Glad to hear you had a great time at Steamboat! We are skiing Kitzbühel in Austria now. Next week the Dolimiti SuperSki in Italy - totally loving the destinations on IKON Pass. Thanks for watching and commenting! Sincerely, James Duke
Great video Duke! Almost feel like I’ve been there already. Videos such as yours helps to familiarize with the lay of the land before I even step foot on the resort. Very helpful indeed. I am a 54 y/o that didn’t ski until I was 47. I have absolutely fallen in love with it. I have only been to Winter Park, CO but have taken 5 trips there. Looking to try another location and Steamboat Springs is more than likely my next destination. Again, nice job on the content.
Thank you for the kind words! I switched from snowboarding to skiing when I was 44. Many people ski into their 80s. Winter Park is one of the few ski resorts I have yet to visit in Colorado. Last year I fell in love with the Alps - check out our Zermatt video when you have time. Appreciate you watching and commenting! Sincerely, James Duke
Thank you! Appreciate you watching and commenting. I don’t think I did ski the headwall run. I was mostly skiing runs that had been groomed the days I was there and with the early season snowpack, very few runs were groomed compared to normal.
You need to ski later in the year many people take their ski vacations in December not a good month for snow. I strongly recommend to ski after the 14 of February for the best snow conditions. President's day is the best holiday to go skiing. Spring break you will have the most snow and some of the bigger storms do hit in March.
Thank you for commenting! I agree 100% with the advice you provide on getting the best snow conditions for much of North America and Europe - 2nd half of February and March are my favorite times.
Couldn’t tell from your video, but the trails all looked very similar, wide open and groomed. Did they have any mogul runs? How about some tree skiing? Was there any powder when you went? Did you show any black runs?
They do have tree skiing and mogul runs! I was there early season and the snowpack was still thin - all of North America got off to a pretty slow start this season. I just skied the groomers that were open.
I bet with good snowpack it would be more fun! It was pretty thin cover and icy when I skied it. It certainly is pretty steep for a blue run! Thanks for watching and commenting! Sincerely, James Duke
It looks more intense than it really is, when icy like duke rode it’s pretty sketty tho because the middle of the run is the steepest pitch and usually is where small mogels with ice under will build up
Hello, the daily lift tickets when we were there in December 2023 were $250. We skied it using IKON pass - so no charge. Our accommodation was our RV - travel trailer. The Steamboat KOA was $73 per night with full hookups, and the Steamboat shuttle bus picked us up at the campground and took us to the ski resort/town. Crowds were not bad when we were there - ski video is from a Sunday and Monday. I think skiing ahead of Christmas combined with low snow early season 2023-2024 contributed to lighter crowds. We didn’t eat in town or on the mountain. Let me know if there’s anything else I can help with. Appreciate you watching and commenting! Sincerely, James Duke
@@YouDecideIsItWorthIt Thx for your video . I have 360 also , love it. Got it few months ago , never ski with it , will be my first time this year but don’t know where to hook on .Not a good spot on top of helmet cuz can’t see yourself well and too scare to hold on hand and ski at same time😊
@@taniac3669 I have tried a lot of different mounts skiing. This is the one I have been using all of this season and it’s working great! www.amazon.com/dp/B08H5H69TN?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share I attach it to my ski pole, then screw on the standard invisible selfie stick and camera. I hold the invisible selfie stick and let the ski pole provide balance. Hope this helps!
@@YouDecideIsItWorthIt oh thanks so much . So you mounted camera directly with the mount , no invisible stick ? I have some thing like that , bicycle mount , Ulanzi brand . I tested while biking, the safe way is holding on camera also , cuz the vibrations and moving on roads , loosen up the crews easily . That the great idea , i ll try on baby slopes first. We ll ski at Steamboat Springs for our first time there also , that’s why I was looking on youtube and I found you . Did you have the lens protectors on the camera? I read about it and don’t like the idea of loosing quality of footages. Your video is very clear . I love the 360 in the water with the case , still get stitching lines once in a while depending on sun rays and angle holding, but overall, such a great toy.
@@taniac3669I have the mount attached near ski pole handle, then invisible selfie stick attached to mount, and then the camera to invisible selfie stick. I do not use the lens covers. So far no scratches to lens, but someday it will happen…
Thanks for the recommendations. The runs I skied at Steamboat were the only ones groomed while I was there because of the lack of early season snow. Sincerely, James Duke
Great Skiing footage. Enjoyed the video as it covers the entire mountian. Good Job James.
Thank you. Good times in Steamboat Springs, Colorado!

How about some information about on cost, crowd, food, accommodations…

Steamboat is great! Every out of state skier should go there.

awesome, i know you are holding 360 , but hardly see it
