Although not as user friendly as the equipment being built today, nothing compares in quality and durability that these older machines have. Glad to see theres people out there keeping these machines running. Keep up the good work!

These old 33's could sure move some dirt in the right material. They were a little slow in the cut as they took a longer stretch to get a full load . When the cushion hitches came in it made them a nicer machine to operate. Nice old rig you have there.

I have watched that man running the scraper, work on those machines, run those machines, respect those machines! I would love to meet him!

I operated an International one similar to this, not as large, they require finesse to get the grade even, it's usually finished off with a grader, I learned a lesson of tilt when emptying the load, you sometimes build a mountain, relocating the dirt to another area, building a hill for later use. When driving off your mound, often the vehicle will tip, locking it up, requires tilting the machine, something you resist doing for fear it will roll over, I was working in a corner lot, I wasn't able to drive straight, had to turn. It wasn't used often due to the areas we worked were rocky, you can't use them where there are rocks, damages the teeth, work for a dozier and track-hoe.

What I like about elevating scrapers is that is they are self loading. This one isn't being push loaded by a dozer. If you had this and some dozers, the dozers could clear land or rip rock and not be tied up push loading a scraper.

Simply put, scrapers are used to pick up dirt from point A and put it at point B. They are often used to strip topsoil before road construction. The scrapers go over where the road is going to go and pick up dirt. They then go to a dump site and pile the dirt high, out of the way. It is a faster way of doing it than using a dumptruck and a front end loader. I am not sure what they are building here though.

to "scrap" earth and alter elevations of a site. Usually for roads, parking lots ect.

An elevatorscraper doesn´t need one, because it has an elevator...;-)
