It’s a dang shame the manufacturing of Filson has been outsourced. I won’t pay “Made in America” prices for made overseas products, esp since quality has dropped. Bring manufacturing back to America for all your Tin cloth and wool products.
The 'US Heritage' and EU heritage have been f'ed up by capitalism's wish for maximised profit. This is exactly what is a shame in the current Filson philosophy and of many other manufacturers of any kind of good. The globalist idea of exploitation abroad for the sake of corporate gains is the result of weak politics. You can blame the politics for enabling the export of labour, but you can blame all companies for their financial greed by selling at the premium price nevertheless. I hope the tide will turn tho.
I live in Seattle, Washington USA and I am a Fan of Filson Products. Originated in Seattle in 1897 for the purpose to outfit the Miners, Loggers, and Prospectors to protect them from the harsh Artic environment of Alaska. Alaska is known as the 'Last Frontier' in the American History. Seattle was the last stop before Alaska and Filson has been the 'Original Alaska Outfitter' for the past 125 years. Filson Products are Lifetime guaranteed and have repair stations in their Flagship Stores. I hope to collect and invest in Limited/Special Edition Filson Products in the future. "Might as well have the Best!" Thank you for the Share!
There is the history and the present, the present is much less honest and beautiful than their promotional videos, their product is now made in Bangladesh or Sri Lanka etc... The prices are higher and higher, look for the error the materials travel three times around the earth before arriving on your ass Filson has taken the turn of always more and even more, in a few years, they will look like other brands, not responsible. sorry for the translation :)
Started wearing Filson in the 80s still have their stuff and wear it most every day. Definitely watched the price go up and some quality go down over the years... overall i believe most people will enjoy the products if they spend the money 💰 🤑
I love Filson, I start to buy it since it was union made but now days you guys produce every where in the world and unfortunately the quality is changing 😉😢 I still think that you guys are the best keep items old fashion 😎🇺🇸 ciao cesare 🇮🇹
@@MythDealerthe new "Mackinaw" wool is coming from overseas and is thinner, ligher, and cheaper feeling than the original. Just saw one in person yesterday. The quality isn't there anymore
I have collected and bought Filson for most of my adult life. I still wear jackets I bought when I was in my twenty! I have many products that where made in USA! I have even bought from your custom shop over the years! Now,,, the new stuff is JUNK and you know it! You are now taking advantage of your customers! You have sold us all out! Just like Levi! You now sell crap that doesn't last, doesn't fit correctly! You guys should be ashamed of what you have done to Filson, Period!
Way to over priced honestly tho filson is the best made clothing I've ever seen it's literally my favorite I'm looking at filson all year around but only buy something from them once or twice a year but it's the wool and the tin cloth that might be worth the money but then again it's really expensive tho
@@thepatternforms859 went to my local clothing store yesterday and the filson cruisers are now "made in the usa of imported materials." The wool is not the same as it used to be. Its much lighter, much thinner, and feels like recycled wool instead of true virgin. They had "older" (year or two old) cruisers that were 100% made in the usa next to it that you could compare the new one to. Night and day difference. The quality has gone down the tubes with filson and the price is still astronomical

Funny how much changes in a year. More and more made overseas.

Quality unchanged maybe even better
Being American is history now that you make your clothes in far east.
only 20% products are made in USA now. and way too over price.
Too bad they sold out and up tier prices wile going overseas. I have their USA made vest.
The Mackinaw vest is still made in America, tho it really does not matter where its made good quality is good quality.

Great quality but your sizing is horrible for tall fit people. I tried many times and nothing seems working for a 190LB 6ft4 fit person.
Great product, I happen to own several coats made by Filson! Overpriced, hard to put a dollar value on quality of this caliber!
🖤✊🙏
Filson, an overpriced American corporate brand.
It overpriced. These jackets will outlive you easily
