@@AubreyJanik Gotcha, that makes total sense. I’ve watched a bunch of these lately, because… I’m considering getting a small used electric car for around $8k, have you thought about adding any EVs to your fleet? I rented a BMW i3 last summer in Coppell on Turo and have been thinking about it ever since then. I’m not expecting to start a full on fleet or anything, but kinda have it to play around with a cheap EV and help cover part of the costs. We have 2 other cars that we plan to keep, so we wouldn’t be at all dependent on the new addition for day-to-day.
Another GREAT, spot on video! My Avail cars’ one year anniversary is this week 10.23.21. Good experience, with slight exception. Damaged car is still not repaired after 7 weeks. First Getaround car got totaled. Getaround handled the claim fine but it took 6 weeks. Very passive and easy, but communication with Getaround isn’t great. Turo denied me using their service. Not idea why. I appealed and got denied again and they again wouldn’t let me know their reasons. Again, thanks for the great video.
I would just like to say your voice and cadence is so easy to absorb and listen to in comparison to so many other informative videos or videos, in general. I end up accidentally drowning out a lot of videos after 2 mins in and have to refocus bc they are just rapid-fire talking AT you instead of TO you. So many videos on youtube talk at you, not to you. Thank you for talking TO us!!
Hey I use hyrecar and had a great experience. The $2500 deductible isn’t the only option. You do have the option for $500 if you allow Hyrecar to take 30%. Also when it comes to racking up tickets (from what I’m seeing in the comments) you can transfer the liability of the tickets to the renter. So it’s not a terrible option, you just need to do more research or learn from someone who knows the ins and outs.
Hi Aubrey, thanks for the very informative videos! I am a new host and have a quick question, with your dozen turo cars, do you just put them all under your personal auto insurance? Or do you get a commercial insurance for your llc? Which insurance company do you use? Reason for my asking is so far the insurance company I called all said they won't underwrite my cars! Thanks in advance!
This is a year later so I hope you’ve found your answer since then and you don’t have it on your personal insurance policy! Your personal one will not cover rentals - car sharing/ride sharing. If you only have a handful of vehicles look into Lula. Or you can contact a car insurance agent about getting a fleet policy. Hope this helps for future people that read this 😊
Hi can you helps me get in the Turo business, I have car but I wondering if I should use my insurance or let let company give me their insurance? Not sure if you can help process
I was a host for hyrecar for my 2 cars, the renter used it for doordash for a week. Then one month later I received 3 parking violation tickets $160. Hyrecar claims department told me that I have to deal with the renter and they're not responsible for the ticket. there's no direct line for customer service everything is through email which takes 2-3 days to respond, I will never host in Hyrecar anymore, terrible experience with them

For the Avail platform: Do you have to actually have a flight in order to rent out your vehicle? Or could you just drop off your vehicle for a couple of days?
Remember when covid hit you had gave money to a person who had the best idea for a business? Well I must tell you that my friend switched from his successful air BNB to a long term rental business. His plan worked out better than he planed . He even hired me to Add a 4th room to rent onto his house. All 4 rooms are rented for 6mth rental at $659 to $825 a month . He has been booked sold for over a year now. With people paying in advance before anyone moves out. A waiting list of over 10 people

@@jmarko8720 if you look at the back of the ticket, there’s usually info on transferring the ticket. Most violation letters include a website to pay the ticket, so you can go directly to that website, and it should have info on transferring. You just need to provide proof that the car was being rented out at the time the violation occurred. This is what rental companies do too.
Turo charges the driver with out their knowledge. I was with them for years. That made me leave them and the bank they played all on. The only thing they had going for them was the no deposit. Thing about avail, no deposit, but the amounts of the car are the same if you went to a service with a deposit. Do you fleet Lyft and Uber? I got banned from turo after returning a car to a renter because the car was really beat up and the shifter straight up POPPED OUT The renter told me just drop off the car at their house. Hi Aubrey 👋. Thanks for the great content. I'm interested in getting started with 1 or 2 vehicles on the Turo platform. How many hours a week should I realistically expect to commit to the Turo platform? I'm in the Baltimore, Maryland/DMV area 🤔
If you do remote key exchanges (which I think is the best way to do Turo) realistically maybe an hour or two a week - sometimes more if there are issues, sometimes less if it's smooth sailing
I like it, but I wish the music at the end wasn’t 10x louder than the rest of the video.

30% purely for a marketplace is absurd. 15% imo which they take regardless is insane.
Very informed and appreciate them help starting my business
I like Getaround
Hyre car is big in Atlanta! And Turo
Aubrey really good was waiting for someone to do this thank you!

I use the 75/25 - it all depends on your risk tolerance but to me this is the best plan where the value add plus what you pay Turo has a nice balance
