Do We Regret Moving To Nashville?

We recently left California and moved to Nashville, Tennessee. We are so happy to be here and closer to family, however, things have not all been great. There have been a few issues living here ,such as allergies, that might require us to move back to California. We give you a real look into our lives and how we are adjusting to Tennessee. From all the reading I am doing about allergies in Tennessee is, it is one of the worst states. Here’s the other thing I learned. Sometimes the allergies don’t become a problem until you have lived there for a year or two. We were thinking of retiring in Tennessee but I am having my doubts since I am prone to allergies. It usually triggers a migraine for me.
Hope everything worked out with your husband with his allergies in Tennessee. It sure looks like a beautiful place to live.

We are one of the worst places for allergies in the country. We have a lot of tree species and this is one of the main reasons for the bad allergies here. However, if you move here and start cutting down all of our trees in TN, we will lose our microclimate in eastern TN which supports an entire ecosystem in the Smokies and we will not stay as cool in the summer (if you think 90° feels hot in the humidity, just cut down all of the trees and you’ll get to experience how Houston Texas feels at 113° and humid).
If you move here (or anywhere) from somewhere out west, don’t build new houses. Find housing that is already built. People are building new houses in the mountains and they’re destroying our climate and environment here.
Apart from all of this, places can only support so many people. The more populated an area the greater risk of climate disaster from the ecological changes that happen due to landscape removal and change. The reason we have more water here is simple - we have less people. Keep it that way.
