He has a lot of it already written, if you think about python as a language and pygame as a library that is added onto python, daFluffyPotato has developed himself another library that builds on pygame, so he can develop his games at a much higher level.
And what is great is that he does not make a secret of it, he shows us step by step.
Slow the video down and watch frame by frame as he builds a game, do it for an old one, then go it his website and download the source code. He is extremely open about the way he develops and he deserves much more appreciation for that.
We all struggle to make something half decent with pygame. DaFluffyPotato has taken a very structured approach to his game development.
You can even see it in his music creation in this video.. it is a track at a time.. lay down the structure, then build on top of it.
      Another fantastic video!

He's been programming for over 7 years. Experience makes a lot of difference. Also, he tends to like Pygame a lot and knows the library inside out because he uses it exclusively, by the looks of it. It's not like at uni where they get you to learn turd framework after turd framework and expect you to produce something decent in a small timeframe. If you're new to a framework or library, the majority of your time is going to be spent reading.
