I just want to say that Eleanor acknowledging that us Autistic people are far more likely to be the victims of violent crime rather than the perpetrators, in some way means so much. But yeah again autism arent violent just it can take note there and not an excuses to kill someone but just something people should know how autistic person live their life.
Ironically it was people bullying me for my Asperger's that made me act violent. At the time, I didn't know that I had it (neither did they, I was just perceived as a freak for being different). So a lack of understanding, led to a lack of coping mechanisms. Then in my young adult years, I was so tired of being bullied, I'd lash out if anyone said anything. The sad thing is.. I realise now, that my behaviour further perpetuated the negative stigma towards us autistic people. @Catboy Jin True. But what about the bullying? It doesn't sound like they did much about that. And if the parents aren't really doing anything and the kid is getting worse, they could have called the parents to come to school for a talk, report them for possible neglect etc. It seems like he was just really failed by the adults around him.
@Catboy Jin It's also very difficult for a school to get on top of persistent bullying, I went through it for a few years and eventually had to move schools after countless meetings and interventions from the staff and parents. I'm 33 now so hopefully the support system is better now, but yeah it's a sad truth, not much parents and staff can do without escalating things or getting in really early.

THANK YOU, I'm so tired of people claiming that they're "crazy" cause they binged true crime. I'm actually quite similar to this killer [in terms of mental illness] and I also hyperfixate on murderers very close to the extent that he did (besides collecting things due to money, I also only write abt what I think their motive was and why) and I HATE when people act like listening to true crime a little more than usual means "OMG I MUST BE A CRAZY PSYCHO KILLER." In fact, I hate when people act like liking something even a little means it's a hyperfixation. Like, no Jan, I'm autistic and have intrusive thoughts every time I hold a sharp, I'm not your quirky edgy tiktok eboy-boyfriend who wears chains and all black. People without mental illness try way too hard to look like they do, meanwhile the mentally ill wish we were as ignorantly unburdened as they are.

I went to the same school as James fairweather, he was in the year below me when he committed his murders, he told teachers and helpers in the school he wanted to commit a massacre at the school and he had apparently cut holes into his blazer to be able to keep his knife when he was at school! sooo scary
I'm very sorry, it must be traumatizing to know that a serial killer who was feared by almost everyone in the area and beyond went to the same school as you. Obviously, it put you all in so much danger and I can't imagine just how terrified everyone was when they finally figured out that he went to your school.
I'm autistic who's got a special interest in true crime, and i just cannot IMAGINE doing this. I also immediately clocked him as autistic, really upsetting that was missed his whole life, but i can relate. I also suffer from psychosis, SOMEONE shouldve paid more attention to him. Idk this case really shook me up, i feel understanding, but what he did was so terrible that i dont care that much at the same time
My older brother also has psychosis and autism, when he’s aggressive / violent to us , I know he’s not in his right frame of mind, but when he comes down from the flurry of emotions he’s very visibly guilty and he’s very emotional and remorseful, this guy showed no remorse and knew to dispose of anything that made him look guilty, then he went and did it again, and then he went looking for a third victim. He’s definitely using his mental illness as an escape goat and I think it’s very very pathetic, he’s giving people who actually go through serious mental health episodes a bad name. I’m glad he got life with a minimum of 27 years
@@aryaslay715 Like how some people joke about having a 'gaydar' we autistics can sometimes just Tell. For me a few things that stuck out was just the way he dressed (like what you would call a stereotypical 'nerd' with the buzz cut and the thick glasses), the bullying--kids on the spectrum tend to be bullied, and the special interests. Also the way he processed his bullying; I remember when I was younger I coped with my ostracization by feeding some very dark thoughts of mine, and like him I also bullied other kids just to fit into a clique. I feel lucky I outgrew that phase and got into a much better place socially and mentally and I suppose this is where our paths diverged. I feel bad for him but there's no excuse for murder and it's obvious there was much more going on for him in the background than there was for me.

