Nice! I play this one. In the nursing homes, I teach them the chorus so they can join in. I play it in C, capoed up one fret, so I’m a 1/2 step below where you are. Also, I finger pick it… I’d rather strum, like you are, but I’m not particularly good at strumming. Also… did you change the lyrics on purpose? From ‘get yourself a honey’ to ‘taste of honey’. I suppose in a way it might be considered more respectful.
Yes. I got the idea for the lyric change for a local VT based folk group, Woods Tea Company. A little less suggestive for a broader audience. I’ll try finger picking it. Thanks!

I like Patti Casey too! I love her version of the Star of the County Down. Miss the original guys too.
