Mattias, one of the things I appreciate about your videos is having the right amount of safety for your projects. You are not doing safety things for no apparent reason, but are protecting yourself from foreseeable threats. Thanks for sharing.
Matthias, When you going to get your own TV show? You are 1000% better then anything I ever saw Bob V. or Norm even TALK about. I'd sure be a "fanatic" Fan. You"re the best, Bro.
If you made one more of the stiles and ripped it in half, you'd have a jig that would hold the slats in exactly the right alignment to insert them into the stiles. -jcr
Hello I think you just huge. I am a registered subscriber of your movies and I always admire your work better. I Ooms deal more wood engraving Than carpentry. But even carpentry close to my heart. The pantograph I would first thousand vessels. Thanks for all your movies Kramer Israe
Totally see where you are coming from. In Germany, people just have smooth melamine on their kitchen doors. Mine are raised panel, and I curse even that detail every time I spill something off the counter!
I really like your videos. Such carefull filming and editing. You are one of the most enjoyable TH-camrs out there. It really is fun to watch your videos (and not to have to do all the work ;-) )
as the old saying goes, "practice makes perfect". I left school with no qualifications and got a coopers (oak barrel maker) apprenticeship, 25 years later I am teaching apprentices and make furniture for myself and family. learn by doing, most def.
People have added tilting tables to it. Personally, I need that so rarely, that I figure I can just make a wedge and clamp it on the table for when I need it. and if the table is non-adjustable, it can't be misadjusted the rest of the time. Think of tilting your table saw by half a degree, and only noticing it isn't square after cutting up a lot of wood.
Here in North Carolina we call them hurricane shutters because you close them to protect your windows from flying debris during a hurricane. The louvers provide reasonable protection to your windows, are lighter weight, are easier to repair (assuming they're built with that in mind), and look decent (important since they are usually permanently mounted on hinges beside the window).
This is awesome! I just built the quick set tenon jig, which is awesome! I wonder if you were to create another rail, and band saw off the top, if you could use it for aligning the slats into the other rail? This would look like a skewed comb, or finger board.
I saw a few movies and I really enjoyed have much to learn I work with wood as a hobby myself and hope to have time to build some devices you build Thank you for sharing this interesting informayion
To aid slipping the final blinds into the opposing piece, I was thinking you could place a measured spacer on the table raising them to the right height. Another great video
Matthias, I'm a big fan. You do a great job of making videos as well as making things. I understand there are several lessons to learn in the building of the shutter you did. I am a little curious however why you chose to make fixed slats rather than ones with posts into the styles so that the louvres could be opened and closed. You could still use the router and the drafting software but end up with a better product and it should actually be easier to route and put together. Regards, Ray
Nope. Though the pantorouter could be used for that as well - for making the dowel ends on the slats. And it could also be used for making a series of holes with a plunge bit.
Very fine job. Now you can put some cardboard behind it and fix the whole thing into the kitchen's wall, in order to put incoming mail in the slots. An idea I've seen somewhere else.
I enjoyed the zoom at the end of this video, that's the first one I've noticed you to use. Your video production skills are quite admirable for TH-cam DIYmedia by the way, probably the best I've seen actually. The only facet that needs any improvement is your dialogue recording at those times when you've stepped away from the camera. It has gotten better, I'll give you that. What microphone are you using, sounds like your depending on your camera mounted mic most times Sound guy Subscriber
They could have a variety of purposes. The most useful, in my opinion, would be to block out sunlight and provide privacy while having the window open for air flow.
Dear Sir I am very impressed with this group of sections and I hope that will help me in the completion of these works. And I will be very grateful that you sent me, I can Create schemes which own my tools. I hope that allows me with the aid of your information. Thank you sir
I think if you cut and file two of the templates at once, then file a tiny bit more off the second one, you could make a guide for inserting the shutters by plunging the router bit fully through a slimmer rail.
@Matthias Wandel may I make a suggestion? specifically for that project you just did, why not, on one side, make the slots deeper, so you can turn it over, and just put every single one in, so you don't have to work so tricky? they're glued to finalize the project anyway, and nobody can see the empty space left behind.
I build cabinets for a living, and I wish I had your pantorouter. Louvered doors are a pain in the bahookie and assembling them with glue and coped rails is no easy task.
Hello Matthias Wandel. My name is Luis Miguel Hernández. I live in Guadalajara Jalisco Mexico. I like you pant router with wooden base. You are a specialist in the area of woodworking, you have much knowledge of how to do it and how excellent techniques achieve the finished product. I admire your work, you are for me a great master of carpentry, and you are my model to be followed, I being a Carpenter apprentice. I can count on your support as a teacher to be able to make my own router pantograph project. You could send me a diagram, to follow the process of manufacture it, to manufacture the slot with perfection. Language is no obstacle to recognize all the experience, knowledge and potential that you characterize as a great master of this beautiful profession of carpentry.
i like all of your videos and you're an excellent engineer...but only if they were in spanish, although i don't know what you're saying about what you're doing.
Every once in a while, a bona fide genius comes along and sets a whole new standard for an industry. You sir, are that man.
Mattias, one of the things I appreciate about your videos is having the right amount of safety for your projects. You are not doing safety things for no apparent reason, but are protecting yourself from foreseeable threats. Thanks for sharing.
Experience is the greatest teacher. Book learning only improves reading skills.
I saw the pictures you posted on your site. The quality looks second to none. Great work!
Even the filming and editing is superb.. Amazing