the way Eleanor discusses his autism makes me very relieved. a lot of people like to paint any neurodivergency other than 'quirky adhd!' to be scary and monstrous so it's certainly a sensitive topic especially when discussing a murder case, I think this was really well done :)
ADHDers get it too. I literally had to leave a parenting group for moms who either have adhd or who have kids with it after a NT said that ADHDers get angry over even the little things and NTs can calmly teach kids. Then the admins decided my response was the issue because i said fuck and threatened to ban me while not adressing the ableism. We're painted as angry, irrational, and impulsive. Also the "quirky ADHD" only harms ADHDers, it's just another form of ableism.
@@als2480 i totally get that and it is horrible! but the associations and stereotypes that come with autism are typically a lot more severe and lead to autistic people facing even harsher discrimination and predudice, one of these stereotypes being that we are all murderous/emotionless monsters/psychopathic

Eleanor is so pretty that even I didn't speak english I would never guess she's talking about murder. I showed this video to my friend who doesn't speak english and asked her what she thinks Eleanor is talking about and she said "she's beautiful so probably something beautiful".
Yeah thats what i was thinking. Like she said his bullies would go up to him and tell him to go punch that kid. And he did that because he didnt want the consequences of not doing it and maybe being punched or worse himself. And he as you said internalized his bullies and those voices of the bullies became the voices in his head that escalated. It is interesting that he was so worried about control but then ended up listening to voices in his head where he was not in control but the voices were. Or maybe he thought that listening to the voices was him controlling the voices as he was in control of them not punishing him same w the bullies. Idk it's an odd thing quite a kunumdrum or a paradox
Also the first experience with death mixed to it, i suppose with undiagnosed autism he might as well see death as some sort of similar punishment as the bullying. So he wanted to be the stronger one in this case, not like in the school, Where he wasn’t. It’s just a thought
When we grow up with undiagnosed autism when everyone holds us to neurotypical standards, we end up forced with nothing else to do but to mask and copy those we trust represent the "real world". So since those bullies played a major role in his life at the time of bullying, and being autistic he mustve always had this gut knowing that he was like "out of place" or "wrong" it means he wouldve had nothing else but to see the bullies as justified in their tormenting him for being different because he knew he "wrongfully" was - which means he will try to become one of them in order to be a functioning member of society as they're what had power and influence and mustve been right, because why wouldnt someone else be when ur autistic n dont know it n the entire world is made for ppl different than u. I think it was masking that became internalised once he found serial killers as a special interest, and combined w other mental issues the voices def seem like a stand in or extension of the bullies roles, just fused with the serial killer fixation and a bit of detachment from the real life implications and severity, because you gotta detach urself from the reality of life itself when yo unsupported autistic. I grew up undiagnosed and I did some fucked up shit just in detached exploration as a kid. Ofc not on this level tho
Thank you for doing this story, I'm from Colchester and Jim Attfields murder happened right across the street from me, I remember leaving the house in the morning and there was police tape and forensic teams everywhere, it was honestly traumatising how random and violent these murders were. Honestly did his parents not notice his changing behavior? The growing violence, growing obsession for serial killers, or his school behavior worsening? They could of gotten him at least help and prevented some of his actions. Edit: Hello! I didn’t think this would get so much debate. Many replies are saying “ maybe the parents thought it was a phase “ or “ they didn’t take it this seriously. “ This kid had knifes in his room and wrote entries about serial killers and the parents just thought this was a phase? They didn’t think like “ Oh maybe I should look into this. This is concerning. “ ( Btw if they didn’t notice these things then they really didn’t pay attention to this kid. Seriously. ) They didn’t take a second out of their day to sit down and talk to him. Also “ they didn’t take it seriously and thought not much of it “ I honestly am in disbelief if they didn’t take his behavior seriously. Any parent would be concerned with the actions and behavior he was displaying. K that’s the end of my little ramble : )
i mean given his mom just ASSUMED he was sleeping and couldnt have left the house at any point shows that no.. they probably werent really paying much attention to what he was doing.

