Matt, just in case you were not aware that the SML tenor has identical bore /tone hole size and neck length to the Conn New Wonder 1/2 series of the late twenties The only difference is that the conn has 28.3 mm tenon and the SML 28 mm . Perhaps that is why they both play similar . The bore is larger at the top than Selmer but smaller lower down. SML neck also has a slimmer initial taper up to the octave vent. Just found this out from a major rebuild of both here in sunny UK (march !!! )
+jon viol This would not surprise me- lots of folks copy Selmer now, but the original horn people copied was the New Wonder! If you'd care to share your measurements and methods, please feel free to email me.
Hi Matt,I've been waiting to find a neck from one of these horns for nearly 3 years..Any ideas where i can get one or can you source one for me??Love your work BTW...Cheers
Matt, great videos! I am watching them with great enthousiasm! Ive got a question though. I myself play on a Vito Beaugnier Tenor and it looks to me as if the keywork is almost identical to the SML D revision en SML Gold medal. Can you confirm this? Would be nice though if you could do a review on a later Beaugnier as well. ( Vito or Noblet ) cheers Jeroen
Never seen it on a King. For SMLs, same way you'd clean lacquer (for me, that is a gentle brush with lukewarm soapy water, I use "Sal's Suds" from Dr. Bronners), since there is often a thin & weak lacquer coating. Even if not, same way. It doesn't polish.
Among the best.

Strasser-Marigaux-Lemaire. I have an overview video for one of these horns, check my channel. Glad you dig it!
But gold doesn’t tarnish either!
But gold plate is very, very rarely 24k since that's so soft. It's usually an alloy, and it will tarnish, although slowly.
All that glitters is not gold, lol!