You"re the best, Bro.
What do you think this is? :)
I get the impression Matthias doesn't play well with others. TH-cam is the perfect fit for him.
Yes, i Am agree!
Mattias you are the best of the word. Your works are incredible. I am surprised.
Once again awesome project!! I like the shed and all the tours videos you did but is awesome to see you back in the shop again.
If you made one more of the stiles and ripped it in half, you'd have a jig that would hold the slats in exactly the right alignment to insert them into the stiles.

These videos are great - i honestly look forward to each episode. Great style of filming, nice narration and plenty on detail.
Awesome. :-)
Mate, Im a sheet metal worker and stumbled onto your video. Wow. Impressive Thats some pretty trick stuff going on there.
Thanks for sharing Tim.
I studied a great deal of geometry, and it definitely helped me understand woodworking.

Great guy. Never had an interest in woodworking till now.
Totally see where you are coming from. In Germany, people just have smooth melamine on their kitchen doors. Mine are raised panel, and I curse even that detail every time I spill something off the counter!
That's right. Already have cabinets.
Actually, I'm not a big fan of louvered shutters like this, but it's a cool application of the pantorouter.
Dude you are too cool, man.I mean everytime I see you and your video's. You always have new and cool stuff.

Cool project and video! Nice attention to detail, and thanks for remind about the importance of safety (when rounding the edges of the slats)

Dream workshop I seriously need to build my workshop and use some of your fantastic ideas
Is the pantorouter totally your idea/invention? if yes your a genius for thinking and making of it works..Your the Man!
Matthias, you amaze me every time.
I really enjoy your videos!
I feel so relaxed after watching them, they're so interesting and entertaining : )
I always misplace the router collet wrench. Adjustable wrenches come in handy that way.
You do the coolest things with just a few pieces of wood

You are really somthing, it is a pleasure watching you
Just the camera's built in mike. No microphone jack on my little Nikon S8200 point and shoot. That's what I shoot most of my videos with.
This guy is the REAL wood whisperer!!!
I've never made anything from wood, but I watch these vids anyway :)
This is awesome! I just built the quick set tenon jig, which is awesome! I wonder if you were to create another rail, and band saw off the top, if you could use it for aligning the slats into the other rail? This would look like a skewed comb, or finger board.
Amazingly Clever...! Very Well Done. Keep up the great work. Nick.
Thank you, sir, for making my night for the entire next week! That's hilarious.
Très beau travail !Très agréable a regarder...belle vidéo. Nice ,very nice job. Thanks.
Congratulations from France
Yes, plans available. Just google "pantorouter plans"
i always watch your videos, you amazed me about all ideas and techniqes of yours.