Teachers and staff are probably seeing this bulling happening, taking no action or accountability, and then have the AUDACITY to write to the child’s parents “your child is a thug, sort them out please” when a lot of the time they’re also victims. If they had any sense of duty to their students, or bothered to step in and do their jobs a lot of cases like this could probably be prevented. This cycle needs to end.

Kid: Gets brutally bullied, brings knives to school, openly talks about murder
Teachers: *I will pretend I didn't see that*
@Catboy Jin True.
I'm 33 now so hopefully the support system is better now, but yeah it's a sad truth, not much parents and staff can do without escalating things or getting in really early.

when she says, "unhealthy obsession", she didn't mean binge watching all of her videos. It only becomes unhealthy if you are idolizing the killers and/or trying to follow what they did in they're murder, or if it is getting in the way of your health or daily life. Just so you know, don't worry. As long as you aren't doing any of those things then you'll be fine. Now if you are,, uh,, get some help maybe- :D

I’m glad he got life with a minimum of 27 years
How did you clock him as autistic? Sorry im just curious

@@katieshaw9593 why is her comment so hard to believe? Lol
its almost as if he internalised the bullies, it went from them telling him to punch people to him hearing them telling him to murder people.
Maybe he wasn't even hearing voices too but tbh i think the whole control thing and bullies telling him what to do idk its a weird thing

They didn’t think like “ Oh maybe I should look into this. This is concerning. “ ( Btw if they didn’t notice these things then they really didn’t pay attention to this kid. Seriously. )

@@Ash-np4to I understand what you're saying, but the degree of his obsession was significantly more than the average person interested in true crime. One of the creepiest things to me is that he doesn't look like a killer, imo. Like, in his first one or two pics, he looks like a typical millennial/gen z kid. You can't see the evil in his eyes.
Yh... its so weird to think someone so average looking could be capable of murder. You really have to be careful these days
I don’t think there were voices in his head with how he kept saying his dream career was “murderer”.
Demons were talking to him..
I went on a date today and we were talking about murder and he jokingly said he was gonna and I was like that's chill as long as Eleanor makes a video on it and now she has uploaded. I feel like I spoke it into existence
Thought about running? 😂
GIRL RUN-
i was in a similar situation and i was like “hopefully i get a Lifetime documentary about my life out of it”
How'd you go on a date in lock down?
@@RealityEscapeeItIsMe you can have a socially distanced date
That clip of him at the police station standing up and mimicking that quick knife stab is going to haunt me. Holy crap.
I really enjoy watching this beautiful young lady from England! She has a great way of telling these murder stories!
Keep up the good work! Tks !
Genuine question: why do you always call the titles different from part 1s? It always confuses me 😢
I love how you respect the victims and tell their story
So funny you mentioned his ASD diagnosis at the end. That's the first thing that popped in my head when you talked about his obsession with serial killers and watching the same documentaries over and over again.
I was diagnosed with ASD 19 and can definitely agree that it sucks to have such a late diagnosis
literally had nightmares about this guy last night.
(hugs you)
same but i’m still gonna finish part 2😂
Ohhh how the columbine school shooting documentary w/ basement tapes screwed my 10 year old brain upppp
@@moonmaster8588 (hugs you)
@@origamipein18 thank you I got over those night mares quickly but damn it was horrible
Eleanor has been giving us so much consistency and quality content and I’m here for it!!!
I've had the worst weekend ever and it's so nice to just lean back and listen to you 🥺
Today just couldn't get any better now, Eleanor's uploads are peak highlight of any day
this dude: i wanna be a murderer so ill be famous like the other murderers
me and probably a lot of other people: never even heard of you before
As someone with autism & adhd, I have so much respect for Eleanor for doing her research on the correct terms
I'll leave part one up in the "eye"
Haha - sorry
lol
Lmao be my friend I need you-
in her last video (part 1) she also said "keep an eye out for part 2" and i just had to chuckle at that choice of wording.
Very funny 🙄
