Doctors found two pulmonary embolisms in my lungs so I had to stop taking birth control. It's been six days since and they have not prepared me for anything and couldn't answer some of my questions, so thank you for this video!
I got on birth control when I was 14, and it helped clear up cystic back acne and calm my raging teen hormones. Now I’m 20, and I’m worried the problems I had will come back, but at the same time those problems could’ve gotten better with age. I really hope it’s the latter.
I’ve been thinking of coming off the pill for a few months now. Just finished my pack and I’m not going back! I found a “birth control cleanse” at my local vitamin store I think I’m also going to try out. My periods have always been ridiculously heavy and random. The first one I ever had I was 13. It lasted for two weeks and then I didn’t get another one for 6 months. I got on bc when I was 18, went off when I was 20 because I lost my insurance, and went back on it before I turned 21. Thanks for this informative video, this is the best one I’ve seen on the matter and I definitely subscribed!
'cleanses' and supplements claming to 'balance your hormones' are a gimmick and a waste of money. your doctor will likely tell you you don't need to do anything when you get off the pill
I had really bad cycles before. They were irregular and very painful, I even got diagnosed with dysmenorrhea. I am scared to get off of birth control but I want to! I just don’t want the pain, dehydration and missed days to come back
I stopped taking the pill 3 months ago and had very mild symptoms until the last week or so. I've noticed hormonal acne on my cheeks and jawline. I also haven't had a period yet. I've read a prenatal vitamin could help get the gut back into balance. Would this be a good thing to try?
I started birth control due to heavy cycles. But lately I’ve been thinking of having my fourth baby. I’ve missed a few pills throughout the years and noticed that I bleed after about 2-3 days. We are also trying to have multiples if possible. We were recommended to start clomid and Serophene to help fulfill our wishes.
Hey I have a question. Knowing that I am blind and I’m still trying to find answers and my fiancé she’s blind to. She just started taking the birth control pills yesterday August 17 What would happen is she drops a pill and loose it? Is that going to mess up the cycles and in weeks? Does she have to take whatever is available for the next day or skip it or watt ? The other question. She’s from Puerto Rico I am from Pennsylvania. And you know how we have those daylight saving stuff but that is not the case in Puerto Rico. She started taking the pills at 9 PM Puerto Rico time and that is the same time here in Pennsylvania. But when she comes on January it’s going to be 8 o’clock from Pennsylvania because it’s going to be one hour behind . Let’s suppose that she wants to keep the 9:00 PM. Can she change the time on the last seven pills that don’t have hormones? Meaning after the last pill starting the new cycle again 21 days question So It can change to 9 PM from Pennsylvania? And is that going to mess up anything or no? Question number three. She’s taking a pill called. Tribura . And I’m not so sure if they have that pill over here. But let’s suppose that they don’t have it. If she needs to take a different brand similar to that one? Is that going to mess up her system or is she going to get nauseous again? Or is it gonna be bad for her body? That is my worryNess. Let me know if you are able to answer me. Remember I am blind. And she was thinking about taking pills for two years at least because we are long distance and after we get married. They recommend that at least we have 2 years to get to know each other better and she gets comfortable over here. Before having a baby. Thank you so much.
Finished my pack and stopped cold Turkey thereafter. It’s been 5 days and the only issue I’ve been experiencing is EXTREME fatigue. To the point where it’s affecting my day to day life. Might consider going back on it for this reason. Idk. It’s bad. 😫
I stopped my birth control because of the spotting on and off. It’s with every pill or shot I had (I had enough of that) so now three days later I’m experiencing heavy bleeding. How long should that last?
I have decided to get off the pill. My i finished the white pills and im indecisive in wether to take the placebo/sugar pills since it does not have hormones. I know you said to finish the pack but i dont get why i should take the placebo pills? Please help.
Hi Jillian, yes this can occur due to a hormonal imbalance. Many lifestyle factors and specific supplements can help rebalance your hormones but it's best to work with a practitioner who specializes in this to help guide you.
So I’ve been off the pill for 2 weeks now after using it for over 6 years for hormonal acne and PMS. I’m experiencing headaches almost every single day and am not sure if this is normal. Any advice?
Hey! Thanks so much for the video! Is it normal to not have a regular period after stopping? I've been on bc pills for about 8 years. However, I recently stopped in March and haven't had a cycle since.
Hi Kyla, your welcome! So the general rule is if you go without a period for greater than 3 months it's important to have an evaluation with some lab tests since this indicates a hormonal imbalance. So having blood work and the DUTCH test could be super helpful for you to see what hormones are off and how to best address it.
Hi! Thank you so much for making this video. I never had acne as a teenager before starting the pill, I only went on it for pregnancy prevention. If I quit (been on for 6 years) will I still experience a surge in breakouts? Or is there a chance it won't be as bad & my skin will go back to its baseline (not acne-prone)?
I’ve been on the patch for 2 years and I’ve noticed a serious depression and anxiety incline from what I’ve had before which was light depression and barely anxiety, do you think the patch could *possibly* increase depression and anxiety in certain people?? I do see a psychiatrist as well but I’m Not super educated on birth control side affects with mental illness.
Hi there, ugh I'm so sorry to hear this. While depression and anxiety can be from many things from hormonal imbalances, gut imbalances, and situational, medication such as birth control can absolutely cause it as well. It's best to discuss this with your provider who is prescribing the patch and discuss other options.
Hey there! Thanks for your video! Just wanted to ask you if it's okay to stop the pill now that I'm on the 2nd pill of the new blister (I still have my period, it's day 4 so very light. I thought I was gonna do it next month but I think my body is really asking me to coming off of it right now. What do you reckon? Will my cycle continue?
I got off the pill for 2 months now. I got a decent period during my first month off the pill, it was a slightly heavy flow with a mild to moderate Dysmenorrhea. Now is my second month and I am just having brown spotting for 5 days now.. very light with accompanying minor crams and twinges in my boobies, a mild low back pain and minor leg cramps that all come and go. Is it a possible side effect of getting of the pill or?
Can I come off the pill in the middle of the pack? I’m on the first week but decided I didn’t want to take it anymore so is it okay to stop right away??
Hi Carla, irregular bleeding can definitely happen after stopping birth control. Always check in with your practitioner as this is meant for educational purposes only.
I am only eating twice a day no carbs/sugar with clean keto to reduce the amount of time that I spike my insulin. If you eat all day 3 meals with snack then it will cause way more insulin spikes which is not healthy. Please look into this for your followers it is very important to mention.
Hi Danielle, thanks for sharing your experience. When eating the right kinds of whole foods insulin will be stable throughout the day even when eating more frequently and it is very healthy 😊 but it’s important to do what feels good in your body.
Came off 4 months had severe side affects and had to go back but I’m still not back to “normal”. Mood swings , low energy, heavy and painful longgggg period. Would it ever regulate??? 🙏🙏 ( first month back )
I stopped taking the pill 3 weeks ago and right after I stopped I started having itchy skin, all over my dekolleté, shoulders and back. I don't have any allergies and also didn't change any of my eating habits. Could this possibly be connected to coming off the pill? Did anyone had similar experiences? 🤔

