    You are right. Going uphill for 4km on a dirt road full of twists and turns and the amazing scenery of the countryside is probabaly the best thing you could do on a summer day, every day.

      @@cooldawgbruh5410 the ammount of times i had to make split Second decisions to avoid eating asphalt. here in Brazil the terrain is really bad, and riding a bike with no suspension amplifies this becuse if you dont have technique you loose Control of the bike, then you need to make fast decisions to not fall

    Cycling is so much easier on my knees. I am happy I just cycled for 2 hours on my stationary bike today. But, I still miss running ...

    Because cycling is easier on the body doesn’t mean it’s a better sport than running, only because we have to overcome these mental and physical challenges as a runner, we becomes better

      Calm down. This is about hypertrophy. That means muscle growth “BIG LEGS” and if that’s you in that profile picture, I think we can agree that while running is goated, it’s not the best for “GROWING” legs. There’s a reason why you’re local neighborhood cycling vegan has bigger legs that Usain Bolt.

    I have to put a lot of effort into a bike ride to get the same effect from a run. My heart rate barley hits 160 on a ride. A run easily 180or190. I'm completely dead in cardiovascular health on a run vs a bike ride. I burn more calories in a run too. So idk if I believe what your saying...

    • @seniorAlfredo
      @seniorAlfredo 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Do you average over 40km/h on flat ground for 100km? Going on an easy slow ride with a bike is no problem. Running at a really slow pace is no problem for anyone reasonable fit either. Cycling is just as hard as running. I do both

    • @Jay-sd9ye
      @Jay-sd9ye 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @Raxi_ I'm more run focused lately. Running 35-40 miles a week.
      Cycle on off days. Each ride is 20-30 miles ish depending on time. Those rides my heart rate stays around 130-140. Anything over 140 and I'm putting in serious effort and my muscles hurt before I get my heart rate up.
      I run according to heart rate zones. So it's a lot easier to hold my threshold runs vs on a bike. Like today was a threshold run of 8 miles keeping heart rate above 165.
      Maybe I'm just not trained properly on a bike. I get my lower heart rate training from cycling.
      (Yes on flat ground for running and cycling)

    I like running better. Cycling is more or so for travel and destination. I cant really cycle to music, but i can run to the beat of the song. Cant really explain the feeling.
    Also depending on where you live and the amount of bikelanes accessible to you, is also a factor that makes it less enjoyable, youre not a CAR, so everyone on the road immediately hates you.

    I'm an enthusiastic cyclist, I do it 7 days a week and I can tell that cycling does not build muscle, and I noticed that now that I'm back do squats and deadlifts, I'm very weak in those exercises,... And I can cycle for hours...

      If you are cycling for hours at a time, you have very little to no resistance going on. You are basically riding a carousel.

      Try sprints. Sprinters have massive legs. Actually look at pro cyclists. Clearly, cycling builds muscle. Try a cycling program that really gets you pushing.

    You’re basically just saying cycling is easier. I’m a triathlete and love both cycling and running but you can’t beat running for being the purest, most absolute measure of fitness. You also get more bang for your buck from a time vs results/VO2 max perspective. Also as both are endurance sports neither is an effective way to build muscle mass so you can’t really cross compare on that basis.

  • @nemesis8626
    @nemesis8626 28 วันที่ผ่านมา

    This isnt true and is 100% dependant on how you are biking or running, shorts sprints are 100% better at building explosive strength, look at sprinters, they have some of the strongest most defined quads you can get

  • @derekjolly3680
    @derekjolly3680 หลายเดือนก่อน

    But if the "gym sessions" aren't a factor and it's bicycling or running, or possibly alternating both like I've been doing lately, with perhaps some calisthenics barbells , etc., would not the recovery aspect from running be quite a lot less important? For some of us the whole idea with outdoor exercise is to not have to pay for and go drive to a gym and have to see all the steroid-addled, muscle-headed weirdos in there!
