We always use Jaggery for tea. No sugar. need to boil everything along with jaggery before adding milk 🥛.

villages in Maharashtra people don't use sugar in tea they know it's not healthy so they use jaggery that's why they are healthy👍🏻
That's not the reason. Many decades back sugar was not easy available. That's when people started using jaggery. Not because of health reason but, availability.
Earlier, people would not talk about health as junk was hardly available. They walked for long hours, worked hard so they didn't need to do anything extra.
Not only maharastra but even in many part of Uttarakhand and UP people still consume gud chai.
