  • Join me in this video where I'll be painting one of my favourite holiday memories! A photo I took of The Tower Of Terror ride while exploring Disney's Hollywood Studios back in 2016! 👻
I'll be talking through my process of this painting and how I simplify a complex reference photo by making a cheat sheet on my iPad first!
I'm using watercolours, micron pigma pens, gel pens and a few coloured pencils in my Stillman & Birn sketchbook to create this little urban landscape!

Omg YES, I keep wanting to discard any sketchbook with a "ugly" painting even tho I want the satisfaction of a full sketchbook

😂😂 What even is the logic behind that?! We are funny creatures. I did a really ugly painting in my art creations sketchbook the other day and it made me feel some feelings. But I’ve done too much in there now to simply discard! I must fight the urge 😂💪🏻

Amber, this was another great video, I'm looking forward to the plein air painting. I also liked when you wiped off the col erase pencil, it kind of reminds me of a blurry background setting. I definitely need to try this out!☺

Thank you Liz! Very much appreciated 😁 The col-erase creates such a cool effect doesn’t it! I think it would be fun to do that and then add layers of coloured pencil on top.

Loved this Amber as you make it all so interesting and I learned some techniques. Loved the red background and the whole thing reminded me of the 1950s. 😊❤

I watched till the end with no skipping forward or anything! Your excitement and genuine interest is infectious! I should just get on with my own channel, but its the editing that kills me!! Anyway, just wanted to say thanks for the chat, and I can't wait to see and hear all about your hour on the beach. Oh also....I really liked the tower of terror painting when you did it, and I still think its great. Perspective pershmective, that's what I say!! xx

You know, you’re not the first person to say about my excitement and happiness with my art. I keep hearing it lately! 😄 Helen I honestly think you’re overthinking the editing. You can make it pretty easy to get started with while you’re learning! I would love to watch your videos, whatever they may be. It’s your personality that matters!
Thanks for watching 😘 I love my little tower of terror painting but you’re right, perspective pershmective. I’m not that bothered about it at all now. It’s more about the colour choices and energy in a painting! I’ll be painting a wobbly tower of terror next 🙊

“One bad painting.. like the shark”
Girl WHAT the shark was my favorite one 😮 I thought you showed it to us bc it’s so fucking cute

🤣🤣 You’re the best! Thank you! but I can’t get behind the shark 🥲 he needs a little rework I reckon! It’s the acrylic gouache. Hard stuff to learn!

Beautiful lively piece! So I have been swatching out all my markers. I have to have over like 200 probably way more of different brands. I started out with copics but found I couldn't use them because i thought i would be wasting them. And over time kept buying cheaper and cheape and it doesn't help that i love buying art supplies anyway. I found all these old copics that had lost a lot of their juice. So sad! So I am on a kick of just using my supplies! No matter how expensive or cheap. Trying to free myself up from that fear because the real waste is not trying them and exploring with them. I am also on a color theory kick. That is why I swatched out the markers. I did it in big squares and cut them out individual and I try figure out if colors are leaning more to the warmer or cooler sides. I try to figure out where they are on the greyscale in terms of value. And I also like to play mixing games of trying to mix colors I don't have with the paints I have. Its a fun learning process and swatching is always relaxing. Marco Bucci is excellent color theory teacher. His little 10 minute videos are filled with info. Sorry for the ramble!

Thank you so much for commenting! 😄 I also just love buying art supplies. I can’t help myself, I’ve never actually tried copics before I don’t think. I can’t justify the price of those. But then again I have spent a lot of money on a lot of other things. Like coloured pencils for instance. I have so many 🙊 Our art supplies want to be used! Isn’t it sad letting them just dry up or expire. Your swatching sounds fun! And a great way to learn what colours work well together. Glad to hear you are also on a kick of just using your supplies 😍 I wish you so much creative fun!

@Little_Ammy_Arts unless you plain on doing Realism with markers, the other brands are fine. Copic brush nibs needs are top of the line for blending easily.

I’ve heard that! They don’t fray like the other markers do is that right?

    • @LuvnKakashi
      @LuvnKakashi หลายเดือนก่อน

I haven't had to much fraying in my nibs but I also use the chisel side mostly. Slowly trying to loosen up all my work
