Keep watching more episodes, I remember one of these old episodes they explain what we see as contradiction between their revealing clothes and their purity values. I can't recall what it was but they do separate the the two. It's quite interesting
The clothes that they wear are inappropriate to some but not to them, they are doing no harm... Everyone is different and they have different ways of life, same as labelling people all the same! Just because you don't like it... Look away if it's a problem or find out why they dress that way..

I feel sorry for the travelers that don’t deserve the discrimination. Unfortunately the percentage that do cause the problems, (and the fights, and the damage) ruin it for the rest of them. You can’t blame the venue owners for not wanting to take the risk of property damage that will not be paid for because the travelers move on without a forwarding address. The bottom line is that the percentage of travelers that do cause problems is too high for the venue owners to take the chance. It’s sad.
Girl you are so right nobody deserves discrimination, at the same time then don't turn around and be racist yourself and kick people out of being a traveler when they start dating and then marrying a black person and then proceed to call that person the N word quite often. Then act like a bunch of jackasses in wonder why people don't want them at their venues. Though the reasons that they give the venue's give the Travelers are lame and at least be honest if you don't want them there just say it you know?
Agreed. A friend of mine was a venue manager and the bar license holder - they accidentally booked a traveller wedding, and while the locals, whom she knew and saw regularly, were fine, the blow-ins from out of town were not. Doors were pulled off the place, mirrors and basins smashed in the toilets and she ended up being punched in the face by an out-of-towner when she wouldn't serve him because he was already so drunk. It was an insurance nightmare - cost loads to repair the damage - and it ruined the good relationship they'd had with the local travellers. As always, it's the minority who create trouble that ruin it for the whole community.
Because they don't want to have to deal with damages, fights and everything which make the other venues owners to deny them any service. There's a good reason why a business owner refuse clients which are ready to spend that much, and it's mostly because of the troubles.
I love this show and find it fascinating because their lives are so vastly different from my own. And I respect Angel for staying in school in continuing her education. Yes queen! 💅🏼✨
I know ..there's not too many I haven't seen. I can't get enough of them. I've watched this one a thousand times. But yeah I get it ...you gotta be pretty pleased to find one you never saw before. Makes for a better day ...
I noticed in every episode it seems these young girls always say "I'm so happy" with a completely dead and vacant look in their eyes. It's... Scary right?
Our local park was decimated after a traveller was on a rape charge and loads of people came to show support. I saw adult men, shitting on the grass. I saw kids trying to burn the trees. There's a reason people are reluctant to have them in close proximity.
I used to work in a restaurant in a city where we always have a large group of travellers coming threw every year. The girls and families were always a joy to serve…our security frequently had to escort the groups of lads out…make of that what you will
Well they rip off people promising to do manual jobs and not show up but expect payment ahead of the job getting done and people are afraid of what they will do damage wise if they don’t pay up they are low life’s untrustworthy people all of them
I've watched so many Gypsy wedding videos, their dresses actually look normal to me now. In fact I think if I ever get married, I want a big dress too.. maybe not as big but definitely more extravagant because it's less boring looking.
That's part ofnwhat they're like, and the reason why people get so worked up by them. They look like normal Europeans but behave outrageously. So it's a free card to go after them, which many people do. Almost everyone in the UK hate them, sadly. Always evicted. It's even worse with Roma gypsies in continental Europe.
I know this is a US thing- not sure about the UK- but here there is a set of regulations that say if you miss x number of days a term you fail- and if you fail out you can't go to prom or graduate on stage. Prom privileges here can be revoked under truancy laws.
Have mercy throwing a temper tantrum because you may not get your way. The rules were in place from the start and everyone but Casa was made to abide by them. smh.
i HATED this guy. he never says please or anything just demands his wife to do shit. “put a kettle on” “bring me some food” “get me some bread” i would have hit me over the head with a cast iron myself as well.
Maybe they should take a lesson from the Amish and have there own schools. The children can concentrate on education and not harassment and prejudice. I find the way they’re treated just awful
The only issue is where would the teachers come from? They won’t sit for the country teachers and most of them aren’t college educated. I’d love to see them all educated and doing well, but they’ve got to want it for themselves. To be fair this series is a decade old so unless you interact with them directly you don’t really know.
As a 13 year old Irish traveller girl who lives in the uk I can say that yes in the decade the show hasn’t been airing the number of travellers and Gypsy’s that get a proper education has increased ALOT and as for being treated poorly shut your mouth because you know nothing about my ethnicity and just because you watched a video doesn’t mean you do hun 🙄
Agreed. I truly believe if they stepped up education it would do wonderful things for their gypsy community. Especially for the girls.. Getting a diploma never hurt anyone's future.
They’re treated according to how they act. They think they’re superior & don’t have to abide by the laws of the land. Ask your local council for FOI about how much it costs each year to clean up after them? Not a single sheckle to they put in the tax pot. And before anyone has a meltdown, I come from a travelling family - a real one- not tinkers or minx but a real travelling community taking shows /carnival to a town near you. These are just Irish minx.
They.. for real.. made her bring them food? Didn't think to bring some? You must have room somewhere for it. ...couldn't find a McDonalds anywhere? I seriously hope that was only done for the show. It has to be the stupidest thing I've ever seen. The trip is going to take you 2 weeks. Will she keep driving the meals to you everyday? I'm just beside myself trying to figure this out.
Any rowdy groups get locked out, here in Aus we have 'schoolies' 18 year old school leavers make a pilgrimage to the gold coast and central coast to party hardy. A lot of motels/ accommodation deny them and close to them cause they cause damage and trouble. Its not just the gypsy's its rowdy groups in general.
If people are being ask to leave from an hotel because of noise then it is their fault. just as they pay to stay so are other guesses, why not be quiet, I was at an hotel and a group was thrown out they were not Gypsys nor blacks; they were just drunk who were extremely noisy These girls should tell her family this situation is their fault not the hotel's
I can see why people do get the wrong idea about travellers when people see them pulling up on parks and car parks we have seen rubbish dumped trashing the grounds, thefts going up I’m not saying this about all of them but by us they do have the police called on them especially when they pull on places where they shouldn’t, the one asking the questions about non gypsies at 16 year old just thinking about having sex and drinking what an absolute stupid thing to say 🙄
My friend teaches at a school where gypsies attend. It's by the seaside. They won't go to school until a taxi is sent to pick them up at the Taxpayers expense. The home schooling Tutor is also paid for by the Taxpayer.
The constant repeat of the prejudice makes me wonder. The bride is 17 but is gonna be drinking on her wedding day. The risk the hotel could lose their license???

