Thank you so much for this series of tutorials. I'm getting back into sewing after a long time away and these tutorials have been endlessly helpful!

Very useful explanation. Thank you. It seems to be a good mechanical machine when getting back to sewing and learning to sew better without a "distraction" of all computerized features. How does this machine compare to Janome Easy Jeans?

    This is a wonderful tutorial!
When you talk about the spool holder, you mention that some spools of thread don't like to be horizontal. How would I know which ones should be vertical?

typically any spools that are round wound should be vertical while crosswound ones can be horizontal. stack wound spools are spools where the thread is wound up and down the spool from top to bottom like a bobbin. where as crosswound spools have sort of a crosshatch pattern in the thread on the spool and are only wrapped fully around a couple times top to bottom. Best I could say would be to look at some google images of crosswound vs stack wound spools. =)

Great video! I grabbed some twin needles for doing a hem. Can a standard presser foot be used with them on this machine? Or does it designate a different presser foot? Thanks!

Yes, you can use the standard presser foot. Just ensure you turn the handwheel manually a couple times to check clearance of the needles if you are using any kind of sig zag to ensure the needles won't run into the foot or the needle plate.
