Absolutely fascinating! I wonder if there are any other spots on our marble where the ISS is closest to a point on Earth than anywhere else. Why so many satellites? Is it because someone decided the best place to have a space junkyard was there because it will never be inhabited? Or it’s a good place to hide something? 🤷🏻♀️ I need answers! 😂 …. Me, “Hey Alexa……” 😂
I mean, if you need to crash something into the Earth, kind of makes sense to pick the most remote place we have. Wouldn't want someone to get crushed by a satellite, let alone *gasp* cause property damage
This isn't the only point that has no one single closet piece of land... It's just the one that is as far as possible from all the points it's closest too
To add to what you comment on... I just checked in Wikipedia, Point Nemo is an ocean pole of inaccessibility. It means that its closest distance to land is the furthest than the same for any other oceanic location. It just happens that for Point Nemo, there are three closest lands. So, that's another inaccuracy of the video. To summarise: 1. There is only one oceanic pole of inaccessibility: Point Nemo. 2. There happens to be 3 closest lands for Point Nemo. 3. "No single closest land" is not an accurate description because it suggests Point Nemo is the same distance to land in any direction. That is not correct.
@@yoavboaz1078 Could you please explain more? The closest distance to land from an oceanic location could be just at one coastal location, couldn't it? There might be something I don't understand.
I would like to see this space adjusted to include uninhabited islands. Like the furthest point from land that has people living on it. Cause there are totally random uninhabited reef islands that ruin where this point could be.

Not really, because it is only for satellite or space station as I know. And as I remember, 90 - 80 percent of rockets body already dump in to ocean when the rockets is trying to reach space

Umm..way less than that. Minutes. If it's that cold. You'll drown before the hypothermia really gets you. You'll lose all feeling in your limbs, as your body tries to retain heat in the core. You won't be able to move, so you'll just sink to the bottom.

You assert Point Nemo is the worst place to fall overboard. Really? Once you are too far to swim to a beach where someone can rescue you, distance is not important. So, any isolated location where the water is zero degrees would be worse. Drake Passage would be the very worst, because it is cold and has the worst weather.

If you somehow ended up stranded there, you’re cooked.
No wonder why we cant find mimo