Good for Angel! It has to be difficult to be so young and have to deal with not only your own communit looking down on you for trying to continue your education, but doing so while being called derogatory names at school where you are trying to learn.
If there is a reputation about Gypsy's then it is up to THEM to change the rep. Gypsy's would NEVER treat their property (Caravans) they way to treat a hotel room. THAT is the reason hotels, venues, pubs do not want to cater to them. Its going to take some time, but its up tho the Gypsy's to change other peoples minds by good deeds, actions. Maybe some community "exchange" festival or something????
That sounds like the most bigoted response to any group of people discriminated against. "If I have a bad impression of your entire race, it's your job to change MY mind" wooooow, entitlement much??
The fact that they automatically thought that the chicken wire being put in place had something to do with them is very telling. I love getting to see the pomp & circumstance of it all. BUT, when u see how horrible they view being gay, it really puts into perspective how badly it must suck to be LGBTQ+ or different at all in the Gypsy community.😥

What I don’t understand is where do the children sleep in those caravans? There’s a lounge one end of the caravan and a bedroom with a double bed the other end.
I don't doubt that there are people who have and will continue to discriminate against them but they also need to take into account that in some cases the reason for them being outcast or shunned or asked to keep away is their reputation as well as the reputation of others from their clan even if those others are strangers to them. It's a messy situation but it's what will continue to happen because of how messy their ideologues are under the guise of "culture" 🙄. Says the one who is Sexualising 4 year old children. A normal person would see a 4 year old in a dress and think it’s cute but apparently not u..
Keep watching more episodes, I remember one of these old episodes they explain what we see as contradiction between their revealing clothes and their purity values.
I can't recall what it was but they do separate the the two. It's quite interesting
Well that, and they get married at 16. I mean, staying a virgin until 16 isn't that much of an accomplishment, is it?
The clothes that they wear are inappropriate to some but not to them, they are doing no harm... Everyone is different and they have different ways of life, same as labelling people all the same! Just because you don't like it... Look away if it's a problem or find out why they dress that way..
@@nikki7735I get what your saying but that's why these boys want marry because of the raging hormones. I'm sure they parents know thsts how their girls get chosen.bthey barely know 1 another do why else would these young boys propose. Then once they marry and with a bunch of kids the men are having gf and the wives are to accept it
I feel sorry for the travelers that don’t deserve the discrimination. It’s sad.
It's so sad how 95% of gypsies give the 5% of decent gypsies a bad name..
@@lesliebrooks2817 Exactly
@@lesliebrooks2817😅😅😅
I’ve always wondered why they don’t build their own venues for weddings and baptisms and other events but only rent them out to Travelers
Because they’re travelers, they’re always on the move
That's a GREAT IDEA!
@@vivianalvarez6360 Not all of them are. Many of them live in permanent residences
Great idea. Then there would not be any problems for them. They could keep everything secret. They seem to be quite well off. Good luck to them.
Because they don't want to have to deal with damages, fights and everything which make the other venues owners to deny them any service. There's a good reason why a business owner refuse clients which are ready to spend that much, and it's mostly because of the troubles.
Glad to see I'm not the only one obsessed with watching these!❤
I’m here with you girl 💌