1) food intake
2) get stress in check
Thank you very much

Wait 3 months your hormones are regulating
Give it time for them to regulate

I have the exact same experiences. What I do would use herbs that are used to help cramping and heavy bleeding.
I didn't consult my doctor. I just stopped taking it. I will never use birth control again.
Thank you for sharing.
Any side effects?
I have decided to get off the pill. My i finished the white pills and im indecisive in wether to take the placebo/sugar pills since it does not have hormones. I know you said to finish the pack but i dont get why i should take the placebo pills? Please help.
Hi Raidelin, you don’t need to take the sugar pills.
Wondering if it’s common to feel nauseous after stopping birth control ? I recently stopped a couple of weeks ago after taking for 12 years. Thanks !
Hi Jillian, yes this can occur due to a hormonal imbalance. Many lifestyle factors and specific supplements can help rebalance your hormones but it's best to work with a practitioner who specializes in this to help guide you.
I'm currently experiencing lots of nausea after stopping my pill. I hope yours has improved!
Same here with headaches, dizziness, and nausea after IUD removal.
So I’ve been off the pill for 2 weeks now after using it for over 6 years for hormonal acne and PMS. I’m experiencing headaches almost every single day and am not sure if this is normal. Any advice?
Apparently its normal for 3 months until your hormones balance.how long did it take for the headaches to finally go away?
Hey! Thanks so much for the video! Is it normal to not have a regular period after stopping? I've been on bc pills for about 8 years. However, I recently stopped in March and haven't had a cycle since.

Great video!
3) finish off bc routine
4) exercise
What if you only took the pills for two days and you want to stop because it’s making you feel sick ? Will it cause spotting ?
Hi Monica, it may but should not be for more than a day or two if you just started.
What about feeling dizzy lightheaded nauseous low blood pressure

Hi there, it is OK to stop it however unscheduled bleeding may occur. It's always best to check in with your prescriber as well.

Hi Carla, irregular bleeding can definitely happen after stopping birth control. Always check in with your practitioner as this is meant for educational purposes only.
Hey Carla, I am experiencing the same symptoms, is your period regular now ?
@@dhanishagarg no I don't get my period Regular
Is it normal to not have your period for a few months , after getting off the pill? It’s been 3 months and I still have not received my period!

Hi Rafael, while breastfeeding spotting can occur. It's best to check in with your provider on your specific situation to have an evaluation.

What do you mean had to go back, you tried quitting but it was unbearable so went back on the pill right?
is pregnancy still possible when abstinence from sex after stopping pills
Curious, your last name is Tikhonov, should it be Tikhonova for female? I love your channel btw.
Hi Lizzie, hah yes that is the traditional way. Thank you!

Hi there, that is unusual and best discussed with your provider.
Interesting enough, i have seen this same kind of comment in and under several videos about getting off bc, so there must be something to it.
Also birth control is known to affect liver function. Issues with the liver can lead to skin issues. Most of the videos and articles i have read about coming off of bc takin about doing a liver detox, maybe you should consider that
