Or Emma and Grace, which are also "old-timey" sounding names. Many people today have grandmothers with those names, and it appears that in the future many will as well. I'm a Gen Y-er but I know a Gen X woman who named her youngest daughter Emma Grace (Emma as a first name and Grace as a middle name.) And my mother (who is a late-end Baby Boomer) has two middle names, after both her grandmothers (my great grandmothers); one of those middle names is Emily.
Luckily for me, my grandchildren will probably misspell my name as my parents decided to give me an uncommon spelling of a name that was fine as it was!
I believe Mary is affiliated with religion and as religion falls out of fashion so does the name, just like the media stars only media stars fall faster.
My grandmother was born in 1932 and named Betty (the second most popular name of that year!). She’s sick right now and probably will not survive the next week and a half until her 88th birthday. She’s gone through a lot in her lifetime and still has love to give to all of her children and grandchildren. She’s strong and tenacious and has the brightest blue eyes. She’s kind to everyone and has made it through so much more than I can ever hope to. Even though she’s endured congestive heart failure, hip replacements, the deaths of her husband and son, and much, _much_ more, she’s always been there for me. I love you, Nana.

Also it seems that some variant of Catharine is widely used as a middle name - at least four of my acquaintances are named Ava Kathryn or something similar.
One thing I noticed that wasn't pointed out in the facts was the fact that the Wizard of Oz (book) was published in 1900 and the musical came out in 1902 and within 10 years "Dorothy" becomes the #3 name in the country and stays in the top 3 for the next 20 years.
That's a good point. We'll have to include that in the 2014 update version in May! It can replace the fact about the Hershey bars, because who needs chocolate when you can have Dorothies?
One of the most interesting things that I see is the diversification that seems to really kick off in the early 90s. All the bubbles just start shrinking and multiplying.
