasing this smartphone soon and I think its worth its budget range
I was about to not get this phone but then you started talking kinda bad about the camera but on the video the camera looks pretty good? I feel as if you used too many super great androids and the instant you used a decent ok one, it didn't meet your standards and you got picky.
+TheAdebayoakinfenwa LOL if you wanna spend $500 + on a phone and wonder why creditors are calling threatening to break thumbs go for it. The rest of us will buy a phone we can AFFORD.
I have one problem. You complain about a 5inch screen being 720p. My 24 inch monitor is 1080p and I can't really count the pixles. My laptop in just a little over 720p and the same thing. I can bearly notice. Not to start beef I just think it's a little silly. And I know it will look better in 1080p but still it's not really that bad in 720p!
Just bought the P8 in Belgium for 157 Euros or about $170. I'm currently updating the software to the EMUI software. I'm anxious to see what is next. So far, I'm very happy with the phone. Especially for a budget phone.
Bought this phone last week, previous phone was an xperia z1. Extremely happy with the design, speed, battery life and camera, especially considering how little I paid for the phone. Heavy usage/gaming can dry up the battery life a little quickly than what I'd like, but overall can get me through more than a day and a half with messaging, calling and checking emails, internet browsing etc. Cheers Huawei you did good.
I got this phone 2 days ago in east EU for an equivalent to about 120 USD from a local provider with a gift fitness armband A1 and a sim card but no monthly subscription as a runout model. It plays any content flawlessly, most games run at 60fps, the only downside is the earplugs which are nearly useless but hey I still think it was a bargain and oh so happy with it. I literally want nothing more from a smartphone than what this can provide and I presume most people would be happy with it unless you are a hardcore mobile person which Im definitely not. A Samsung phone that has these specs would have been another 50-80 bucks more and for what? A different name on the bottom. With a 2 year subscription I could have gotten it for 35 bucks with a monthly fee of around 18 bucks but I opted not to do that. Show me another phone that compares to this for less srsly... in 2017 it is still awesome!
I bought this phone today from carphone warehouse for £110. Immediately I noticed the screen brightness was bad, even on full BUT all you need to do is download a brightness app and then the screen is perfect. I would definitely recommend this phone especially for the price
Seriously impressive phone, current UK version ships with lollipop, slap on Nova launcher and this handset is golden. Purchased after smashing the screen on my LG G3. This is equally as fast screen is still decent. Amazed how good the battery is, for £99 sim free you can't go wrong.
This phone is okay out of 10 I would rate it 7 as it stopped connecting to the internet for like 5 to 6 months it would not connect at all but over all it was okay. Good phone for people who just want a cheap phone.
I still have this phone. 4 years now, and after 3 years it started slowing down, battery started being bad after 3 year or more, now I have problem because my power button is broken and it started restarting so I am looking for a new one. But no other phone lasted this long, it could be used more but I want a new one. I love this phone, and I use it everyday, a lot so it can take a lot and would recommend
"This phone is intended for the US market..." That's funny, because I'm looking at a bundle offering it here in the Netherlands right now. Thank you very much for the solid review. Even budget phones seem to be quite good these days.
+Chango Kniesmeijer Vergelijkbare deal op hollandsnieuwe: 500 MB en belminuten voor 16 euro met toestel. Abonnementskosten worden verlaagd zodra de telefoon is afbetaald.
I miss this kind of shape.. I'm owning a Nova 3i now.. The bar shape feels comfortable in my hands. I used this phone to play music now and the battery is kinda drainy because its old now.. Maybe Huawei should keep this design for new models.
I'm very confused because some websites seem to say that with external storage you can add up to 128GB to the phone. The German store Saturn sells it like that. However, on other websites and sellers it says it can only support up 32GB. Does Huawei sell different storage capacities in the phone based on countries, or continents?
Guys, I'm watching this on my p8 lite, i searched for a budget phone with aa gppd camera so i bought this. its cheap and there's nothing to complain literalIy, I didn't expect the camera will be this good but damn, with that kind of price, it blew me off, it suits the price well!
Well reviewed Phil! One device caught my eyes, its Huawei Honor 4x. Can you give it a look? I would love to know about a $160 budget phone which is promising in Indian market. I am Nepali though. Give it a look, will you?
Nice review. I've been wondering which one is better - Samsung Galaxy J5 or Huawei P8 Lite? I'm looking for a good camera and a nice sound from the speakers. Thanks.
Well, I just bricked my Note 5..... went out and bought this until I can find a repair or get the Note 7 next week but I'm really impressed with this budget phone. Couple of negatives, the camera is quite low res, especially when viewing the photos later on a PC. Battery life is excellent, there is an FM radio!! (Yeah Samsung..... give consumers what they want). All in all, a cracking little phone that is snappy and light in the pocket.
How did you get 12 hours on 7%? I´ve got 12 hours on 70% and I´ve only activated two mail sync.... :( The moment I touch the phone and open an app the battery goes radically down
I think its antennas (LTE and WiFi) reception is good. Watching this from a P8 lite battery dead and constantly attached to the mains, trying to decide which phone to buy next in 2020.
I have this phone, It's just so great to use! It has all these cool features and stuff. Love this phone! if you are looking for a low budget phone, Think about getting this!
+Phayton Then maybe put it in the title. There are "only" about 190 other countries in the world except the US. The world does not spin around US and nobody cares what version it is in there, you know?
Here in Europe (belgium), the p8 lite already runs 5.0 lollipop out of the box. Strange huawei chose to not deliver it everywhere with 5.0 out of the box...
The problem I have about these reviews, you're trying to compare all the specs and hardware to flagship devices. Why not talk from the point of view of a budget smartphone owner!?
Maybe I should just set-up my own channel for these reviews!
+Samuel Douglas I find that very annoying myself.
I would subscribe to your channel
+Φώτης Νικολός I'm actually thinking about it, just need to get some decent tech in the new year and you might just be able to subscribe! :)

the camera is shit! go ahead and buy this phone. but when you do, know that you're a filthy poor peasant!
camera is fine when you update the software
+TheAdebayoakinfenwa not really lol. I'm just not gonna spend a shit ton on a smart phone
For me the camera is working just fine. Its focus is good and picture quality is great

I've had this phone for over 3 years and everyday I use this 4hours, still works
@Bas Bakker This thing is good when u first buy it,but after a year and a half or 2 years it starts to heat fast and get slow
@@mohammedomar5082 for me it doesnt heat but it's slow

Which phone is the best to buy: Huawei P8 lite, Samsung J7 or iPhone 5s?

is the graphics good in playing clash of clans? or lagging?
Which other phones could rival/beat this one for the same price point?
