I’m on day 10. The hardest part so far is being patient! I just want to be able to learn everything at once and start a new career path in this field!! I wish I would’ve found this 13 years ago but at 31 I feel like I still have enough time to make a fun, and rewarding career out of this!! Channels like this are really helping me immerse myself in all things data science related right now so I can absorb everything I can!
I'm 58 (since yesterday)! I do have some programming and statistics experience luckily (ancient though, does anyone still use Pascal much now?) At 31 you have plenty of time. I think Kens video on how to learn is a good start - especially the bit about projects. Learn what is enough for now. I hope I don't misrepresent him, but this is what I got from that video... 1. Learn Python 2. Use Kaggle - do projects - even if you start by following other peoples projects first. 3. Learn enough statistics, but you don’t have to have masses of it - little by little, especially as you NEED it. (Great advice, it’s how most scientists I know did it!) 4. Find out what sort of skills are required for your own interests: SQL may be important, visualisation or something else. Think about your goals as you learn - what do you NEED to learn. 5. Learn good habits! (That’s where other people and books can be very helpful).
Starting a new job as Data Scientist on 4th of january. Looks like a good challenge to review what I have learned and hammer it into my mind to hopefully not to get fired :-D.
For anyone looking for courses I HIGHLY recommend the University of Michigan's applied data science course. Would work great in tandem with the 66 days of data if you want to do both. I recently finished the third course in the curriculum.
As a last year student at a master's degree in Data Science, i can absolutely confirm that it is actually hard to keep up the momentum and specially remembering all the things you have learned so far, since there are tons of things!!

@Syl Verr Thanks! The most important thing about the first iteration was that it showed me what basic skills I am missing. I kinda tried to start with a project but in the end mostly did courses on Dataquest. The 2nd time I will try to first acquire the remaining needed skills and try to end out with the project. But probably will take me more than 66 days because I have exams in the first 30 days (but some things are also DS related that I have to study). So TLDR to your question: I will look more clearly at what skills I need to acquire and not just jump into it.

Ken, can you please suggest the best and advanced projects one must have done for data analyst campus placements or internships...if he/she has decided their role in the corporate world i.e (Analyst)? (So that their resume is out of the crowd based on projects.)
In terms of projects, for a data analyst it is more about diversity of tools and quantity than it is about how "advanced it is". I recommend starting a tableau public and do the weekly makover mondays!

I can quite comfortably use machine learning Python libraries (numpy, pandas, seaborn, sklearn, etc) and have done some projects on my own. But after trying some coding interview questions on prep sites (Algoexpert, LeetCode), I feel a bit defeated. I want to hear from you if those coding interview questions are designed specifically to test software engineer candidates and what level of expertise in programming is required/expected from data analyst/scientist candidates vs. software engineers?

You will not likely see something as difficult as most leetcode questions for a data science interview!
