Hello Richard those calves look bloody well and the mothers looked very content laying there chewing there kud they do look some lovely pigs keep up the good work 👍👍
I Richard love your channel you say how it is you're very upfront and your very honest with people which I like in a person am from a farming back grand so I no how hard it is to work on a farm and to run a farm the one big thing comes a Cross you love farming thanks for the great channel Richard all the best Vinny
All your animals are well looked after no doubt about that.Hereford calves look exceptional.Olly turning in to a good allrounder what with his drilling and loader work.
That's it, leave us on a cliff hanger with Where's the dog! I know I've only seen it a few times but it's a beautiful hound. I thought that rat was getting away, I was amazed sexy fingers got it, what with having to jump over gates n all. Well done Olly.
Great you have the Polaris back , hopefully it will stand you well going forward. It's a bit like that young dog, time will tell. Trouble is when you have a young dog you forget the older ones were a bit daft back a few years.
Couple of pieces of possible advice about changing to nipple drinkers, 1) carefully choose what style of drinker design you settle on, I would recommend ones where you can alter the water flow by changing the size of internal orifice (Particularly if you move from a low pressure supply to a high pressure one). I would suggest that you choose one that at least has a shielded nipple design where to work it the pig has to bite the drinker with it in its mouth rather than just dislodging the nipple off its seat to get water and is mounted on a boss that aims the drinker at an angle down towards the floor. (We used to find in hot weather in particular the pigs would waste water badly by basically showering one another to cool off. [one bites the nipple from the side 90degrees to the drinker and another stands under the water stream!) The number of drinkers obviously needs to be related to the number of pigs in the group and they need to be mounted at a range of heights above the bedding. If I remember correctly the tip of the drinker should be about 2" above shoulder height which of course alters as they grow. - only in sheer desperation will a pig kneel down to get a drink from a nipple drinker set too low. Remember that supply pipework will need to be large enough especially if several pigs are drinking simultaneously off a low pressure supply and they are on dry food and in dry conditions so adequate quality water is clearly needed to obtain max efficient growth and best food conversion efficiency. In my opinion the best bite action nipple drinkers drinkers are made by Arato but they are also the most expensive.
Your vids are cracking and down to earth. It shows others what reality is. I would pay to spend a couple of days with you as I live in shitty hull but was bread on a farm near fraisthorpe. And yes, I have seen all the bits!!😂🤮
@@philatdovefarms5854 hello mate, I’m amazed as I’ve never won a competition. It’ll be interesting to see once it arrives. I have a Marauder 2 or 3 whatever it’s called, that’s like a searchlight, so I’m looking forward to seeing what this one will be like. Defo handy for doing my checks around the lorries. 👍👍🇬🇧