They get shut away cuz of how they have no respect to others, damage property and act like a fool
Theft is pretty big - they don’t like people that aren’t their kind either so…?? Don’t feel bad
I love this show and find it fascinating because their lives are so vastly different from my own. And I respect Angel for staying in school in continuing her education. Yes queen! 💅🏼✨

That's what I thought too!

Traditions are like that. Think of it like Catholics. They wouldn't expect a mint instead of a communion wafer, would they? 😂
The way those dresses are crafted… breathtaking. I’m a seamstress… and I would drop everything in a heartbeat to learn from and work for Thelma.
I’ve been sewing as a hobby for almost 40 years, and I agree-Thelma’s skill level is astounding.
Miss girl doing her washing up with bleach and putting vinegar in peoples tea? A chaotic icon.
I noticed in every episode it seems these young girls always say "I'm so happy" with a completely dead and vacant look in their eyes. It's... Scary right?

The man grabbing that girls hair as she walks by! 😞
Our local park was decimated after a traveller was on a rape charge and loads of people came to show support. I saw adult men, shitting on the grass. I saw kids trying to burn the trees. There's a reason people are reluctant to have them in close proximity.
Poor Violet made them all lunch and the gratitude…
I used to work in a restaurant in a city where we always have a large group of travellers coming threw every year. The girls and families were always a joy to serve…our security frequently had to escort the groups of lads out…make of that what you will

I've watched so many Gypsy wedding videos, their dresses actually look normal to me now. In fact I think if I ever get married, I want a big dress too.. maybe not as big but definitely more extravagant because it's less boring looking.
YESSSSS 100%
What they call "diamond's' are just rhinestones! And of course disney princess dresses are their favorite! THEY ARE KIDS
Thelma always seems so nice and respectful to the travelers. It was irritating to see her treated that way.
Imaging feeling entitled to go to prom when you refuse to go to school. How are you not embarrassed?!
3 times a month 😭
My mother OR father would’ve been in jail week 3-4
Yes, but 6 GCSEs with not going much is nothing to sneeze at. As was said, there are students who attend regularly that don't even get 5, so...
I know this is a US thing- not sure about the UK- but here there is a set of regulations that say if you miss x number of days a term you fail- and if you fail out you can't go to prom or graduate on stage. Prom privileges here can be revoked under truancy laws.
uhmm... did a guy just pull a random girl by the hair to make her stop walking? (30:06) that is so disrespectful....

Yeah, because they're still literal children half of the time.

Have mercy throwing a temper tantrum because you may not get your way. The rules were in place from the start and everyone but Casa was made to abide by them. smh.
Always looking forward for my Gypsy Wedding Sundays 👏🏻

Lol, John will need his wife's womanly touch.
Here's my womanly touch boy, Cast Iron Skillet on his noodle.

I would hit myself if I got married to that.
Not a please or thank you to his wife
They don’t seem to believe in investing in formal education.
Them boys was drinking beer like they was grown men
Their well known behavior gets them shunned
Imagine if they saw a REAL diamond.
They.. for real.. made her bring them food? Didn't think to bring some? You must have room somewhere for it. ...couldn't find a McDonalds anywhere?
I seriously hope that was only done for the show. It has to be the stupidest thing I've ever seen. The trip is going to take you 2 weeks. Will she keep driving the meals to you everyday?
I'm just beside myself trying to figure this out.
It said it's only a couple of hours drive but 2 weeks with the horses so it wasn't that far for her to drive she just got lost on the way there
i love these combinations of different episodes!! best reality show ever!!
Omg...so much kitsch, glitter, and fake tans😂😂😂😂😂 the double standards and stubborn willingness to avoid change will be their undoing.
My school here in Ireland is banned from having the school formal in many hotels for the same reason.
It’s not the same thing. Gypsies and Travellers face systematic oppression and discrimination. They are turned away from a lot of places.
Thelma and her team are incredible! Each dress is they create is perfection
If people are being ask to leave from an hotel because of noise then it is their fault. just as they pay to stay so are other guesses, why not be quiet, I was at an hotel and a group was thrown out they were not Gypsys nor blacks; they were just drunk who were extremely noisy
These girls should tell her family this situation is their fault not the hotel's
Why do these people think they experience "racism"? Maybe predudices, yes, but not racism.
I don't know why I am so obsessed with these, but okay ig!! I need more full episodes, I have watched almost all of them alreadyyy!
Elizabeth is making me so sad for her! Poor thing. 😢
"What do you need qualifications for" 😂🤦🏻♀️ wouldn't expect anything else to come out their mouth
I mean I understand the need to be secretive at the same time don't complain about racism and then be a racist yourself

