Yes, I do like it and it does look very legible. I have the positive model but I've never seen one in the negative version up close. I have an 800 (a less expensive Casio) and I can't read the smaller characters. Thanks for sharing. Great video.
I've had my gd 350-1b for about 4 years now. I agree it has the best negative display because of the size of the numbers & gold color. Another thing that sets this watch apart is its the only g shock model with the direct access countdown timer button . as far as I know it's the only g shock that has it. Another thing I like is G shocks have a trimmer adjustment cap on the inside of the watch that you can speed up or slow down the watch. If you turn it counter clockwise you can speed up the watch. I took mine from just out of the box from loosing 1 second every day to gaining 1 second every. 7 days. I really wish Casio would add atomic time and solar to this watch. And make other models with the direct access timer button. It's my most favorite g shock . so great job on the review.
@@AndyinSG what is the special features of the 5500 line ? I know the 5600 the 5610 and the new watch I think is beautiful is the new GMWB 5000 TCF-2. It's the new titanium 5000 with the laser patterned blue camo .but it's $1700 us .
Clay B. I would think of the 5500 as the underrated model. Not as popular as the 5600, yet still a very cool watch that has a seemingly slimmer profile and that “integrated strap” look. The 350 wins on display (especially the negative version), but can be a tad too bulky, and therefore less versatile.
Me too I'm now saving every penny until I can afford the mud master with baramoeter and compass, altemeter, think its£325 and still got a way to possibly in a couple years :)
One of my favorites in my collection. The characters catch the light so well its almost as if they're glowing. The back light is excellent on this model as well

Josiah Yeo Hello bro, good to see a fellow SG kaki. Thanks for the kind words man. Just glad that I’m not doing a monologue.:) And of course, enjoy the new purchase!
Nice review, this is a very useful Gshock. I use this for tasks when I'm in a hurry and need to complete tasks, with the reassurance my wrist will alert me when time's up. I prefer a square as a regular beater, but this is a close second, even when cycling and you can't hear beepers, you feel your alert whether it's a countdown or hourly vibration.
I recently just got a GB6900AA and from what I can tell the negative display is very similar to that of your GD-350, by colorway and the contrast! Despite the smaller display (it is a square G-shock anyway) you just cant deny how legible the GB6900 is even at viewing angles where most other squares lack thereof. And you can't forget the vibe alarm too -- Cheers from Indonesia!
A solar version, with atomic and maybe a temperature sensor would be a amazing. I wish Casio would do more versions of vibe. You can pay lots of money for Master of G, but there's no vibe alarm on these expensive models, even Rangeman or MTG
@@freeatlast1963 I disagree. Every solar powered casio I've seen with an inverted display is a LOT less legible than the GD350. And 5+ years on 1 battery is not so bad. I owned a rangeman and I don't know what the use is of a temperature sensor as you can't tell the temperature while wearing the watch (temperature readings are significantly influenced by your body heat).
I doubt a GD350 would last anywhere near 5yrs if vibe alarms & countdown/hourly vibe was used everyday. I read a comment in a review before, along the lines of rationing the functions to preserve battery life. There's a percentage of buyers, who won't touch a Gshock unless it's solar. Atomic and Bluetooth I can live without. As for temp sensor. I think you can calibrate the temp sensor, you'll know more than me, I've never used Rangeman etc. A solar Gshock with temp sensor & vibe is a combination that appeals to me.
@@freeatlast1963 Vibration may be too much for a solar watch to handle...i don't think one exists. I thought i read 5 years was with regular vibe use (maybe even daily). Without vibe it's more like 8-10 years.
Great review, thank you. I usually don't like negative displays but this one is awesome. I wish you had shown the backlight. Does it light up the entire screen and for how long? Thanks again!
Hi Ken, thanks for dropping by. Great suggestion from you. I should show the backlight in future videos. As for the backlight on this, I think mine is set at 3secs. It’s not the blue EL light like the 6900 or 5600, but it is like a LeD white light.
@@AndyinSG that's very assuring to hear. I ride a bike so legibility is my priority. My issue with typical Casio digital watch is they're harder to read at a glance while riding.
Does the G-shock GD-350 watch have an internal switch that allows you to fine-tune its precision? I had already seen on some forum (I don't remember which one) that there is a key for this purpose. Could you tell me how to access this key? Hugs,
@Ata Berk Keskin Yes. It is one of the most sturdy G-Shock watches. They have wings to keep it in place and the screen is very tough. I have been using mine several years with no issues at all.
Watch Kaki, great video!! Just hope you could answer a question, What size wrist do you have? I'm trying to see if this watch would be ok or too big for me. So If you could tell what wrist size you have I could make a more educated guess. I think it looks good on you, but if my wrist is smaller than yours, maybe I should look at other model G-Shock. Thanks in advance and best regards
Jorge H. Olguín G. Hi Jorge, thanks for dropping by. My wrist is about 17cm, that’s around 6.8inch. I would say the flanges make this watch very wearable. Certainly less strap gap than many other G-Shocks. Hope you join the team soon.
Hi sir.. Just seen ur vid.. Im also curious about this old model.. Have u ever compared this gd 350 digit size to gls 8900 digit size, sir? I own gls 8900 1bdr negative display.. I think the digit size also quite big but never compared my gls to any other gshocks.. Do u think the digit on this gd350 negative display has better brightness/contrass than other gshocks negative display?
Thanks for dropping by. Well, I don’t own the 8900 so it’s unlikely I can do the comparison. But I don’t think any other model apart from the newer style M-something LCD has a bigger digit than the 350.
Thanks for dropping by. The older watches have “vibrator” printed on the bezel. I guess people got offended by the word and Casio changed the print to “vibe alarm” for later batches. They are the same watch.
I got this watch now, and while the negative display is really excellent, the flanges/wings on the strap are a big minus. Not only do they not support the fit on the wrist; they are actually sweat magnets! I would not recommend using this watch in summer season at all! But in cold dark winters it will keep your wrists warm. ^^ Also this is a G-Shock for really big men with big wrists (18+ cm). Beanpoles and midgets need not apply.
Interesting observations. I thought the flanges help smaller wristed people to get a better fit. It sure works that way for me. Shame on the strap though. It’s a very basic plastic strap. This model deserves an upgrade.

seems a bit too big for wearing. you are using big as the only criteria for best, that is limiting.
The main point of this video is to find which is the best negative display budget G. I would think bigger digits are a big factor.
A $100 watch is not a "budget watch." I consider a "budget watch" to be one under $50.

Well, I would think it’s a lot smaller than many G-Shocks. Still a very manageable size.
This watch compared to the Huge XXL G-Shock’s of today, is a great size and it would be more like a large! It wears well!
Casio’s negative displays are terrible compared to other manufacturers, such as Garmin and Suunto.