You are very very smart. It's incredible everything you can do.
You r one smart cookie making all that stuff. Amazing
Nope. Though the pantorouter could be used for that as well - for making the dowel ends on the slats. And it could also be used for making a series of holes with a plunge bit.
You are a very clever fellow. Makes my head hurt.
Very fine job. Now you can put some cardboard behind it and fix the whole thing into the kitchen's wall, in order to put incoming mail in the slots. An idea I've seen somewhere else.
Not you. I accidentally had the camera set to 640x480 for part of it, and didn't want to go back and reshoot those segments.
@Matthias: you're obviously a woodworking genius. How about showing us how you would go about making adjustable louvres?
I like your videos, thank you very much for sharing knowledge greetings from Spain.
I enjoyed the zoom at the end of this video, that's the first one I've noticed you to use. That pantorouter is every bit as useful as a router table. Every serious woodworker should have a pantorouter.
Somebody who knows Spanish, is an expert in woodworking, and has time to kill would have to be the one to do that.
Hai am your fan watching your videos with all my interest...
Calming video Excellent accurate work
صرحتا ابداع وتألق وفن wonder and great
you are the best on woodworking jig..
This is absolutely AWESOME! I so got to build me some tools like that! Thanks for the inspiration!!!
Technically difficult but appears hand made. awesome. I love a challenge.
really cool! I think I'll have to build myself a pantarouter soon...
thanks alot

I love the precision in your videos ! =D
Geezus man your a flippin genius .
Great job, Matthias.
I love all of your work..good job man.

I really like that pantorouter. Are you willing to share the plans to build it if you have them..???
I saw you using an adjustable wrench, I just bought one that is 2 ft long and weighs 10 pounds.
Exelente trabajo amigo, mucha tecnica e ingenio! FELICITACIONES
What a craftsman. Top job.
I love how you work bro...
That would be for shutters with tilting slats, which these ones don't.
@Matthias Wandel may I make a suggestion? specifically for that project you just did, why not, on one side, make the slots deeper, so you can turn it over, and just put every single one in, so you don't have to work so tricky? they're glued to finalize the project anyway, and nobody can see the empty space left behind.
this was many years ago. Also, I don't want the slats to be that loose, and I certainly don't want to cut the slots deeper than absolutely necessary.
I build cabinets for a living, and I wish I had your pantorouter. Louvered doors are a pain in the bahookie and assembling them with glue and coped rails is no easy task.
Brilliant work! You are a true craftsman, where did you get your training?
Very nice, this is pure art!
No need for one, but Steve Ramsay (youtube user stevinmarin) has done a video on that earlier this summer. Go check that out.
I can see by the window that looks like you have accoustic treatment on this room, am I right ? The walls are pretty thick.

Go to his website, you'll find plans for purchase there. Link in video description.
Great video! Can you do one on moveable shutters? I tried to build it and it was pretty hard with the tools I had...
Excellent as usual. Are they gonna go into the window in the last scene above your head? They look like they fit perfectly!
Nice video. Many thanks for sharing.
Keep up the GREAT work!
How would you sand in between the shutters to repaint after 10 years?
Let air through, but mostly just decorative.
How to make jalousie. Thank you for posting, very neat.
Wrong. Just a funny looking ceiling. Actually, I'd want a bit more echo because the camera mike is not that sensitive :)
You are a genius my man
Pretty cool. A lot of work!
MAESTRO ,SOY FAN DE USTED,ME GUSTARIA QUE EXPERIMENTARA CON ARDUINO UNO EN APLICACIONES CNC PARA CARPINTERIA ,PARA VER QUE SE LE OCURRE!