An Easter surprise lol Ty for the upload!!!
My friend teaches at a school where gypsies attend. It's by the seaside. They won't go to school until a taxi is sent to pick them up at the Taxpayers expense. The home schooling Tutor is also paid for by the Taxpayer.
That's in their parents then
The constant repeat of the prejudice makes me wonder. The bride is 17 but is gonna be drinking on her wedding day. The risk the hotel could lose their license???
the way my mouth dropped open when she just straight up said the n word💀

Good for Angel! It has to be difficult to be so young and have to deal with not only your own communit looking down on you for trying to continue your education, but doing so while being called derogatory names at school where you are trying to learn.
Yess gypsies on Easter thank you.Happy Easter everyone 🐰🐣🐰🐣
If there is a reputation about Gypsy's then it is up to THEM to change the rep. Gypsy's would NEVER treat their property (Caravans) they way to treat a hotel room. THAT is the reason hotels, venues, pubs do not want to cater to them. Its going to take some time, but its up tho the Gypsy's to change other peoples minds by good deeds, actions. Maybe some community "exchange" festival or something????
They're not given a chance to, are they? And our Traveller patients leave their room spotless. No issues at all.
That sounds like the most bigoted response to any group of people discriminated against.
"If I have a bad impression of your entire race, it's your job to change MY mind" wooooow, entitlement much??
Why is there not a traveller owned or run venue? Seems it would be extremely lucrative.
Because they refuse to pay taxes. Thats the whole point of why they dont settle down. They dont believe in paying for houses like everyone else
Someone else mention this and it sounds like a GENIUS business idea!!
They don’t want to 💩 where they eat.
Its the same law with Alcohol in the U.S. bars. It has to be consumed within the bar, it cannot be taken outside or "to go."
The fact that they automatically thought that the chicken wire being put in place had something to do with them is very telling.
EDIT ~> I had to delete and rewrite my comment a few times to have it grammatically correctly get my point across the right way. That is exactly why you stay in school boys and girls.
I love getting to see the pomp & circumstance of it all. BUT, when u see how horrible they view being gay, it really puts into perspective how badly it must suck to be LGBTQ+ or different at all in the Gypsy community.😥
I’m from a Romany (mothers side) and Traveller (fathers side) family, and I can hand on heart say those of us in the GTR community completely accept LBGTQI+ more than ever now. My husband (who’s a gadjie/gorja) has a very good mate who is a traveller and is gay, has a partner the lot and we as well as his family accept him and his partner with open hearts and minds x
I have two friends that are travelers but they got kicked out of their caravan when their family found out they were lgbt.
I’m so excited to see the gypsy men protest peacefully on their behalf and rights to show the world that they are not bad people and that they just want to be treated with dignity and respect I can totally relate with them I just love them as a people

Maybe she got done over too many times by the scummy ones like the first who lied about the date costing her thousands in travelling & hotel expenses…
Nope! She made my sisters holy communion dress in 2017 and I wore it to,she still creates dresses but not as much because a.travellers go to more recently famous dress makers and b.Thelma broke her arm in 2018 I think and it hasn’t been right since

I feel bad for the people who have to endure anyone from this show because they victimize themselves and then they ruin connections with those who want to deal with them.
What I don’t understand is where do the children sleep in those caravans? There’s a lounge one end of the caravan and a bedroom with a double bed the other end.
No idea but in one episode they were giving a bath to a child in a pink bucket
The sofas fold out i to beds they said in another episode
I feel sorry for them all. I hope they all watch these video's back & realize what they are doing is so wrong.
Some aspects of culture need to be forgotten, sometimes there's nothing wrong with that honestly 🤷🏽♀️.
